Which is the problem.
eran0004Now you wait for it to appear.
Now you wait for it to appear. It will probably be weeks or even months. Keep calm and do some racing while you wait.
Of course it's not realistic. Neither is driving on two different tracks on the same day.

Thinking now, with arcade's current setup, wouldn't it take forever to find a certain car? The current setup allows 100 cars in without too much hastle of locating them, as they're organized by horsepower levels...and i never paid enough attention on non favorites arcade to figure out how its done there.
To implement every car into arcade would require a new approach on organization. PD isn't what i would call keen on implementing past ideas into newer games if they could do it differently, but GT4's system is still being used for the NCD so i guess it would be a possibility.
Why should our freedom to drive any car in arcade be restricted because some people have short attention spans? I mean, should endurance races be removed because some people don't have the focus to do them in order to 100% the game?
But one thing PD can do to make finding the car you want quicker is to again, take a page from Forza and not only arrange cars by manufacturer like Simon said, but also implement the sorting options for your garage in GT Life into arcade mode as well.
You are complaining about having to scroll through cars yet you want a bigger favorites list? The way the favorites list is now, all of your cars are sorted out by power. If I want to get to my faster cars in favorites I have to spend time going all the way to the back instead of being able to sort them out to find what I want quicker. How's that really any different than scrolling through a bunch of Miatas?
How is selecting a car from a manufacturer page like the NCD worse and slower than a random huge list? I don't understand your logic at all.
Now you wait for it to appear. It will probably be weeks or even months. Keep calm and do some racing while you wait.
Isn't practice mode for this?
To the remark about people with short attention spans, this isn't entirely true. Just because someone doesn't want to spend most of the time weeding through cars just for a quick race, doesn't mean they have a short attention span, they are just more limited in time compared to some.
My logic is based on the existing system, not a theoretical one! The OP refers to GT5, not GT6, anything else is just wishing.
I don't have time to wait for a car to randomly appear.
Is this Pokemon or Gran Turismo?

Look at the trading forum, it's scary. I honestly think a large amount of people do treat this as a collecting game, either that or they have OCD. Why else would you collect hundreds of driver helmets and car horns?
The funny thing is, I don't have a problem with any of it. If I don't like it, I just don't use it. Would be nice if those against the proposed Arcade Mode changes had a similar perspective.
You keep your "gotta catch'em all" style game and I enjoy my "want to actually drive the cars in a car game"" style game, in Arcade Mode.
Who loses?
You've forgotten that it isn't your right to play the game the way you want. It is their right (as it has been since GT5 came out, of course) to dictate the terms that you play the game under.Who loses?
They also added a 'suspend race' feature in the Endurance races, not everyone has 24hs to sit a a game.
Everything that I've said is based on them using the same method they use now, the horizontal list! Having a bigger favorites list is very different than having more than 1000 cars to weed from. You don't provide a good enough argument for me to think otherwise.
Nah, it takes away the thrill of finally finding the car you want to drive in the used car lot.
SimonKNo because you can only drive cars you own there.
Seriously, how long do you think it's going to take for someone to select a car with proper menus?
But it's common sense that if they were going to add such an update PD COULD change things design wise, they already have the code in place for the NCD, it just needs moving over to arcade with some changes. Obviously it makes no sense for them to just add the other 900+ cars to the current list and be done with it. I don't think the OP or anyone else was suggesting they do that.
I mean in reality I think this thread probably should be in GT6 because they're highly unlikely to change GT5 now but even if they did, theoretically there is nothing stopping them completely changing the car select setup in arcade.

Then why have arcade mode at all. Just stay in GT Mode and unlock cars there. In my opinion, yes, all cars should be available in Arcade Mode, but not from the very start of the game.
In GT5, the only thing that locks a (new) car from being bought is your current level. But, I can buy a X2011 once I'm level 40 even if I didn't do a single license test. While they won't change this in GT5 anymore, I think PD should give the license tests and your current level importance (plus, the level system should not have an end, and there should be no division between A-Spec and B-Spec).
One of the things where your license and your current level matter would be the arcade mode. You can drive any 'ordinary' streetcar from level 0 without a license, sports cars from let's say level 10 (considering there will be a lot more levels showing a lot more detailed how much progress the player does, so you should be able to reach level 10 within 2-3 evenings playing the game), supercars (such as Ferrari or Lamborghini) from level 20 with a National B license, going on like this with semi-race prepared, than complete race cars up to a certain power level, followed by race cars beyond this power level, and (maybe with some steps in-between) finally the ultimate class available from level 100 with an S-license (which has actually challenging tests...) including Formula cars (if PD either get more licensed real ones or rather create a new Formula GT as Premium with enough liveries available (or even enable the player to create their own ones) and the X-class (which could be a nice basis for a complete race series).
With all that being said, I agree this is more of a Gran Turismo 6 thing.
All of this restricted to Arcade mode would not affect GT-Mode in any way what so ever, leaving that mode to be played as it has always been played. As a separate entity to Arcade Mode.
