Xbox??? Who is this Xbox??
Hi,
So I took a look at the Seasonal Events that came out today (Feb 10th), and I took a look at the payouts. In my opinion they were way too low for me to try. For example, the Laguna Seca race (limit 400 H) the payout is only 26000. In Deep Forest, the payout is 19700. I may not even bother to try, how about you?

As someone said somewhere else on these boards, it seems like something good/easy for people starting out their careers. These races pay out a bit more than the Beginner/Amateur ones, and it doesn't take much of a car to win them. It's good grinding for the newbies.

yes i strongly feel the same. with around 300m worth of cars and like 10m of a + b spec reward cash how can we afford the cars we have FUN driving without BORING GRINDING. please can someone calculate the total reward credits and total car costs plz

I only got the 1st place money for the Ferrari F1 challenge so I'm guessing that they're now repeatable.

No, it's definitely too low. The big payouts were really useful to me in the past, as they were to just about anyone who won them.

These events were pretty fun though. I'm just glad they gave us something to do. However, periodic events still aren't enough to fix the career in this game. Especially since we no longer get new ones every week by the looks of it. Hopefully, the next update will bring something to the table.

My PS3 will be collecting dust until then.

Total car cost is about 480-490 million credits (I'm still missing prices for 5 cars or so). But, as I posted before, you can buy about 600 of the approx. 1000 cars for just 20 million credits. (that's 600 different models)

I also thought at first that the relation between some cars' prices and the rewards is somewhat skewed, but they made only some really rare cars that pricey (10 million+). If your top-of-the-line race car comes in at something like 5 million, that's not too expensive, I think. You can earn that money easily in a day, when you're determined and have the time. It's supposed to keep people from buying all the high-powered cars in 1 week and that's what it achieves.

Payout's Ok but the difficulty level is ridiculous. Even with a seriously underpowered car it is extremely easy to win. The first set of seasonal events have been the best by far. I really hope it improves.

just had my first go at the new seasonal events, What a joke !
I did the first FR race at deep forest raceway, it says the typical opponent will be in the 295 hp range yet the car with the least power has 314 hp ,so i enter my 1979 nissan bluebird sss with 230 hp for a laugh but i am in the lead on my 3rd lap with no assists ,abs 1 . Great challenge PD really got my moneys worth out of that one . Why can't we have a difficulty level to chose from and maybe a start where the leader isn't half a lap ahead at the start of the race ? AI stands for "artificial intelligence" but in GT5 the opposition should be referred to as AG "artificial granny" because that is how the drive, slow with no regard for anyone around them. When are they going to get this right ,soon i hope.

In my opinion it’s sad that the previous 3-4 seasonal events have been so easy and the payout so big... It´s been far too easy to level up and buy overpowered cars without the restrictions, witch has left me with very little to look forward to in GT5, except online and shuffle races...

My garage has 300+ cars in it, 40% road cars, 30% supercars and 30% LM/RM-cars...

A friend i have just started his profile in GT5 and levelled to lv-21 just by doing the 6th seasonal event... And with the cars, money and tires acquired with those races, he wont find a challenging challenge until he starts with the expert once... And this as a result of just attending the 6th seasonal event...

I say, payouts should break you even with the car required (maybe not an F1/LM-car though) but not more. And the events should be restricted so that its haaard to come first. More power/weight/tire-restriction pleeeease...

A game should be a challenge, not a walk in the park. And a simulator even more so...

But that’s my opinion...

Is there a reason you've posted this 3 times in 3 different threads? Please don't spam the forums. Thanks.

So more moaning from people ... everyone COMPLAINS that PD are stupid for not bringing out seasonals on time ... now that theyre here theyve took in the fact that people COMPLAINED about only being 5 races so theres 12 and how people COMPLAINED the game is too easy with the money from seasonals. If you dont like it dont play it. Simple.

Payout is reasonable over the 12 races and theyre redo-able so you can 'grind' or whatever you do on them aswell.

If you dont like it dont play it. Simple.

I fail to see how this attitude and repeated statement does anything other than deliberately cause a resentful reaction. If you don't like what people are saying by way of criticism, don't read it. Simple.

Is driving the only thing that you don't like about GT5 ?

That seems to be very common.
It's like doing anything other than the most efficient, fastest method to earn credits is a waste of time.
People then consider this to be forced upon them.

I've been driving different cars on different tracks.
Noticing how stock cars' suspensions have certain characteristics and how different chassis handle the racing dynamics differently.
How different drivetrains inherently have their own advantages and disadvantages.
Working at tuning out undesirable characteristics from my observations and in the process creating machines that overacheive.
Taking those overacheivers into races they weren't meant to win but do so very competitively.

Dare I make the ironic observation of who is really wasting their time?

Lets hope PD look at this poll!

If only they didn't delete the events after 2 weeks, I can't understand the reasoning behind that.

I'm not as concerned about the money(which doesn't give you all the amounts for each place if you finish 1st), but the rediculously low XP. How the hell am I supposed to rank up without doing endurance races for the rest of the time I play this game? I'm at 88% and only have Endurance races left to beat. 👎

They don't want you to complete the game 100% within 3 months of its release that easily.

Never bloody happy

They never bloody will be.

It was something different to do. So what the payout isn't high. This is just giving me a chance to go through my garage and drive cars that I normally don't use.

Voted 'Meh, its OK.'

I ran out of cars I'd like to buy anyways... From here on out, I'd probably be spending credits on cars out of boredom or collecting different the liveries of the SuperGT cars, so I don't care about the payout all that much.

If you need money, though, I can see why you'd angry about it.

Brilliant insight to the mind of the spoilt and bored :

1) He wants FUN (-without the effort)
2) After some more thinking, he decides he wants to know "the total reward credits and total car costs" - but wants someone else to do the work of calculating it.

SBS ? (Spoilt Brat Syndrome?)

Whenther it takes 3 months or 3 years, you will have to endlessly grind if you want to complete the game.

I voted for 'meh' the big payouts in the past were nice but not a necessity. In the end, new content is all that matters :)

Yes the payouts are rubbish. However, what is good is I am now getting some decent racing as I am basically using stock apart from maybe a tyre change. Also cars I would never use have been used such as the BMW Concept 01. I think PD are gauging the reaction to seasonals so they can release a new set of challenges for ASpec and BSped or maybe for GT6.

It's not even really new content though is it? Most of it is an identical rehash of A-Spec events, only you start last instead of 7th.

That's sums it up nicely from my point of view. 👍

2:40:394, How long it took me to make 84000 credits. Seasonal events are for new races, and fun. The fast money is on Indy.
