YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE
After the celebrations from the 75% milestone died down Scrooge had to recover for a few days. Not being used to drinking that much ('waste of money he says') and not being used to pay for drinks, his head and his wallet had a mayor hangover.
After a few days rest, Scrooge went back to his office and checked the list of races yet to do. The cleaning lady found him 3 days later shivering in the fetal position under his desk (he only pays for one cleaning per month - good thing it was not the beginning of the month!). He was clutching his wallet and muttering 'My precious, my precious!"....
ONCE YOU'RE HOOKED...
Scrooge came out of his house resolved, he wasn't going to let having to buy a few cars ruin his fun so he started buying, A LOT. He couldn't help it, he had finally discovered 'retail therapy'!!
But not everything was OK. He had a small episode of buyers remorse and sold his BMW M coupe right after he bought it. The used car salesman saw him coming, gave him the 'sucker treatment' and took him for 30k. Scrooge vowed never to talk about this incident ever again.
YOU NEED A VISION QUEST MAN!
Feeling a little lost after getting raped by the used car salesman, Scrooge looked for advice in his not so well know friend Hermit Schmidt. He always admired Hermit's ability to live on a few dollars a year but he also did not understand Hermit's lack of interest in money, specially newly printed $100 bills!
Hermit welcomed Scrooge to this cave up in the mountains and offered to help him realigin his life with a vision quest. Not one to pass on a free offer of 'magic mushrooms' he accepted and spent the next week in and out of psychedelic worlds talking to dead ancestors and future descendants.
After a week long vision quest, he felt better and accepted once and for all the need to spend money on cars. His new goal was to try and not let his bank stash go below 17.5 million. He even decided to bend the rules and cheat at the races but after cheating for the first time in one race he decided not to do it again. Even offered to return the trophy but they said they didn't see him cheating so he got away with it.
DASH TO THE LINE
Scrooge could see the light at the end of the tunnel and decided to give a 'last push' and try to get to 100% before the week was out. After three days of what could only be described as 'an orgy of racing' he made it to 98.9%. He was short of his goal but still happy he managed to win 75 different races in the space of 3.5 days (Not counting each attempt, just the actual wins).
He also got to make what he thought is the last purchase: A set of snow tyres for his Ford RS200. With only 6 races left (All in the HARD Rallies) he wasn't looking forward to doing them but was determined to get it all done. Specially since he thought there would be no more expenses.
And so he did: 100% without any more expenses. He was happy and couldn't wait for the next challenge....
