Search Function Doesn't work

I normally have no problem with the search function, but I cannot get it to work on the suggestions section and have noticed comment about zero search results on many of the threads.

Help / explanations gratefully received.

Its been slow for me, giving no results on first search, then giving results on a second search. Works in the end.

Dunno. Maybe stick a thread in the help forum and a mod will have a look?

Click the 'Title' in the red header bar above the list twice, this sorts alphabetically, then just click through the pages till you find the manufacturer, only takes a few seconds and is more effective and possibly quicker than the search function.

This caught me out, too. I believe what you are doing is limiting your search to the redirect link that is on the GT6 board, which is actually a dummy subforum that contains zero posts. In the Advanced Search box, look farther down the list of forums and find the one that clearly has the Cars and Tracks subforums. Those are the ones you want to limit your search to.

One problem with searching the suggestions is that the code omits shorts words that are important for accurate results.

I.E. GTR, Z06, F1, F50, AMG, BMW, P1, RUF, GT3, DB5, CCX, etc.

As Duke mentioned, be sure to note the search parameters when you're looking for something. If your search is restricted to the forum that you're in, it will impact or prevent you from getting results, and sub-forums of the forum you're in are not automatically included by default (this will be changing in a future software update).

I should also note that an entirely new search engine is coming shortly, which will enable searching for keywords of three characters or less.

This may or may not be the best place to ask this, but, what are the child forums? The only thing I could come up with is that the child forums are the GT5 and 6 forums but I'm not sure.

Child forums are another name for the sub forums.
I.e. GT6 is the parent forum and the Q&A, race series, photomode etc forums are child forums of it.
