Why do we have a career mode then, if we have tried most of the cars already? I find it fun restarting the career mode as do a lot of other people. It's fun because the level of progression there is when buying cars. A bunch of casuals get annoyed that it has to be that way, should we care what they say even though THAT really is what GT has been about since the beginning? Don't even bring up seasonal events. First of all, the easy cash could be possible because of the casuals or because of the people with not enough time to get the cars they want. And GT5's the only game where it's been this easy to gain credits. This thread refers to what we want, not in GT5, but in the series.
I'd say money came easier in GT2 where cars cost less overall, were slightly less in number (though more varied), and were actually available (no UCD).
I don't care about GT's history, and what GT is about is up for debate. However, the whole progression thing can exist on its own even if PD introduces a free mode. The extra work involved in making this happen would be trivial. I don't see why this even needs to be discussed when both sides can be pleased.
