I 98% sure it's gonna be the Top Gear track! Time to start practising...
 
In the interview DC does on The GT web site He Actually say's it will be on a real race course on a secret location in the UK.............Thats already in the game.............There is only one UK track...........Topgear test track

According to GTP's very own Famine attendees are told to meet at a location that happens to be near the Top Gear Test Track...

Just for clarity, I type in indigo rather than purple and I have no inside information beyond knowing the relative positions of Mercedes-Benz World - which is where the attendees are meeting - and Dunsfold Aerodrome - the location of the Top Gear Test Track.

20 miles apart, in fact, almost equidistant from Guildford

That's not to say that is what DC will be lapping and what the competitors will be virtually attempting to beat, but it is a world famous track and it's already in the game. That doesn't preclude the possibility that we're about to get a new, also world-famous track, but that, realistically, what is occurring can occur with the stuff we already have and expecting new stuff (particularly with the notion that it's revealed at 3pm and we all get 20 minutes to download an wholly new circuit at the same time, killing the server, and practice on it before the 3.20pm start) is not wise.

Anyway, I'm highly convinced that it's TGTT, but aren't PD 'not allowed' to use the name after Turn 10 got the license as well?
 
Who's betting once it starts at 15:20, we'll have 2 weeks to do our times :lol:
 
PD might try to send him around the London track. Then put everyone online in the same room and the traffic will be the same. ;)
 
According to Legard it is raining at the Top Gear Track and he reckons the gamers will need some form of handicap to make it fair on DC. One way or the other I don't think it would have ever been fair. I'm pretty sure the gamers will be 4 - 5 seconds faster even on Sports hard tires.

Yes but does DC have to dodge the guy doing donuts in the Tank Car? ;)
 
The Top Gear Test Track is used in a wet version in a licence test, I wonder what prevents from using that in other game modes as well.

Was thinking that myself too. Wouldn't be too hard to implement. With that said, it will probably be trickiest lap ever if that is the case. The SLS is a bit of a handful as it is and the TGTT was never straightforward either. Would make sense to make it really though. Then again, do the organizers want footage of people spinning out constantly?

Not everyone knows where the M25 goes... care to enlighten us? It would be neat if PD really did introduce a new track to the game... Silverstone? Goodwood? Donnington?

M25 is huge Motorway round greater london, only two tracks in the UK close to the M25.

Brands Hatch and TGTT.. Brands Hatch not in GT5. which leaves TGTT, which is close to M25 and Merc World.



Also the TGTT has weather in game and real life.

I read this and had thoughts of a real world track not open to elements... Indoor racing anyone? Or a huge roof.

- can you compete in this after the set time (i.e. once Coulthard has finished doing his laps, how long do we get to enter - 1 week?)

- do we get a free car for running this event - i.e. same as the GT Academy setup?

So TGTT is on GT5, but DTM ran at Brands Hatch yesterday ;)
 
If it is at TGTT, I'm screwed! just ran a 1.15.xxx in practice, and the back end was all over the place.

- 3 Weeks before closing.

- Nobody knows yet - During the last seasonal with the NASCARs you didn't need to buy any cars as they gave you them to use (although not keep). We might get a car as prize and/or as you say like the Academy a special liveried version. There is a SLS Stealth version, so Mercedes seem okay with PD creating liveries for it. We'll see...

Says it finishes at 23:30pm UK time.

Im sure you will have to use the car just like most other seasonal
 
If you're in the game yet will you have to restart / update first or just enter the seasonal section at 4 pm...does anyone know how this will work (yet)?

I was just about to ask this. I'm thinking I will enter the game in 12 minutes, just to be safe.

This Seasonal as two diferent challenges:

- For UK residents over 17 a special challenge today with a real world prize, a full paid 5 star trip to Brazillian GP with Mercedes.

- Everybody else, something like the regular TT, available for 2 weeks

I know it won't be Brands, but I would love it if it was! My favourite track, 25 mins away from me, and I was there yesterday too!

Where is it? I can't find it.

EDIT: I mean I know its in the Seasonal tab, it just wasn't there when I looked. Restarting and trying again.
