How about 2 tests?
One an oval and one a road course.
I believe Indianapolis Speedway is to be in GT5. I don't know if it will be 2 configurations or not.
If the Indy road course is not in the game then use Infineon's stock car course.
Either way.
Do your qualifier which is 2 laps to get your AI setting. The better you qualify the stronger the AI, versus a better starting position.
This is to match the AI to your driving ability.
This lap is to have a minimum time, kinda like NASCAR's minimum race speed, not fast enough and go park it in the garage.
With the AI, do 10 lap races (starting last (or even 8th like now)) with a reguired pit stop, pit road speed and all. You get caught speeding and you get a pass through penalty.
The AI would have to be matched to give you a race that you can win but not by any number of laps, just win.
It's a 16 car field so that shouldn't be too hard.
The tires would be a compound that would go the 10 laps and be worn at the end of the race.
If you push the car too hard the tires will wear out. Simple.
Indy is a difficult track and if the road course is included, all the better.
It would be great (realistic too) if PD were to impliment the correct rolling 2 wide starting/restart grid, not the current rolling starts.
Seeing that this years qualifying times were around 50 seconds a lap the race would be less then 10 minutes, not too long.
I would imagine there will be some kind of a dedicated section for NASCAR racing so some liscencing would be in order.
How about a tuning test for B-spec Bob?
You set the car's settings and Bob trys to improve his lap times.
I would like to see GT5 with tire pressure settings, individual would be best.
