Yes the payout is ridiculous:indiff:, but I've got more fun using the HP reference than with the other ones seasonal events:dopey:

Though the pay/out is not that good (hoped for some better prize money) I really like the seasonals. Like the way they suggest what car you should use.:) If you go sufficiently below what they suggest you'll sure have some really nice races. I just use the seasonals mostly for driving cars I normally don't drive, so gives me an opportunity to try out several cars.

Pay-out is okay, would prefer some more, but it's the fun that's most important and these races are fun.

Except I can grind existing A-spec events against harder opponents and get considerably higher payouts...

But why grinding? I have more fun with new events that I haven't played before and as I mentioned somewhere else I hope that PD is testing out how the "perfect" seasonal events shall be and therefore they do change the style of them continuously.

WTFFF.... I had like 12 mil creds... spent 7mil expecting next seasonal event I could easily get some of it back so I can buy the F10... now its impossible without grinding... ugh

The point of this, is we asked for more events, they gave us more. We asked for power limits, they gave us power limits, kind of... But agree'd, the difficulty of the A.I. is still the same, weak challenge.... Either way, I think they're trying. But yet everybody is still unhappy... Can't be THAT dissatisfied, you're still playing it, arn't you?

Why do people grind indy just for a little extra money and a quicker but super boring race rather than the 3x 5 lap european races? Rome, Deep forest and Monza They might be just as easy to beat if not easier but the tracks actually give you some racing skill can teach you some stuff and a place to fine tune european cars so they are RTR for online, rather than just turning left. I can lap rome in 0.59 secs consistantly with the peugeot 905 and this is what i grind and i feel I have learned allot about these tracks by doing it this way and have fine tuned dozens of european cars and can use any of them for these races rather than just american cars or x1 or FGT on LTW(I enjoy it so its not really grinding to me).

I know it's probably already been said but the best and fairest way to make these stupid seasonal events any good is to make them applicable to different levelled players. So a level 30 race can only be completed by a level 30+ player. MORE XP SO I DON'T HAVE TO GRIND. PLEASE.

10 mil for what? you spent 10 mil on something? so PD should return that money to you? because you bought osmething with it?

Great idea I will go down to local car dealer buy brand new lambo...then have them give me my money back because I spent it.

I think you are completely missing the point of the poster you quoted. The majority of posters are simply saying that the payout is too low. Now if you argued that most of us already had cars that could win the FF/FR/AWD races, so we don't need a ton of credits, well I would see your point and acknowledge your logic- although I'd disagree. But when it comes to the F1 challenge, the car costs $10M. The car is not eligible for any other races but this challenge due to licensing restrictions. It appears that the total payout for this challenge is a measley $143K. If this is indeed the case, and as most everyone can agree that credits are scarce without grinding, wouldn't it make sense if PD simply awarded you back around $10M for winning the F1 Challenge. I thinks so, and I think that was the point of the poster you were quoting.

If indeed we can run these events (#7) repeatedly, that's great, but it would still take 69 cycles to make back $10M!

Would have been nice for the big payouts to continue, I just spent 20 mill on the Ferrari 330, if I had known the payouts were going to be so low, probably wouldn't have spent that money.

I also kinda liked having to buy a certain car for each race, forced me to buy/drive some cars I normally wouldn't have bothered with.

I wonder what %'s of people who think having to grind is just fine duped/rubberbanded/bday their way to all the cars/credits/xp they wanted already.

I'm happy to get more races and I can choose the car I race, I can make it easy or more of a challenge with the HP guides. This I like. Sure I would have like more money, but mainly I would have preferred more xp. Whilst my bob has soared to level 40 thanks to overnight running, my a spec is languishing around 30 because i don't have the time to grind at the moment. On balance though, I'm happy with the new races (which really should have been in the game to begin with).

mfw people complain about how seasonals rewarded players with too much exp/money
mfw people complain about how seasonals rewarded players with too little exp/money

srs?

You're not following the AUP. SRS?

Without grinding, level 40 is almost impossible. New events every week with the low XP rewards as the last one don't help anything to level up, so it's better to do the auto grind trick (which I haven't done myself yet).

I want cars for the season events, it is hard and it takes me forever to get to a 1000 cars.

*snip*

Instead of throwing bigger payouts on what also would have worked is maybe giving a level X car ticket for winning all 3 races. Like maybe a level 5 for the FF, level 10 for FR, and so on. I think I'd be happy with that.

I would be very happy with that. It could also just be a FR ticket for the FR race, FF for the FF, 4WD ticket for the 4WD race and a ferrari one for the ferrari race?

I'd love to take part in the F1 event, but how am I going to collect 10-12 million, when i have 1.3. I am going to drive the remaining events over and over again for the next 2 weeks? Forget about the classics worth 20 mil. Cash rewards are way to little.

I'd like for everyone in here to take a step back for a moment and try to remember back to October and most of November, 2010, before the release of GT5. Can you remember what it was like without the game? No racing at all? No online, seasonals, A-Spec or B-Spec?
Now we have it, and have bonus content to boot, yet it seems many are displeased still with how PD is conducting their business.
Leave them alone I say, we're lucky to have gotten the game finally and luckier still that we now have all the extras to enjoy. Make the most of it if you can, and if not, go do something else with your time. You're under no obligation to play GT5.
Incessant complaining needs to end, period.

No, I am not satisfied by the poor payout, and I can bet PD changed it because some people thought it was too much.

Oh, I am sorry PD wanted to help you get money to buy more cars, which is something Forza never did nor they ever try.

No sorry I have to rectify that sentence: they are lucky that after 6 years of troubled development and half empty promises, they've managed to sell 5 million copies of GT5. And if I'm not in any obligation to play this game, they have at last one obligation to their customer to finally bring what promised, or face what other developers have faced when started looking elsewhere instead of the reactions of their customers.

Incessant complaining for complaining needs to stop, period :)

Yeah, I do. And? Too bad those things you mentioned have been implemented poorly and GT5 is filled with problems that were easy to prevent.

Now we have it, and have bonus content to boot, yet it seems many are displeased still with how PD is conducting their business.

I don't see why I should feel fortunate to receive a product that falls short to what made the previous games so fun in the first place.

Make the most of it if you can, and if not, go do something else with your time. You're under no obligation to play GT5.

I did and it didn't last long. My sig shows what I'm playing instead. GT games that were fun and lasted for a very long time.

I think that number is probably pretty high. Probably equaled by the number of people who only want to drive Civics and Evo's that cost 50,000 cr at most and therefore have no real need to grind for the millions upon millions of credits required if you want to drive stuff that's not a daily grocery getter POS.

Interesting opinion. By that same logic you are using, I should feel lucky the game wasn't $1000, and have even less features. Anything compared to nothing is not a very strong argument. Nothing was free, this game was $60. Nothing can go on forever, this game took somewhere between 2-6 years to develop, and for many of us, the title is running out of gas. GT5 doesn't exist in a vacuum, it follows other very impressive GT titles. GT5 and it's features were marketed very heavily to increase sales. Other competing race titles have entered the market which now challenge the GT franchise. Many of us want GT5 to carry on the franchise's tradition of being the very best in it's class. Feeling lucky and defending the games shortcomings will not improve the title. No one is under obligation to play the game, just as no one but PD is under any obligation to defend it.

Was PD helping us earn cash for more cars or were they fixing a broken credit system? I mean really, weren't some of the previous bonus race credits shockingly high? Didn't it feel more like a giveaway than "help?"

The reason Forza has never had to give away credits was because their credit system was better thought out, there are more ways to earn credits, and the single player game is much deeper which at least reduces, if not eliminates the need to grind.

Agreed. I may be lucky to have a Gran Turismo to play at all, but if this is the direction PD intends to go with their series, they'll be lucky to get my money again.

This latest round of seasonals is just the latest kick in the nuts. Including $10-12.5 million cars in a seasonal while significantly lowering payouts, which were the only way for a casual gamer like myself to even come close to affording a car half their price, is quite the insult. To top it off, I've been stuck at level 29 for weeks now, hoping I wouldn't have to spend hours grinding out XP to hit level 30. If I was still in school like I was for GT3/GT4, "grinding" wouldn't be the end of the world, but I just don't have time for it at this point in my life. I really hope that EA's Shift 2 is as sim-oriented as it claims to be, so that PD may finally have competition on the PS3 (even if they're still slightly different in focus) and real incentive to bring the product quality up to the standards of games released today.

Apologies to the people upset at the complaining, but I really needed to vent, and this thread seemed like the best place to do it.

I hear you, and don't make apologies for having an opinion and being frustrated, as you can tell by the vast amount of criticism in these forums, you are not alone. I don't know if it was arrogance, or ignorance, but to me it feels that PD has lost touch with their most devout fans and the general direction of semi-simulation racing genre for consoles (true sims are another breed entirely.) As for Shift 2, EA and "great racing games" have been mutually exclusive terms for me for a long time, but perhaps with GT blood in the water the competition will feed. I don't know if you have an Xbox360, but if you do, you should check out Forza 3 and the upcoming (nov.) Forza 4. F3 is by no means a perfect title, but if you enjoy racing you'll be pleased. Also, pick up the F3 Ultimate Edition, it includes all the DLC to date for only $30 (new!) Forget the endless GT5 vs. Forza debate and just own both . . . there is much to appreciate.

I'm fed up. Thank you.

Really lame set of events, pointless bothering, I get more out of grinding races.
