This isn't a game that is meant to be completed in 20-40 hours like the majority of other games. It's meant to race, and Have fun, Long time..

True, but Polyphony already got it right with GT4, which took about 220 hours to complete, had some real challenges in it (Speedster Races, Mission 34, Hard Grand Canyon races, etc.), and required -- get this -- ZERO "grinding". That 220 hours to complete it was assuming that you never repeated an event. :)

GT5 is just lame compared to GT4 -- I'm not talking the number of cars, or the graphic detail, or time and weather changing during races, obviously those are improved. And the online component is obviously nice if you're into that sort of thing. But from a solo gameplay standpoint, GT5 is a huge step backwards. And as for the online, I tried one race online, a three lapper of the Nordschleife. I won it. I also found very little enjoyable about it -- having folks trying to ram me off course got old after the first two or three times it happened...

And I agree, these new Seasonal Events that came out today are pretty ho hum. Go back to the very first Seasonal Events -- the ones that gave you horsepower and weight limitations, and which were actually kinda tough.

EDIT: One more thing, over the years in GT4, I've probably driven (full A-spec, no B-spec help) ten 24-hour endurance races, including 200 A-spec point races at the Nordschleife and both LeMans layouts. Those were huge fun. You know how many I've done in GT5? None. Why? Because I'm only level 34 A-spec, and the game won't let me do 24-hour endurance races yet. Ridiculous. :(

Thanks PD! Wow 2 weeks was a long wait for me. I'm a bit Raikkonen fan so I should get Ferrari F2007.

So, basically, all I see is the whine of people who want ridiculous and easy amounts of money, right?

Because, we got:

- more races,
- more choice
- variety of cars
- ability to repeat the races
- very fair amount of XP in those races

We didn't got:
- proper restrictions (suggestions)

We lost:
- huge, insane and crazy credits payout

OK, I see the problem for you. Well... so inconvenient :D

Seasonal events sucks big time crappy rewards xp and cr all sucks good clubman races to easy were are the real bonus races? 2 weeks for this? And no restrictions again

now there seasonal races. not bonus races! LOL thank PD they took those dumb 1mil + races out. earn it!!!

games been out over 2 months now. how are some people broke LOL

I'm pleased to see that there are more seasonal events to do which appear to be like more A-spec events and considering I am one of those who were a little disappointed that there were not more A-spec races in the main game, I see this as a bonus...

Will check these out later today when I get back home, but any additional variety to the A-spec races is welcome IMO as I now have over 200 cars with many that I've yet to race or use in photomode so I think I'll have fun with these.

As for grinding? I'm level 28, in no hurry whatsoever to get to level 30/40 and in no hurry to get credits to buy any of the insanely expensive cars either, and I'm enjoying my racing in GT5. I am currently running and repeating events with different cars/tuning set-ups and get a lot of fun from it... it also provides me with more replays to do some photomode shoots as well.

I'm sorry but I really don't understand some of the complaints on here or why some people seem to get really worked up over this either :indiff:

No doubt GT4 was a great game, i still personally own every GT title that made it to the US. Each has just been a step in the evolution of the game in my opinion.. it just happens to be that GT5 came along when the next step in evolution was online play, which is likely the cause of less offline content.
But that really does not make it any less fun, at least to me ;)

AI has never really been much a challenge, even in prior GT games. But you can easily make it somewhat challenging by trying to set some regulations to what you drive ;) If they set regulations to how races should actually be ran (not maxing out your cars, and not using racing tires when the AI is running comfort or low grip sport tires. Sure it would be fun for most of us, but people would still complain heh. So they make them so users can race them how they want.. I personally would prefer set regulations for all races.

Having people running into and all can be a pain.. for sure.. the trick is just finding that group of people who you can tolerate and like to race clean.. they are out there, even if they seem like the minority lol

Because there is over 1000 cars and most cost over 200k to build. Gee I wonder why people still want more money!

Are the days of high payouts and lots of XP gone? I loved that, it meant I didn't have to grind my way through A-Spec, I was able to race more online and focus on GT Academy, now I have to go back to 30k a race or so, thats a sour taste in my mouth sorry...don't get us accustomed to really nice high payout events then take them away. I would have rather never gotten them at all now, I feel like I am wasting time with these, its not fun to race the computer unless there is a high payout.

I have 9m credits, if I have to grind to get to 10m so I can buy a Ferrari F1, I am going to dupe, I am sorry, I am giving in, I am not shelling out all my change only to be rewarded with 100k in credits. The great thing about the last seasonal events, is they at least paid you back for the car you invested to run the seasonal event for, that is what made them fun it was like "run this event and you get this car for free." Pay me 10m for the Ferrari race or I am going to have to dupe the Ferrari after I buy it because I am not about to lose 10m on that car and not get it back.

Noone even runs Ferrari races online, so its not really that fun, none of my friends even have the car, if they at least paid you back for the car I am sure I could get some of them to buy it.

who don't we all ask PD for a free DLC with ALL cars in it, premium that is, also all the Paint chips and on top he will give us 20.000.000 credits and upgrade the XP to level 40. then all the events will be automatically golded and you're done playing.
That what you all want right ?
Jeeezzz, stop complaining and have a life !!

I agree with amar,Dago-Chopperss61 and Dennisp83. I find that these races fill for the lack of races that are in GT5, and I like it. Stop complaining, otherwise moderators may close this post.

Are these events grid start races or time trial start at the back rolling type.

Cheers.

Trust me, as long as things don't get too personal, this thread will stay open.

@Spagetti69: Rolling start. You begin at the back.

Absolutely right. Only thing I was looking forward to in the seasonals was the cash to buy different cars so I can race online. Being part of this forum if you haven't checked out the online section and found a group of good people to race with yet get on there. There are lots of groups and if they are anything like the one I joined you are in for an absolute blast. Yeah you will grind a bit to get cars but the racing you will get will make you forget it in a second.

Disappointed; that as someone who's Aspec is in the mid 30s the XP has been reduced (credits never have been a problem) and that there are no rally races, but at least I had a chance to buy up some nice Rally Cars.

Glad there are more events, it is always important to have something new to do, until I play them I will not comment on replayability.

I still think that the next update (1.06?) will be the make or break of GT5 for myself irrespective of what happens on the seasonal events part of the game.

I don't want any cars for free, unearned credits, or anything like that. However, I would like to be able to race any event for which I have a legal car. In GT4, once you had 25% completion and unlocked the Extreme Hall, you were free to do any race in the game, buy any car, etc. The leveling system and level-based restrictions on buying cars or entering events is just silly, IMHO. For me, that's the ONLY frustration I have with this game -- I need millions more XP before I have the freedom to do any race in the game. And I'm at like 98% completion or something like that.

I've seen some folks ask in other threads, "do you really want to run the 24hr Nurburgring race so badly?" Yeah, actually I do. But thank you, Polyphony, for steering me away from that into races that don't interest me nearly as much -- I do appreciate it. :dopey:

Do you get an xp / cr bonus for completing all the races in a certain event fo example the FF event? Because the xp / cr for the single races are pretty disappointing?
