I've seen mention of these. Will they be similar to Gran Turismo (and Forza as well, I assume) in that there will be special events online (Time Trials, Races, etc)?

Yes. There will be TTevents where you have a predefined car/track combo. Not sure about races, didn't have those so far, I'm not sure they make sense either, since unlike GT there are no credits to unlock cars.

Love the Time Trials. Really hoping the the GTP WRS branches toward pCARS.

Will the Seasonals be shared between all of the platforms? Pipe dream, I suppose, but wouldn't it be nice to compete in a TT versus folks playing the Wii, PS4, XBone and PC.

^ It would be nice, but unfortunately it's not going to happen.

Edit: As Jump_Ace suggested here, GTP could do an offline challenge with a car/track combo, trading times. That could work as a cross platform Time Trial.
