Seasonal Events 7 - Payout = Pathetic?

Heres an idea to stop people complaining about poor payouts and quick levelling, how about basing the amount of xp and credits according to what level you are, small payouts for low level and larger pay for high level players.

just had my first go at the new seasonal events, What a joke !
I did the first FR race at deep forest raceway, it says the typical opponent will be in the 295 hp range yet the car with the least power has 314 hp ,so i enter my 1979 nissan bluebird sss with 230 hp for a laugh but i am in the lead on my 3rd lap with no assists ,abs 1 . Great challenge PD really got my moneys worth out of that one . Why can't we have a difficulty level to chose from and maybe a start where the leader isn't half a lap ahead at the start of the race ? AI stands for "artificial intelligence" but in GT5 the opposition should be referred to as AG "artificial granny" because that is how the drive, slow with no regard for anyone around them. When are they going to get this right ,soon i hope.

Couldn't have said it better myself. When Kaz races in the Nurb 24hrs, does he see the other drivers behaving like the GT5 AI, or real drivers? Most of us will never race at the 'Ring but someone like Kaz who did, should never allow this out to the public.

So I took a look at the Seasonal Events that came out today (Feb 10th), and I took a look at the payouts. In my opinion they were way too low for me to try. For example, the Laguna Seca race (limit 400 H) the payout is only 26000. In Deep Forest, the payout is 19700. I may not even bother to try, how about you?

What made seasonal events special for me was the fact that there was that one race where you get 1.5m in cash -_- and 120.000 in exp Happy days -_- .
But now since thats not the case there just more boring A-Spec Races ....

I fail to see how this attitude and repeated statement does anything other than deliberately cause a resentful reaction. If you don't like what people are saying by way of criticism, don't read it. Simple.

That's impossible for these types of people. It seems that "defending" a game or developer against "moaning, complaining or whining" by flaming and ironically complaining has become a accepted form of trolling across all game forums.

And yes, the payout is low. They have really become a just a extension of the boring grind that is Aspec. The old setup was a replacement for grinding for some of us, now it seems they want to force us to grind even on the seasonal.

Its cool I think something to do I used a mostly stock evo 0 to do the awd challenge. used race hards and just the three cheapest engine mods..
Damn fun races damn fun..
Its just another set of races in an endless chain of races there going to give use. sometimes you go home broke, sometimes you hit paydirt.

They only put Standard cars in the OCD. What difference would it make if the FF1 cars were in there anyway? They certainly wouldn't be any cheaper than they are in the Ferrari Dealership.

personally i think PD have covered all angles, the seasonal too easy? fine put in restrictions of other cars in race and have your ''fair'' race, the payouts are not as much but seen as you can win them over and over you should get the fun out of what you brought a driving game for, for me the ferrari challenge is a challenge so il have my fun at trying to crack it

well i guess im going to use the rubber band trick to get grind then. i have absolutely no interest in going around the same track 100 times. gt5 is amazing until you hit 30, then its about the worst thought out game ever made... did they think no one would hit 30 and so no one would care...?

i totally agree with everyone these payouts are pathetic. i was really hoping for atleast a race with a prize of atleast 1 million. the fto super touring car just came out in my ucd and im broke. what a bummer

I would say that the pay out is on level with the difficulty si you cant really complain

As someone said somewhere else on these boards, it seems like something good/easy for people starting out their careers. These races pay out a bit more than the Beginner/Amateur ones, and it doesn't take much of a car to win them. It's good grinding for the newbies.

Trouble with this is, newbies didnt need any more events. You can quite happilly get all the way to 24-25 with minimal grinding and multiple events to complete as it is. 25-30 is where the events start to dissapear, youll gold every single unlocked event before you hit 30 and chances are youll also have to repeat grind Indy several times.

After 30 it gets even more stupid, between 33 and 40 there are 3 endurance unlocks, one at 40 which makes it useless for levelling. These are 9hrs and two 24hrs respectively. When you complete these events on average they give you about 50% of a bars xp ONLY if you complete them on the level they unlocked. By 39 your talking about 6-8 grinds of 24hr endurance for the xp to get to 40.

I'm all for giving everyone some races to do, and all for varying the rewards in accordance with the level the events achievable at. The problem is at the moment they have a huge wasteland of nothingness from hitting 30 to hitting 40.

TLDR: I'm all up for giving newbs events but for the love of god give the 30+ players something to do instead of just grinding Endurance/Indy 500.

Same here. I have done the seasonals mainly for exp..
Now they are just some A-spec races where you have to be online. Nothing more.

2:40:394, How long it took me to make 84000 credits. Seasonal events are for new races, and fun. The fast money is on Indy.

Really? That seems low to me... What are you grinding?

5 Reps on American:Indy should take ~20min for cr 585,000.

First 4 races of A/B Spec-Dream Car should take ~1hr for cr 972,000

Anyway, back to the topic, I haven't tried the new Seasonals yet, but I, for one, like the look of them. More races than before & ability to repeat with various cars = more longevity in my eyes 👍

the way i see it, this gives us more reward for trying out different cars. i, for one, was getting quite bored taking my random street cars to the low level tracks for tuning/fun/driving experience and only getting a couple hundred XP for my time. granted, i wasn't after the XP or cash, but at least these new events give me *something* for the effort. now i've got at least a week to try out all the different cars i've been looking for a place to test them against reasonable opposition. sure, it's not the XP explosion to which we've grown accustomed, but it's better than the existing a spec races we've all outgrown. just my $0.02

Indeed, the payouts are too low...and the AI is so slow most of these races can be run with a stock car.

PD has confirmed that there is a problem with players saves that are apparently paying "a disrespectful low amount of money"

According to PD you have to delete your game save, or destroy your hard drive as this is a virus.


Serious though. Why not bash the fact that the game isn't perfect like every other game on the market...... Oh.... wait a second......

It doesnt help towards the end 100% so if you dont want to "Waste Time In Your Life" < (By the way, your playing a video game, GO FIGURE) then dont do them.

Now please do us a favor, cut off your fingers, and eat them. Shut down your computer first, since you care so much about environment. Even better, recycle it.

For the rest of normal, non-flamer people, I must say I agree with those who say it's worse than ever. If it were for newbies, it would be better as it was: more XP in a row, shorter races, less expensive cars.

Now, F1 event doesn't seem quite for newbies, so...heck I'm still trying to guess why it took 2 weeks to mess things up. Yes, it was easy before, but helpful. Now it's as easy as before, but longer and helpless from level 21-23 and on.

Anyway, I'm obviously not touching this seasonal events again until something better comes. The first ones were off the hook. Should've kept that way. I'm lvl 35, Cr. sometimes are welcome the easy way, just 1 race. But it's even better if it's challenging. Then again, don't care much about Exp, but 120.000 wasn't bad at all for 5 laps.

I think it's appropriate for the type of challenge presented in the race. You can win with a bone stock car. I did...

The F1 challenge is cool, just for the fact we can actually use the F1 car in something besides practice mode. The payout is allright, but since people are used to winning millions of credits from past seasonal events i guess the transition was bigger than anticipated.

The big payouts were such a good help for everyone playing this game considering the fact that its stupidly hard to earn cash and the stupid fact that cars cost up to 20mil and ppl like me want to collect all cars (1000+ cars) This game needs bigger n better rewards, nobody wants to waste time grinding for hours n hours n hours. I love gt5 but srsly they need a better way of making money and i thought they were on the right track with those big payouta from previous seasonal events.
