Cars that are affordable, current and popular. Cars that you see many times in the course of the day. Fords, Corollas, Hyundais, Fiats and Hondas. That in your opinion are ahead of their class in their design.

I may be slightly biased.

In the US right now, Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger. The Charger's not bad looking either, though I don't know the prices on any of these. I see lots of Corvettes every day too, but they don't really fit your 'affordable' requirement, I think.

Sadly, most everything else is either a truck, SUV, van, or the oh-so-popular "Let's all have the same basic mushed lumpy teardrop shape, but throw on different headlights and grill so we don't look exactly like our competition" option that every single carmaker seems to be doing now.

I always felt they hit the nail right on the head with the 6th gen Accord. Yes, it's incredibly unobtrusive, but it is just so cohesive and complete:

I may be slightly biased.

The US version of the new Mazda 6 doesn't look nearly that good and it makes me sad.

I humbly submit this car for your consideration:

I think the Renault Megane Coupe is a good looking everyday car, I even think the 5-door version looks good:

The best of the lot...

EDIT: Actually maybe that front grill isn't great but otherwise it's a stunner better than the Audi TT in my opinion.

Both of my gorgeous babes! Whilst driving in Big Sur, California.

They've become such a usual sight by now... Never thought that would happen when VW first introduced the new Scirocco. Then again, its looks have been growing on me ever siince.

Mini Cooper

 no. I look at one every day, it's not even close to good looking, let along seriously good looking.

I rather like the new generation Fusion, even the first generation ones weren't too bad in the looks department. The grill does look like a Gillet razor but at least the car has style on it and it's not just 16ft of boringness.

I also rather like the Ford Edge Sport, it is aggressive but it isn't god awful (at least in my opinion). The red isn't the best colour on it but that dark blue looks ace, especially with the right wheels.

I've always thought that VW did a wonderful job styling the MKIV Jetta:

I'd also say that Chevrolet did a great job with making the Volt look like a standard car, but carry clever design features to set it apart from the rest of the small car fleet:

Weirdly enough I like the look of the FG Falcon, particularly the G6 (aside from the wheels):

Kia Cerato Koup (wouldn't have one for as long as I live but it sure looks pretty):

Bit more "premium" as such but I've seen a few of these going around and they look fabulous:
