Should GT5 damp A-spec and Expand special events?

I'd rather see a greater number of both as well but if I had to choose one it would be A-Spec events. Anything would be an improvement really, greater number of options, some cars are barely used.

I guess. But you know how people are with doing two things at once? Gotta be perfect or your 80% incomplete.
Maybe Seasonal Events then. I think it's easier.
EDIT: Though you where talking about Seasonals...FAIL! :grumpy:
I'd prefer Special anyway.

A-spec is nice too. If they could let you chose AI agressiveness like in arcade mode that would do a lot. And then they can focus on more special events :)

What about the people with no internet that only play offline lol
No A-spec means nothing for them to do but watch B-spec bob smash up their cars.

What baffles me is why do people want A-spec expanded? So many people claim the AI suck and seasonal events are just basically the same thing with better prizes, so why not just do the seasonals as PD releases them? Its technically adding to A spec since it counts to towards your A-Spec level.. I do want PD to get more creative with their usage of seasonal events, with the exception of the Real World Circuit Tours and Ferrari F1 seasonal, they're all recycled from A-Spec, if PD came up with brand new themes and ideas for seasonal events and kept the prizes at a reasonable amount, I don't see a reason for PD to add to A spec. At least thats how I see it.

I'm with you on this.

They can, if they bring their PS3 to a friend or something and download a A-spec update (if ever released). ;)
That is actually very correct. I'll actually do it myself tomorrow :D My net makes the patches give an error after installing.

Seasonal rivals mode ala fm4 :).
Pd had he idea with the rivals trophy but like so much else......well, we've been there to many times already.

I thought the seasonals were A-Spec races?
Either way id be okay if they add one make races to all car dealerships. And a few more of the special events from gt4 .
If they keep adding races every week GT5 will catch up to the amount of races gt4 had... sooner or later .. eventually :)
They also need to add arcade options to the gt life mode.
Because I only race in arcade mode now.

We at first need real races! Not the "Overtake all in one round" stuff we have now. Its boring.
I guess this kind of what my point was, If PD was to get creative by adding different kinds of seasonals with different themes(Le Mans 24 Minutes, Camaro Vs Mustang, Ferrari Vs Lamborghini) and add diffrent kinds of races(rolling starts side by side, grid starts) then I don't see a reason to add to A-spec. Maybe they should start adding prize cars/tickets as well like the Gran Turismo Experts seasonal from awhile back.

Keep Special Events the way it is and just expand A-Spec. I'd love to see an A-Spec endurance race at Spa-Francorchamps.

Expand A-Spec, make it even larger than what was put in GT4.

I'd love them to reintroduce the Specials Conditions Hall from GT4. I loved that place, except I was awful on the gravel rally's, but still had fun 👍

A-spec is the reason I buy GT games . As it's been said not everyone plays online or has their PS3 constantly hooked up to the internet . The skimpy offline single player gameplay has been my number one problem with GT5 from day one . GT4 had over 500 races . I hope the future (update or GT6) won't be quite so focused on online features . But that's just my take.

Not to mention anyone that dare not have internet, or those unlucky enough to be able to even download 1.2 gigs. 💡

I've said this before.... If I couldn't go online, I wouldn't be playing GT5, at all. I quit after a month and a half when I didn't have internet, because the game sucks without it.

If PD really expanded the seasonals to the level A-Spec is, but was constantly adding to them, I can't see why anyone would want to play the regular A-Spec anymore?

Seasonals pay more, offer more variety etc. etc.

They just need to add rewards like cars and tickets for seasonals and group them into categories like A-spec is now and then it would be perfect

Do you live in a world where everyone has internet access or something?
I find it ridiculous as it is how bad the game is without internet, let alone making it absolutely useless.

Sony estimates 80% of PS3's are connected, any reason Sony and PD should just screw over 20% (1.2 million) of GT5 players more then they already have?

Seasonals are there as a bonus and to make up for the lack of a game PD released, even with patching they can never serve a better product to as much as 20% of their customers.

Due to the fact that quite a few people don't have access to the Internet but most of those people would have limited access through a friend etc then wouldn't it be a good idea to have the seasonal events stored on your hard drive so you could access them without being connected to the net ? Then all you would have to do is go and download the seasonal update if you wanted it.

The best thing about A spec in my opinion was the championships. If they could do a seasonal championship with a big prize at the end. They could of done it with the new(ish) FGT seasonal.

This. I'm okay with the variety of themes (loved the nostalgic supercars) but I don't understand these rolling start events where you're half a minute behind from the start. I always need an overpowered car to win. It makes no sense. And it's not much fun. I sometimes try to recreate the conditions of the expert seasonals in those races. But yeah. Grid starts would definitely be better.
