Senna Tribute turned into a mockery

What would happen if you took a real racing driver, put him in an accurate sim, then let him run around on a track he just ran an actual race on with appropriate tires?

What happens if you take a military jet pilot and put him into a good PC simulator, like MSX? He'll tell you it's just "like the real thing" and it's a good practice for him. The difference between me and him being, he can hop on the real thing and perform just as well, wherein I'd have to train years (as he did) to do even the most basic turn without blacking out and meeting the side of a mountain at transsonic speeds.

The same applies here. Only because a racing driver will do times that are very close to his real times, doesn't mean that you could do the opposite (do on a real cars times that are close to your GT or pCARS). I'd be willing to fork someone real money to put you on a LMP2 car just to prove my point and see you being minutes off your pCARS pace.

I have no idea what you're on about. I was responding generally to this post above mine (key phrases in bold):
It's alright though, Gran Turismo has never been really very lifelike with laptimes, even the best of simulators are off.. I remember a practice session about 1-2 years back where they stated they had estimated a certain time in the Mclaren Simulator (with Gary Paffet) and the actual time on track turned out to be very different. Even the best simulators in the world get it wrong. It's not that surprising that a 1000 + car game with a generic physics engine designed to run on the PS3 is going to be a little off.

My point is that when driving a 1200 hp open-wheel monster the accuracy of the simulation is only a factor, and the fact that we can lap as fast as or faster than Senna doesn't mean anything. And that of course a real-life racing driver in his own car will do a very similar laptime to what he does in reality (assuming the simulator is decent enough), because he will apply his own skills and experience; but while the transition from real-life driving to a videogame is easy and will produce predictable results, the opposite doesn't apply.

But I didn't read the post above you, therefore I had no clue you were actually answering to someone who proposed the opposite theory (that no current simulator can lead, in the context described above, to predictable results) . My bad.

I never said anything about making the transition from videogame to real life racing driver...but since you mention it...GTAcademy:lol:
