And it doesn't have a V8...am I correct? The first-gen SHO had a Yamaha headed 3.2 V6 and the "spaceship" Taurii had a Yamaha 3.4 V8. Confirmation anyone?

i believe so, the sho in gt2 sounded like a camaro or something (with stock exhaust) it was one of my favorites

First generation SHOs with an automatic had a 3.2L six. The original SHO, when it debuted in 1989, was manual-only, and had a 3.0L version of the same engine. Both the 3.0L and 3.2L made 220hp. The automatic wasn't introduced until '93, after the car went under a mild redesign for '92.

And yeah, the "ovoid" SHO Taurii had a 3.4L V8 (235hp). It only came with an automatic though.

As for GT4, it all goes back to Polyphony desperately needing an adept North American on their staff. Their choice of North American cars is appalling. The original Taurus SHO was far better than the last one (the one they included).
