*caugh* I really don't care for being a mod or not. The main problem with being a mod is that you're constant flame material. Then again, with all the stuff both Klos and myself have said, I think we're both flame material anyway, just for what we say.

I just want to say that the GT4 forum looks alot better now than it did in december when I registered this username. 👍 I don't think we should punish n00bs, without n00bs there wouldn't be a GTP. Sure, the stuff they post sometimes gets really old, really fast, i.e what will be the best car in gt4? or will this be there, when will it come out, but you can't punish them. so, no. the mods are doing fine.

I can't believe the poll closed on completely level pegging!!

Congrats to the Mods who have tidied stuff up...

I think a greater understanding of the report button has helped as I have used it a couple of times to aid the Mods... whereas before I never used it...

Is this helpful for you Mods? Or has there been to much usage of the report button?

C.

It's very helpful to us. :)👍 In fact, if anything, there's an under-usage of it... we only get a handful (maybe 3) reports a day on average, and there are obviously more problems than that. Of course, when 9 people report the exact same post, it's annoying, but that happens very, very rarely. Anyway, please use it, by all means!

I, for one, raise a glass to the moderating team here - or the "Super-moderating team", as they all are now. But in sn00pie's case it's to poor a full pint of Duvel over his head.

*Just kidding, sn00pie. I haven't got the heart to be as mean to you as Doug is...

Yeah. Now you mention it, Doug is really mean to me. :(

And stop wasting beer. That's a first offense for you for wasting beer and not acknowledging that the only beer worth wasting is Oranjeboom, which you will never have heard of, and will keep not hearing of, oops, right, except for this one time.

Count the commas.

I reckon Famine will be familiar with Oranjeboom - I am and I have seen it at some pubs in Yorkshire.

Was there a suspiciously penetrating eau d'or of vomit hanging in the air in these pubs?

Well from what I can remember the pubs weren't the classiest of places !!! Not that Famine has a habit of visiting non-classy places, I dont think !!!

I've just changed something in the GT4 forum. Click on the "new thread" button and you're redirected to this page. We'll see if it helps out a bit more.

Excellent!

Now we just need one in the GT3 forum, the GT3 Drifting forum and the Cars in General forum and we're sorted...

Good going, Captain.

Yeah, I have to agree with that. There was a rash of video threads posted recently in the GT3 forum. Almost everyone of them would've been answered in the Video sticky that is on the forum.

I tink this new page is a great idea since new members only tend to see what they "want" to see.

Wow, that's genuis! Great idea, Jordan. 👍

You missed the " New Thread " button link on the lower part of the page, that button still links to the new thread.

Oops! The bottom link has now been fixed.

💡

Why don't we just make a new "newbie" pert of GTP where only new members can post in, and once they have a) been authorised by a mod or b) got enough posts to not be a new member, they can't post in that area anymore?
Newbies ask Newbies questions, Newbies answer Newbies questions.

Uh, most noobs can't answer any questions. That's why thery're called noobs.

Should I report this message?

Darin just pointed out the GT4 section change to me - all I could say was "...omg...".

👍

Yea.

Everyone if you click "Make new thread" in the GT4 forum, it gives you a notice to search... thats freaking awesome.

Great stuff Jordan! The only problem is that I never noticed it before today because I was using GTP Lite! If you could change those link it would be great. (Although I would be surprised that a new member would use GTP Lite ;) )

Duh! :dunce: How could I forget that, I'll change it now.

Hey Jordan, what if there was some time limit, say being a member for 6+ months, and then you don't have to get the search page? The best way to go around it would be to not even advertise the 6 month thing, just have users learn it out on their own. That way new users can make posts and not have to worry, and the older users, like you, me, and MileFile, don't have to be inconvenienced by the search page?

It's just one more click. Experienced users have been known to make duplicate threads as well.

I think you should add links on there. Have a link for wishlists, car lists, track lists, all the stickied stuff. The n00bs can't get it trough their thick skulls to look at the stickies.

Jordan, instead of this; pressing New Topic, then getting lead to the Search before posting a thread page, wouldn't it be better if you link the New Topic button to Sage's Look Here Before You Ask! thread? Maybe somewhere on the page it could say; Still haven't found your answer or question. Then they could make a new thread.

I'm sorry Triple Play, but you haven't been here 90 days yet. so how can you really limit other people's access? no offence or anything, its just a question.

Yeah, I forgot about editing the page, I'll add a link to his thread on there.
