Looool, just after I received my Sauber C9, it showed up in OCD... :D Oh well, at least I traded it for Lister Storm.

I did a very stupid thing... for the Monza race I had to buy a brand new 430 Scuderia. I never bought one before because I really love my 458 Italia, so use it all the time.
Paid my 300K plus, or whatever it cost, did an oil change and went to the SE Monza race. Take off from the line, get over to the right to get by the AI, first chicane... SLIDE IN AND HIT THE CONCRETE BARRICADE!!! I just bought that beautiful car, and now I have dented the front right side. I couldn't even bare to look in the GTAuto to see how much the damage is. I assume it will be 500K. Nice move. Way to go, me. I won the race, but still.

It's been proven "damage" has nothing to do with GT Auto chassis cost.

Humm... cant say i've ever noticed damage remaining on the cars after completing a race.

You just can't be unique in GT5 anymore...
I haven't seen that much people online with a GT-R Pace car, I found one in the UCD, and now they're giving it away in the OCD as well :S

Is it just me or is this series of events a little bit more difficult than the last few? Usually I can get by with an oil change and a slightly better set of tires, but I came up a bit short in the MX-5 race (with oil, ECU and better tires installed). I got smoked by whatever the first place car was in my fairly significantly tuned Cappucino and was awful in my first attempt in the Skyline Sedan. I'm not used to these cars yet (none of the three handle very well IMO) so maybe I'm just flat out not driving them well but I'm so used to making one adjustment and that being almost overkill.

I'm definitely not complaining, just wondering if I'm imagining this.

I found this latest bonus race to be a bit bland. The only perk being the Ferrari 430 Scuderia ( but then agian no shocker in this being a good car ) the rest was vanilla with no sprinkles or toppings.

I really hope you are right... as in the past bonus events, most of the AI cars seemed to have been running behind an imaginary "safety car".

nice to see that they did a corvette event. considering i have bought almost every corvette in the game, i was glad

Y'know, I *DID* kind of expect it to be a race against OTHER Corvettes, though, not against a passel of pickup trucks! (Okay, there were only a few pickups in that event, but still...) :)

I thought the same thing! I started that race last night just to see if the RM was allowed, and there was a bunch of trucks and other cars in the competition. I thought I had gone to the wrong race!

Gives me an excuse to buy the C5 Z06 in the premium...I have 2 C6 Z06 and ZR1 already so if that is not fast enough I'll just throw the RM in the mix and make the money...

I love the GT series, but this is the one thing that I have always hated about the series. Why do they always put one car that blows the field away. There my be 12 cars on the track, but I am truly only racing against one. I would rather have 5 cars fighting it out on the last lap then to have to chase down one car. The other cars just become obsticles at that point.

Really, when you think about it, you are really only trying to beat a fixed time. The #1 car always posts the same time, beat it and you win. If there were no cars on the track it wouldn't be any different than the S class licenses in GT4 (with a few more laps). The cars just add a touch of difficulty, more like the GT4 Missions. Which is what they really are in a sense.

The Mazda Roadster handles like a bitch. Terrible car.

10-4 to that. I can get around Tsukuba faster in the go-kart. Test-drove the Mazda IRL and thought so little of it that it immediately got crossed off the list of cars I'd ever consider buying.

Well,
I like to keep my cars as stock as I can so with these Seasonal Events I try to find a tire selection that will get me there while keeping the rest of the car as stock as possible (save for RM'ing the Cappuccino... it's just too cool!) I'm not the world's best driver by any stretch, and use a controller instead of a wheel so... your mileage may vary.

- For the Cappuccino race, I threw Racing Hard tires on it and tuned it a bit, and blew the race away. I'm sure it's doable on Sport Softs if not Mediums.

- For the MX5 race, I threw on Sport Soft tires and passed the leader by the end of lap 7, running consistent 1:07's.... overkill. Would be doable stock on Sport Mediums or possibly Hards. I overshot my choices and upgraded too far too fast.

- Nissan race: Sport Hards only

Other two in the works...

I just did the scuderia race with RS tyres and an oil change and blew em away after lap 3 so should be able to do easy stock, probly don't even need the oil change.

To me, the Cappuccino is the sleeper of the lot. The Scuderia was a joy to drive. The rest of this batch, meh. I smoked the Indy/Corvette run with the ZR1 RM just because I didn't want to mess around with a track I dislike and a car I don't have much affinity for. Probably over-tuned the Nissan also in a get-it-over-with mood because the car didn't make a good first impression -- the stock version (obtained as a prize) to me has slow throttle response. I found myself thinking a mid-range turbo would likely make it more enjoyable but the tuning shop doesn't offer that as an option. The MX-5, yech. Understeer city even with sports softs.

Bleh...looks like the Cappucino will need some HP boosts, can't come close to that i concept...10 seconds off

All you need to do is add racing mediums to the stock cappucino and you have a race winning car! Thats all i do on all the seasonals. Makes the racing that little bit more exciting ;)

Just RM'd the cappuccino and i have to say I was wowed! Next to the DC5 RM, I am impressed with the look!

On a different note, the skyline 350GT seems to be the most boring car I've driven on GT5 yet! There is no urgency in the power delivery what so ever, though I suspect this is due to the "executive" market its aimed for. Anyone notice its speedometer only goes up to 180Kph?

The MX-5 drives nice bone stock but it is a bit too slow.
Ended 2nd 18 secs behind.

raVer

Sports Hard or Medium only is my advice, depending on driving skills and "god mode on/off).

And it handles great. It IS one of the most well balanced sports cars ever built. Upgrading it too much will ruin it, unless you know how to tune it as well.

Love the handling on the Capuccino or even the 350 Sedan as well (even if it does have a very long gearbox and veeery soft power delivery).
