I can’t afford the place I’m living in, so I’m moving out. I just got this rent-subsidized studio on Seattle’s Capitol Hill. Between the much lower rent and only needing to pay for internet, I’m going to save about $4-500/month. I have a friend who already lives there and helped me to get this place. I’ve got a view of Mount Rainier out my window, and the roof is accessible for fantastic views. I watched the July 4th fireworks from the roof with my friend one year. Money is super tight since I’m paying rent here and there in both January and February (I’ll probably only be able to buy two games this year, Horizon 6 and GTA 6), but it means I’ve got two months to complete the move. I’m looking forward to this.View attachment 1503512

Congrats! That’s a beautiful city.

So these were my last 2 buys of 2025:

Silent Hill 2: Collector Edition
Very nice find, everything seems to be in pretty good shape (the game itself + the "Making of" dvd, the manual and that huge sticker, took me a while to figure out what that thing was) apart from the outer cover which, unfortunately, has a massive tear on the topside... the previous owner must've had paws like a bear to do something like that :indiff:
Had to pay 60 euros for it but anyway, I'm super happy to have this game in my collection, these PS2 Silent Hill games are getting so pricey, especially for Silent Hill 2 which is often considered by many to be one of the best survival horror games ever made, a true masterpiece.

Silent Hill 4: The Room
Another nice find, probably not as profound or iconic as SH2 but still a good game, cost me 70 euros which is probably a little too much for what it is but I don't regret buying it.

So that's how I ended 2025.
2026 starts with something totally different:

PSP Gran Turismo: Collector's Edition
I had no idea that PD actually made a Collector's Edition of this game back then...
I'm so glad I have this thing, the previous owner took very good care of it and obviously the highlight goes to the 5 exclusive pictures of a Bugatti Veyron, just gorgeous!
The price? 30 euros which I think is more than a reasonable price, considering the fact that this particular version is not as common as the "standard" Gran Turismo for PSP.

30 EUROS!!!???? And with the game too? That’s actually a good deal.

Also to kick my first post of 2026 off on here, recently bought a new racing wheel for a sim rig I’m building. A Thrustmaster T248R. 😎

New 220 litre cement mixing tub for a terrace pond (right), to use as a breeding pond once it’s established. The one on the left is an aquatic plant growing pond.

I also picked up 4 dwarf gourami for my living room tank, but it’s too murky for pics (tannins). Here’s a Google pic.

I cancelled all my streaming subscriptions to save money, but I did buy a few movies to keep me company. These are all digital releases. Wicked, Wicked For Good, Superman, and Fantastic Four: First Steps. Just waiting for K-Pop Demon Hunters to become available as a digital purchase.

Same I just cancelled HBO/Max, Hulu/Disney+/Espn....I couldn't hang up on Netflix and Prime for the time being

I also decided to put a pause on PSN

with all those on pause I am saving ~$70/month ...crazy how expensive this stuff is now

HBO/Max, Hulu/Disney+/Espn
I just signed up for HBO during their Black Friday deal - $2.99/month for 12 months.

Our D+/Hulu/ESPN is added onto my wife's phone plan for $10/month.

I signed up for the Starz BF sale for $11.99 for the year.

Kind of hard to say no to those deals.

I did kill off Peacock, though.

I ditched YouTube premium, not because it was a bad deal, but because having ad free YouTube just consumed my free time. Strangely though, YouTube on my phone still works as premium but I haven’t paid in months.

I’ve kept Netflix’s because they get more movies as time goes by and there are some good series on there.

I just picked up a one man bivvy for a bike packing trip next month.
