just had my first go at the new seasonal events, What a joke !
I did the first FR race at deep forest raceway, it says the typical opponent will be in the 295 hp range yet the car with the least power has 314 hp ,so i enter my 1979 nissan bluebird sss with 230 hp for a laugh but i am in the lead on my 3rd lap with no assists ,abs 1 . Great challenge PD really got my moneys worth out of that one . Why can't we have a difficulty level to chose from and maybe a start where the leader isn't half a lap ahead at the start of the race ? AI stands for "artificial intelligence" but in GT5 the opposition should be referred to as AG "artificial granny" because that is how the drive, slow with no regard for anyone around them. When are they going to get this right ,soon i hope.

Damn right,
the best AI I've found in the game is in Arcade mode at A level, in career mode GT5 drivers are

and

GT5 fans are never happy. Before there were no seasonla events, people complained about lack of money and EXP. without having to grind. They fix it wit hthe introduction fo seasonal events, then people complain about it being too much money and EXP. Now they give you small payouts, and people STILL complain.

I miss the career mode of GT4, that was a seriuos CAREER MODE, ok with GT5 we drive online but the good old career with manifacture events and all those races in different tracks should NEVER EVER been removed from the game. Tracks like El Capitan.. omg if I start thinking they removed it.. Città d'Aria, New York, Opera Paris, Hong Kong.. omg.. and now the Japanese come out with the life deaf joke..

I can't help but notice that the number of PD-apologists' posts on this thread is far greater than the 14.45% (as-of this post) that voted the season payouts were satisfactory.

I find this to be true in the forums of almost every game I play. There is an over-whelming amount of people that go to great lengths to post criticism (even personal attacks) of anyone disputing the divine wisdom of the game's development team. Yet the majority of players clearly aren't happy with a decision that the developers made. Those people usually don't post, they just don't play. This is bad for any game. Player feedback, especially criticism, is a healthy part of any game's lifecycle.

Some people gripe and moan about some changes, and other people gripe and moan about other changes from time to time. This is common to every game.

But when the developers do something that is clearly unpopular with the majority of players, an army of apologists seem to come out of the woodwork to defend the developers' honor.

I'm simply making an observation. It is an odd phenomenon in my opinion.

Payouts are low especially in online mode. 9 laps race on Nurburgring 24h that equals to 1h 15min of race time and just 220 000 cr. as money prize? I don't want to spend time racing with stupid AI just to gain enough money to buy cars I want. I like driving and racing against actual people or hot lapping offline. I'm also GT "veteran" with 100% in every GT game released so far and I'm level 35 in GT5 with golded Vettel challanges, do I really have to spend time on useless grinding for money?
Therefore I found payouts in previous Seasonals somehow convenient.

i think everyone one secretly did.

i'm happy with the payouts in seasonal 7, just not with the XP system in the main game

I thought PD said the high payouts were temporary back in December, so I'm not surprised by the drop off. However I'd much rather have them return to the previous system. These new events are just more of the same from A-Spec.

I remember the days where you could buy and fully mod a super car and do an easy race, then get double the money you put into it, and get a truckload of exp. *sigh* I miss last week.:(

I'd complain, but being able to repeat the events as much as I want to makes me happy enough to where I don't care that much about not gaining the super special bonuses. I'm fine with it, as long as they let us repeat it as much as we desire.

I have been reading many threads on different forums about this specific subject and i don't get it.

The solution to this problem seems to be so ovious and i don't understand why I did not read it yet..

So the problem seems to be that the lower level (newbie) go through the game to rapidly, and the higher level can't get reasonable xp to get to 40.

What about lvl restricted bonus races..

Level 0-10 gets 15k cr + 1k xp
Level 10-20 gets 35 k cr + 3.5k xp
Level 20-30 gets 100k cr + 7k xp
Level 30 + Gets 1m cr + 100k xp

I play this game mainly for the online part of it.. The first few seasonal was very interresting because once a week I was filling my bank account and was getting new cars for the week to come to race online..

I could grind the same track over and over, but where is the fun to grind a race where you know the exact move of each and single car surrounding you.. seriously..I prefer to do time trials .. at least i race against myself..

My two cents about lvl 30 race + .. Why not make it very hard races (gold medal I-S license style.. that would be very intense and would worth the big payouts.. including d/q because of hit or out of course)

bah.. in the meantime.. i will keep dreaming..

P.S. : sorry for the terrible grammar..

Haha, from the poll it seems that there are quite a few no hopers here on this site who prefer 'lower payouts' against higher ones. So, if you were offered a job with a better salary than the one you have now, I suppose you loyalists would never leave the current one right?

Carry on please, how do the peanuts taste?:lol::lol:

In my case, I think I did one FR race and one F1 race. Payout is pathetic, so are the AI/tracks. PD, please ship more of this mediocrity in the future. Corporate suicide at its best.

****ing up more than Activision is a feat that needs to be seen to be believed and PD deserves an award.

97 guys voted "yes" because they red: Payout = Pathetic? ->Yes

If I regularly have over 10,000,000 in the bank and easy access to 100,000+ on demand, do I really care about a fortnightly bonus ? No. XP and new challenges is what I am after.

Gredits and exp too low, but I do like that you can enter more than one specific car; still saving credits to buy the F1 Ferrari (2010) and do the Seasonal Event 7 Ferrari F1 race.

I hope I can buy the Ferrari F1 before seasonal #7 ends!

good post. I'm pretty much in the same situation and agree with everything you said.

Hahahahah, nice catch. OP fails at setting polls. The thread title and the question have completely opposite meanings.

Darn I accidently voted 'Yes'. Meant to vote 'No'. This is what I hate bout polls you can never update your response. Ferrari event is great fun tho

I love how the people who play this game casually outside of work and family time can now no longer afford the high end cars.

Awesome stuff, PD. A huge pat on the back. I want to buy a Ferrari F1 car so I need to spend hour upon hour grinding. Just what I wanted!

But why grinding? I have more fun with new events that I haven't played before and as I mentioned somewhere else I hope that PD is testing out how the "perfect" seasonal events shall be and therefore they do change the style of them continuously.

I told you so!!! 👍 Thanks PS for listening 👍

those ridiculous payouts were a limited time thing it was like a reward for buying the game retail price and to help those who didnt buy the game in november to catch up. the economy in GT5 is now back to normal now!

ok it's good to take standard cars and race on a level playing field ! However you don t have to. You can thrash the competition with massively suped up cars ! The exp is rubbish ! I can get more points for re doing other races ! The cash is important if you need to buy a £10 or £12.5 mill car to do one race ! Rant over ! I don t have the answer . You cant please all the people all of the time. So just please me! more exp say 50 grand for a difficult 10 lap race, with maybe £150 , 000 credits . I m sure some of you will moan about this for being too much or too little but like I said I don t care. It s about pleasing me :)

Well PD said that the increase would only be for a short time...

I don't see what all the moaning is for, they didn't even havt to increase it to begin with, they colud have left.

Brilliant insight to the mind of the spoilt and bored :

1) He wants FUN (-without the effort)
2) After some more thinking, he decides he wants to know "the total reward credits and total car costs" - but wants someone else to do the work of calculating it.

SBS ? (Spoilt Brat Syndrome?)

re 1). I go to work, most of the money goes to bills, I go to work, pay bills, go to work etc etc etc. My wife buys me a game for Christmas, she & I want the game to be fun, I really don't want to feel like I am at work. So I think you miss the point of why we buy entertainment with cash made form making an effort in life. The game isn't fun anymore for some people (I still love it but only on L28) so they moan a bit, hoping that PD will listen and change things. I agree it is a pretty ineffecient/uneffective way to effect change.

re 2). I had the same thought but if their English was a bit better they probably would have said "It's not worth anyone's time to do so but if anyone, per chance, has already done the sums I would be interested to hear about them."

Not sure either point makes him a SB. Gotta go, on lap 22 of Indy (zzzzzz) so will need to set Bob off again for the tenth time today.

I take it all back with the bonus race seven and a little bit of hard work on a half kitted out motor all the fun of GT5 is again attainable ! Serious credits, Proper EXP points, what more could a man ask for ..... ? Well I m sure a few of you could think of something ;-)

yes i strongly feel the same. with around 300m worth of cars and like 10m of a + b spec reward cash how can we afford the cars we have FUN driving without BORING GRINDING. please can someone calculate the total reward credits and total car costs plz
Seriously? You kids are spoiled brats if you expect everything to be handed to you on a platter.

- Grind your way to 20m like loads of other people did
- Use the game save exploit to buy and fully upgrade cars for free

The total credits and cars required are CLEARLY displayed for you. How about you stop being lazy and calculate it yourself?

Prior to Christmas I did the grind to 20m and despite spending hundreds of millions on cars and upgrades since then, I still have 20m. With the exception of the X2010, I can buy whatever I want, whenever I want, so the game is now PURE FUN. There is no need to grind ever again, and if the rewards in a seasonal event don't cover the cost of the car (like the Ferrari Formula Event etc.). I can use my own cash and save exploit and accept that I will have to do the races over a few days instead of one evening. Big deal.

I honestly don't know what people expect...it seems like they want the rewards of a single race to cover the cost of the car needed for that race. Doesn't work like that, and you have to put some effort in. So grow up, stop whining, and just get on with it FFS.

Nice one Greyum ! You re coating people for being lazy by saying I cheat To make it fun !!!!!!!!! (Because I can t be arsed to do the grinding other people are moaning about !!!) :)
