If there is going to be a race added in with the content for use with the car, does anyone suspect that the old F1 cars from GT3 may return? Or is the 97T getting a base model? Just wild speculation I'm throwing out- nothing factual at all.

I just realized the absurdity of us speculating whether or not we'll be able to have a race with additional content in a racing game :O

"You think there will be some races ?"

Madness

I think an integration in A-Spec/Career mode, like in the Forza series is what we mean, it didn't happen in GT5, there's no clue it will happen in GT6, neither a clue it won't

I hope they include Interlagos and other cars that Senna drove.

We have newer model of Mercedes 190E in dealership already (standard) used in this race. 2.5 instead of Senna's 2.3 but otherwise should be almost identical. For the kicks I took it to the Nurburgring :p

Imaginary Senna content FTW

edit:

found this here :

"Compared to the production cars the transmission was adjusted to 4.08:1 instead of standard 3.07:1 so that they reached a top speed of 190 kph. In comparison, the Nardo car transmission was 2.65:1 to reach top speed at 260km/h. Furthermore the cars were 15mm lower, had a rollcage, racing tires, exhausts were changed too. But the cars kept their electrical seat adjustment."

LAP TIMES

"Senna, the winner, had a best lap of 2 minutes 13.54 seconds. Surtees, back in 11th spot was only 0.15 sec off that pace, and Hill was just 0.97 sec slower than Senna, with a 2:14.51."

And that was the circuit layout at the time:

No.

It better not be cordoned off in its own vehicular section like the Fezs in GT5.

May I ask why? Apart from the X1s (which were also in their own section), what can keep up with an F1 car? Honestly the cars had nothing else to race against and it looks to be the same with the Lotus 97T.

dream on... it will sound like (you know what)... unfortunately. if you want good sound for this exact car, go Project Cars, IRacing or even AC (when they will revise their own sound engine after 1.0 release). GT version will be indeed gorgeous but the sound will be a disgrace (as usual).

this new content will bring back some of the fastest drivers in the game because most of them were fans of the Ferrari F1's. I'd be looking at the top of the leader boards on seasonal events in GT6 for some different names coming soon

Even if the engine/exhaust sound itself is good you can be sure like pretty much every car in GT it will be missing the 'extras'. The crackles, the pops, the fizzes, the spluttering.

There's no way they'd add that just for one car, I think, no. I'd be surprised if they did it, to "most people's" satisfaction, even if they redesigned the whole sound system from the ground up, though.

So it's fair to conclude that you won't be satisfied by the sound of this car?

Me neither. No matter how good the exhaust note is, all the bells and whistles won't be there, sound-wise. As Samus says, the crackles, pops and fizzes will be missing. The sounds of the gearbox and everything else. The squeals and whines and whistles that really make the whole thing more visceral.

And getting the game engine to generate those noises not only dynamically but authentically is very difficult, and I suspect as far as PD is concerned it's either Right or it's Wrong... not Wrong, but but a bit better if it's got incorrect fizxes, pops and whines.
