I think the secret track is the Top Gear Test Track, here's why:

1. Famous track in Europe
2. Never been used for a seasonal event
3. In the UK, just like D.C
4. Mentioned by Top Gear
5. Stig Suit demanded by many fans (secret prize here for sure)

How I'd love it to be Spa... But, better than nothing, right? It'll be fun. 👍

Damnit. Well, i guess we are dealing with Kaz here, so dont get your hopes up

I like how your avatar really does fit in with your statement. :dopey:

That's correct, this event will be held at a track that's already in the game.

TGTT for sure,
Maybe a new weather condition for this track.
The track is in the UK, yet it's always sunny lol.
After this event they might give this track a change weather and time option.

Wait, i didnt get it. Are we all able to drive against coulthard, but only the chosen 24 from Uk can win. Did I get it right?

According to GTP's very own Famine attendees are told to meet at a location that happens to be near the Top Gear Test Track...

"...it just says he'll (DC) be at a world famous track in Europe. The Top Gear Test Track, for example, is world famous, in Europe and already in the game. And curiously nearby where the attendees of the event have been told to go..."

I'm currently getting some practice in online now!

Good luck to everyone from GTP who takes part!

The TGTT is not exactly world famous... it is just the test track of a british tv show, with very limited worldwide broadcasting.

They've only got about 250 million viewers, guess you can call that limited broadcasting.

So do the rest of us who haven't registered (and can't turn up at some random location at 3:20pm on a work day) still get something to play with in the seasonals? Perhaps a ghost opponent based on DC's best lap or something?

I was about to say it's one of the most watched TV shows worldwide...

I asked the same thing in one of the plethora of threads (one should be enough) about this and got no answer. It'll be 10 AM my time and I really need the sleep on my day off, so it'd be cool to know.

I'm guessing it's going to be at the High Speed Ring. :p
And I wonder too if they will have something else for us not able to attend Monday.

Wtf do you mean, man in California?

I think he is saying you are all the way around the world and know of it, hence, world famous.

It may not be world famous for the general public but I would say for racing and automotive enthusiasts it is world famous.

At 15:20 (BST) on the afternoon of Monday 5 September 2011, David Coulthard will take the wheel of a real 6.3 litre V8 powered Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG......

It's actually 6.2 litres badged as 6.3.

That's a strangely wild guess, since it doesn't even exist in real life and makes no pretense of being anywhere in Europe.
As for anyone not being able to attend live (i.e anyone with a full time 9-5 job), maybe we'll get to race against a ghost based on DC's telemetry. Wishful thinking, probably.

Thats right. My point was just that its fame cannot be compared to that of other tracks being mentioned here as possible venues.

I bet it is Tsukuba

I bet you're wrong.

TGTT (maybe), Nurgurgring (most likely as he's in a Merc) or Monza (an outside bet and probably only being suggested as the GP is there this coming weekend).

The track going to be reveal at 15:00pm and then we've got 20 min. practice session

From Granturismo facebook page

"The GT5 Mercedes-Benz Driving Event takes place today from 15.20 BST. Former F1 race winner and DTM star David Coulthard throws down the gauntlet to GT5 racers. Race him around the infamous secret track by taking part in the Mercedes Driving Event on the GT5 ‘Seasonal Events’ menu. The car and track will be announced at 15.00 BST allowing you a 20 minute practice session before the main event takes place. A global live leaderboard of the event will be viewable on gran-turismo.com from 15.20"

So, its going to be a Real track that already available in Gran Turismo,
most likely a european track.
This is gonna be cool, after the twenty minute practice, do we only get one lap?

How many laps that they got on the actual Top Gear show?

If you log onto the Mercedes-Benz Live Race site, it says the Current Temp is 13 degrees and sunny.
If you check the weather forcast for Dunsfold (Top Gear Test Track) it is (you guessed it) 13 Degrees.

From Martin Brundle on Twitter:

On my way to present #MBLiveRace. DC on track versus virtual racers on consoles. Will be interesting assuming I ever get round M25
