Said no one ever.

Until now

I don't care for new tracks or game modes, but I pray to God PD gets the sound of this car right

If rFactor can get it right there's no excuse for PD

2 things:

1. That was done by modders, not the people that made rFactor

2. You're setting yourself for disappointment if you think "they better get this sound right".

I sincerely hope they don't just use X car sounds for the 97T, but having said that I think we should wait for the car to arrive before we tear it's sound to shreds, after all the X cars sounded a lot better than anyone expected.

It will probably have the Red Bull X sound.
No, the Lotus had a twin exhaust (as it uses the later Renault twin-turbo engine); neither V6 Red Bull sound fits - the Standard is like an NSX, the Fan like a 350Z; although the difference is null in the high rev range due to the rasp effect dominating. Speaking of which, the exhaust rasp thing that is shared amongst all the Red Bull cars doesn't fit, either.

They will probably use the same / similar sample scheme the Hudson has, unless they bring the all-new sounds at the same time. Which is unlikely.

Yeah but PD will use it anyway.

Yeah that was my point. If modders with limited resources can get it to sound that good, there's no excuse for PD who actually gets access to the car and uses proper recording equipment to get it wrong. I'm already setting up myself for disappointment, but there is still hope. As others have mentioned, the latest RedBull X cars shows that they're going in the right direction.

You're getting expectations confused with hopes and dreams, I think.

Not really. Hopes and dreams are more nebulous. Expectations are things that you reasonably expect to happen. They're all on the same scale I guess, but hopes and dreams are at one end and expectations are at the other.

Investing emotion and passion in hopes and dreams can be a road to disappointment, because they might not happen. If they were more attainable, they wouldn't be hopes and dreams. Expectations are more solid, and it's more sensible to invest significant emotion in them.

Take this upcoming DLC as an example. We have no idea what's in it, apart from that it somehow relates to Senna's career. It's pretty hard to be passionate about that, because what's there to be passionate about? We don't know anything, and there's a pretty wide range of what that DLC could end up being.

Any passion about the DLC is based upon Polyphony's reputation, the expectation that they will produce a quality product because they're Polyphony. Still not hopes and dreams, though.

I can hope all sorts of things will be in the DLC, but what drives my passion is my strongest beliefs as to what the DLC will likely contain, my expectations for it.

I was talking about the use of Forza exemple , you can't compare ( in FM5 cars are fully detailed, I mean there is something under the hood and wheels are link to the car if he want to compare GT and moreover the engines are not vacuum cleaners )
GT6's car's parts are individually modelled, they most likely also modelled the engine bits and the other opening stuff like the doors but aren't using these features yet until the cars require higher quality in GT7.

I don't know if it has been said already, but on the introduction movie of the game, you can see Viviane Senna speaking, with a blurry background where you can see a McLaren MP4 with the top photoshoped to erase Marlboro sporsorship.

In the recent film, you can see the same picture but with a clear background of the McLaren MP4 with the Marlboro sponsorship on his top.

I don't want to say anything, just a detail :) An attempt to hide tobacco sponsorship like "Team Lotus Special" instead of "John Player Special" on the Lotus 97T pictures.

That's because alcohol/tobacco sponsorships aren't allowed in games.

Yes I thought, but before watching the film I didn't realised that there was a McLaren MP4 on that background, and I have watched the introduction movie many times haha

A livery editor would fix that problem :(

Usually the Marlboro ads were covered by barcodes back in the day. They could do the same here.
Are you telling to me that the barcodes of the Ferrari F1 few years ago were Marlboro sponsorship?

No. But they were investigated over it, so there may have been some secret messaging going on.

"In April 2008, Marlboro displayed explicit on-car branding on Ferrari for the last time, now permanently replaced with a variety of barcodes in place of it. Now there are calls from leading health officials, the European Commissioner for Health and influential doctors for a review of the subliminal advertising contract Marlboro has with Advertising Guerrilla and Ferrari, due to the implications of influencing the purchase of cigarettes with possible subliminal advertising, as no tobacco products can be promoted in sporting events in Europe by law. The Ferrari team claims the barcode is part of the car design, not an advertising message.

The controversial barcode design was recently removed by Ferrari for the start of the Spanish Grand Prix in the 2010 season but the barcode remains on drivers team gear."

So you're saying they've modeled the cars underneath but aren't letting us see them in any mode? I highly doubt it.

No, I'm pretty sure PD just haven't modelled cars to that detail yet. I don't know if they're still like it in GT6 but in GT5 the inside of wheels weren't even modeled, and those are visible for everyone to see. It was just a solid, flat texture on the inside of wheels.

Remember the Subaru bonnet removal in GT5? And there was an engine there?
