Should I Upgrade to a G27, or stay with my DFGT?

Is there any real difference between the two, ive never used any wheel other than my own? Or should i just keep my Driving Force GT wheel?

I would upgrade (I have a G25) as it is a better wheel and better pedals that the DFGT

If you have the money, definitely upgrade to the g27. It's literally nothing like the dfgt. I find it easier to drift with the dfgt though because the force feedback is not as strong.

If you have the money and feel like buying a G27, do it. What you do with your money isn't for us to decide. I personally would just stick with the DFGT, it works fine. Upgrade if it breaks or something.

Im thinking of buying a g25, and i have a question.
If your using sequential gearbox, can you use the clutch? I.e. Clutch kick.

I highly doubt you can clutch kick on a G25, I have a G27 and the clutch is about 75% useless for drifting, I actually think that no clutch setup works including Fanatecs and possibly even the ThrustMaster T500RS. There is just an issue with releasing the clutch whilst wheels are spinning and when over a certain RPM.

Yeah, shifting with my g27 gets pretty annoying if you're trying to rev up into the next gear. It's annoying because it works for downshifting when you're heel and toeing

I have to say that the G25 is better for drifters because of the sequential mode! you'll never be able to drift like that with upshifting while drifting with the h shifter and clutch. I highly recommend to get a G25 if drifting is the main thing you like to do with it.

Keep your DFGT, it's not a bad wheel but look for a G25. I were in the same position like you with my old DFP and I'm happy that I got a new G25

It won't go into gear if the revs are too high, but that's realistic.
If you "rev up" on upshifts in a real car, you'll kill the gearbox/clutch/driveline in no time.
Drifting H-pattern is more difficult than using sequential, because the power drops off between gears, but for me, easy is not fun. Realism is fun...

First off you can change to any gear at any RPM. Secondly, yes i does put excess strain on drive parts but these are the first parts usually re-inforced on a drift setup to deliver this to the tyres more than anything. Of course a good driver matters too.

Finally yes it is more difficult using H-shift but it's also actually easier to drift in real life than on GT5. There is no realism to the clutch whatsoever other than when driving at average pace like cruising etc. Clutch kicking is an important and very common technique used in all forms of motorsport.

Sweeet. I was looking at DFGT's on ebay yesterday and didn't realise how cheap they were. One went for £50 with a copy of GT5! So i'll be getting one in a couple of weeks or so.

I use a G27 for drifting and for me its easy as i come from being a great racer, to a pretty confident drifter with the G27. with proper technique you can cluth kick and use rev gains to drop traction on the rear tyres it just takes a stig like mind to have that amount of car controll and ability its not easy but fun and rewarding just gotta practice. but in my oppion UPGRADE exspecially if your a racer and drifter like me the G27 is weel worth it seeings as i come from using a G25it is better then any other wheel imo

heres a question what force feed back level should i learn drift with on my g25
