The only thing that separated the Seasonal Bonus Races from A-Spec Races was the huge payout and XP. This just feels like more boring A-Spec races.

I do appreciate them throwing in the events for the Ferrari, but I can do that in a One Make Race anytime, and I often do...

I just don't really see the value in the content. I don't see what I'm getting that I couldn't get out of the game before. The Ferrari races are decent cash and XP, but I'm at level 30, if I'm ever going to reach 40... this aint gonna cut it.

It's not even really new content though is it? Most of it is an identical rehash of A-Spec events, only you start last instead of 7th.

They're events in which cars race around a race track. Incidentally this is a racing game which means that for the most part it consists of events in which cars race around a race track. I believe it's pretty damn hard to come up for anything else for a game of this kind. Most people complained about the game shipping with too few races so now there are more.

The car/course combinations are something that aren't seen in the basic A-Spec game so by any standards it is new content. Whether you like it or not.

If I'm not going to get all the payouts for all the places (like all previous seasons), then why do I have to start in the back of the pack (like all previous seasons)?

I don't understand the whole last-place Cinderella story if the payouts are standard format.

I'm not complaining. I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to me.

Yaaay. I just won 143k Cr. I'll just have to do this 70 times more so that I can get my 10m back. Good times.

What a drastic move, from big nice payouts to this small crap i dont get it. It was fine as it was before.

Not according to GTP. They were 'lame' and 'sucked'. So they change it up and get the same response. Personally I am not sure what PD could do to get a positive reaction.

It seems that nobody wants to play the game as a driving game. People just want to do some wow leveling and gold farming.

Levels, xp and credits... Who cares? What do these things have to do with driving in the first place?

Yeah, I'm quite mystified by people who feel they need to grind all the way to level 40. If you don't enjoy the endurance races, why bother doing them? I don't like or have the time for endurance races, so I'm not gonna waste my time with them. Doesn't bother me that they're in the game for people who appreciate them.

But it would be nice to be able to earn credits more easily and buy more cars. It would also be nice to have a set of challenging Seasonal events for a variety of difficulty levels, where you could use those extra credits to try out different cars and upgrades in order to beat those events.

So what the payout isn't high. This is just giving me a chance to go through my garage and drive cars that I normally don't use.
Yeah, exactly the same for me. I grabbed a car I never would have used otherwise, went with way less tire than is allowed and way less motor, then started adding little bits here and there. Turned out I didn't need any more power, just drivetrain parts so the car would shift quicker. In the meantime, I had about 6 or 7 really close races, and made about 100k. Not much, but if the whole thing was about maximizing credits, I'd just go back to Indy.

Some people call this grinding, but grinding to me is just mindlessly going through a race that you've already won over and over to get the rewards. This isn't anything like that, and I may try it again with a different car that I never use.

I think this would work, but I also think this is what the Driver's Club will be:
Seasonal Special Events like the first kind of seasonals we had, where you get huge rewards but can only get them once and there are restrictions on the race, and then also have seasonal events like the ones we have now, except it makes no sense to let them expire. Maybe they'll realise this because the seasonals do seem very experimental at the moment, given how radically they've changed in the three iterations.

This way you have to earn the higher rewards, because as much as I loved free money, the derestricted seasonals were exactly that, free money. GT has never been about free anything, you've always had to work hard to earn good amounts of cash, the exception being the ability to B-Spec the DTM championship in GT4, of course.

I think this would work well; we'd have more to do and that's always good. I like to re-run A-Spec events in less and less powerful cars (first time through I deliberately outgunned everyone when possible), but given how few events there are I can't see myself doing that up to the end of the year.

I really like what PD are doing, though, even if it's not quite hitting the mark just yet. Hopefully they'll overhaul the online modes to the same extent and give it some longevity, I don't think that's unrealistic at all given what they've added since the game's launch.

Edit: Of course, that's PD's problem; now people expect them to completely rebuild the game through updates...

Agreed. I'd be very, very happy if PD added some events that paid out the same as the American Championship for races of a comparable length across a variety of circuits that let me use more than just the ZR1 RM and GT Spec II Test Car... I mean, what's so hard about racing in an oval for 5 laps, doing 43-45 seconds a lap, to justify the huge reward? Why did the most boring race have to be the most profitable in terms of credits per minute?

10 mil for what? you spent 10 mil on something? so PD should return that money to you? because you bought osmething with it?

Great idea I will go down to local car dealer buy brand new lambo...then have them give me my money back because I spent it.

These seasonal events always seemed to me as a temporary solution while they worked out how to fix the complaints from people regarding the levelling system. The way I see it is that the next update will hopefully bring the new A spec events required to fix the levelling system.

I want B-Spec Seasonal Events, if the payout is this low with B-Spec then I'd still be happy because my B Spec level is only 15.

But for A Spec I think it's too low. I thought we were gonna get some Super Seasonal Events but this is a big disappointment. How can people who don't have much money do the F1 race anyway? This just doesn't make sense!!!

Vote by not racing if you think the payout/xp is inadequate. Pretty sure PD keep stats on what people race.

The payouts are a joke this time, I probably gain about 2% in level 35, yay 👎

Why don't they add some events which have level 30/level 35 restrictions on them, with around 1 million XP? This way you prevent people new to the game from leveling up way too quickly, and you also give an alternative for grinding to the hardcore people who want to get to level 40 but hate grinding (like me).

Can you imagine how pissed people would be if there was a big payout for the F1 races and they couldn't do them? At least the low payout kind of lightens the blow for those that can't afford the F1 cars yet.

I myself am happy just to have 12 new races to do. I already have 18 mill, and I back up my save before buying expensive cars :trouble:

I'm sitting on 6.8m credits...no where near enough for the F2007 :(

EDIT: The least PD could do is put one of the Ferrari Formula 1 cars in the online dealership...

I've never approached even 6m credits, but I have both the F1's, and FGT and 3 X2010's. Just trade for em here

And on the subject of the new seasonals, yea the previous ones were nice with the huge xp and payouts but really guys it's a game. Where did it ever say the developer was required to do the seasonal events at all? It's something different. Although I do agree about the skill level of the AI, it could be a bit more challenging. Last night I went and bought a brand new Super GT car and did the extreme series Super GT event with nothing more than an oil change and was in 1st place at the half lap point.

I like the new races! The pay is poor, but I don't care much about the money! It's the low level up points are what I care about! I'm stuck at 33 and I don't want to wast days doing enduros just to level up!

PD...Thanks for the nice races, give us more points though, please!

As stated prior, these events seem to cater more to the newer player who may have just purchased the game and this is a simple way to level up with much needed credits and xp. Its just my opinion though but the events seem to mirror the first events in the amatuer series with the lower powered FF and FR events that don't require monstrous upgrades or expensive purchases to complete. PD then attempted to cater to those of us that had the F1 with the Ferrari challenge since we couldn't really use them except in online events and provided decent xp and cr to go along with it. Folks have to realize that not everyone bought this game in its release date which is why you see these events such as this. Birching and moaning about everything that comes or doesn't come down the pipe is as useless as teets on a boar.
I'm sure that PD wants to keep this game relevant for more than a month or two and we can't expect to be spoon fed large doses of cr and xp with every SE to get us closer to the completion of the game. Im level 33 A-spec and 37 B-spec with 20 million in the bank and 499 cars. As long as PD keeps up the progress they have with the game to keep me playing on something when Im not online racing I applaud their efforts.

Same -_-
What made seasonal events special for me was the fact that there was that one race where you get 1.5m in cash -_- and 120.000 in exp Happy days -_- .
But now since thats not the case there just more boring A-Spec Races ....

YES! I loved the big payouts and XP. While I wouldn't mind if they made me sweat a bit to get it ( like the Indy race in seasonal 6) just not ridiculous like some of the license tests. I don't agree with restrictions but a challenge in the order of GT all stars or dream cars would be cool, or even variations of the Super GT challenge.

The extra cash enhanced my GT5 experience by allowing me to just go by a car I like in the used car lot or dealership, mod it and race it and not have to worry about wasting money.

PS. Payouts for online racing against human opponents should be as good as the big seasonals.

Mixed reviews on this one.

I like that it is restricted, but at least make it a challenge to actually win from the back of the pack.

And wheres the payout? I'm not one to race championships over and over just to make 10m so i can buy an F1 to race for 50k cr (not sure what it really is, because I didn't bother to look since I don't own a F1).

Nothing to look forward to on Wednesday anymore, beside the refreshed of the online car lot.

I haven't looked at them yet, as long as they pay something out then it's all good in my book. There's always next weeks everyone 👍.

I actually liked these latest events, especially the F1 challenge, it was good racing.
As for the Cr ?...meh, it's only pretend money. same for the XP, why the urge to get to level 40 as quick as possible ? If it takes a year for me to get there then so be it.
I might just be mellowing out with age but i bought this game for the racing which is pretty good when you keep it at a competitive level.
Ah well each to their own.

Lets hope PD look at this poll!

I hear they sit on the edge of their seats reading every post.

The only reason I did the seasonal events was for the experience points, so I didn't have to keep grinding away at the same damn races; but nope, they took that away now too. Thanks Polyphony Digital!

Also, I'm not wasting credits or time buying and racing the Ferrari F1. That car is useless. Spend a ton of money on it, get to race it, and then what, when the events expire, go back to just letting it sit in the garage and be useless again? Pass.

Race it online. I set up rooms all the time specifically for that car, and have a lot of good races.

Would be nice but i am sure if they came here they would go to the front page and get stuck reading all the other "Constructive" criticism.

I used to spend 400k to get 5 million. Now I spend 10 million to make 200k.

Sounds like gt5 is getting DUMB
