If the game code could determine reckless from new player bad driving, but then the code would be better for determining penalties for cause/victim.
If it could even be determined?

IRL Ricardo could be determined as a reckless driver for his late braking passes, as his talent is often reliant on the other driver taking evasive action. Ricardo is one of the nicest guys on earth, so I could say the other guys would be reckless to not be aware of his abilities and what he is likely to go for, so they need to be taking evasive action.

As you say.. the problem is the determination of reckless driving... if the system could determine who was at fault now, then there would be less of an issue anyway.

Maybe continual multiple contact with other cars during the race

It does. If you have a minute of penalties, the game disqualifies you (after giving you 15 seconds to work the penalty down to under a minute).

Didn't know that. It's good

At Interlagos on Saturday I was hit by at least 3 cars in T1, T2, T3, T6, T7... starting in 8th I was 16th by the end of the first lap. In trying to avoid collisions with those in front, I ended up having more collisions coming from those at the rear. So I would be DQ'd?

I had the same problem in Raptor races but something needs to deter purposefully hitting other cars. I reckon it would improve things eventually when people realise you'll get booted out for doing it

My point was that in 5 corners, 3 cars per corner is 15 in total. Which could be (it wasn't but it could) 1 hit from each individual... then the bumpee as opposed to the bumpers would get DQd

You have to be really bad to get up to minute of penalties though... I've seen last place intentionally wreck the field without being booted

Yes, that's way too high and it shouldn't even give you a chance to work it off, should be an immediate kick.

If I worked at PD, I would create a honey trap daily race called 'destruction derby' everyone that enters it would go on a blacklist and forever be matched among themselves.

I get this all the time on Brands Hatch, if I don't get pushed off. I'm a conscientious driver ...maybe I should watch the replays in multiple views to see if I'm blocking faster drivers coming from behind for example? That is an area that needs looking at ( blocking) its just bad racing - not driving the line or being competitive. An issue I see too often. I've had 2 wins out of 48 races. Most times I'm placed 3-10. I'm starting to thing its odds not skill sometimes :banghead:

I can do it in two corners.

Anyone can if they do it by cutting corners and ramming barriers and you know that.:p

If you were to instead punt cars (I know you won't and I'm not suggesting anyone actually should), you could ruin at least five peoples races before you even triggered that warning. You could even run the penalty down and ruin some more races.

Yeah same on Brands! I think Brands and Suzuka, due to the massive amounts of sand, I always take slightly too cautiously.

gt3 10 lap daily race on suzuka, first lap.... started 7th, One spun off first corner, in the esses 2 guys where banging there wheels off in front of me, opening a gap in the lefthander, so braked on time, got the inside line (the other guys where very slow at that point) Yes ! managed, altered the race line a bit wider to leave room and..... got hit on the right rear panel, spun, got smacked by the second driver into the sand trap and got rewarded with lowered sb (uhu) and 10 seconds penalty.. (and offcourse due to the sand thingy, dead last) who should get a dq? me, or the havoc driver?

so, get a dq, depends on the situation and given warnings, I really hope that pd can come up with something in the game to determine if / or someone is going to hit/ram/slide in to you that the player action could be determined as faulty, or trying to save the situation.

basicly, yes, a dq should be in the game, same as all the flag rules.

iRacing will disqualify you for accumulating too many points during a race and they don't try to determine reckless from bad. The principle is simple. If you accumulate X number of points in this race, your driving is so bad that you shouldn't be here. Intentional or accidental it doesn't matter. Take a break, calm down, try again. They also use a video review process and you can get suspended like Scott Speed, 3-time RedBull Global Rallycross Champion just was. They take their driving pretty seriously over there.

EDIT: Found one of the incidents. Watch the driver's mirror around 10s and then again at 17s.

I like that or perhaps other drivers don't think they need to brake when a car can be used as a foil lol

You can get DQ'd in two corners? I would love to see that.

Even if you could, it doesn't stop someone from ramming others and taking small cuts. You could still ram multiple cars off the track and ruin their race(s) before you build up enough time to be kicked

And you can work the penalty off. So if I am a troll and I am going around and wrecking people, I'll just slow down to rid the penalty so I can keep wrecking others.
