Sim tires for Drifting?

Hey i saw in many forums that u have to use Sim tires to drift but for some reason whenever i put them on on my FC it spins out like crazy! Need some help...
 
Simulation tires are "supposed" to make your car really slippery, because it simulates real life driving
however, theyre the best for drifting cuz they have the least traction out of all the tires given....... and since drifting is all about little traction.... catch my "drift"? haha
 
i get u but my FC still spins like crazy and i'm having a hell of a hard time getting my FC to go straight! u know how the heck i'm suppose to tune it so that it won't spin?
 
maybe DON'T use simmy tires? I mean theres something called TOO much looseness........ Simmy tires are just RECOMMENDED for drifting.. .i use superhards all the time when i fool round w/ my suby lm... lol
 
WHOA THERE......... uh.. all i can say is.. slowly move back up the grid till you're at least on super hards...
if you're drifting on supersofts.. thats like.. you can drift with F1 cars ok.... :p
 
THROTTLE MANIPULATION. Also, when using sim tyres, you don't need much over 350hp...But it's all about throttle manipulation. The buttons on the dual shock controller are pressure sensitive so you can regulation how much power you are putting down...Just takes practice.
 
Yeah... cept too much mashing causes the pressure sensative parts to cease working.. so if you think you're pressin down too hard and the accelerator "turbo boost gauge if you will" is popping up and down, i suggest you stop racing for a while...
 
I drift a little differently. I do it like in the movies. The back end is sliding and the front is on course. I have Supersofts up front and soething slippery in the back. Makes for some neat movie like replays. If you want to work on your throttle manipulation do some rallying. I first learned how to drift in my Legacy B4 Blitzen at Tahiti Maze. Just get the back and around a little and try to keep the car at the same distance away from the wall/barraier/grass as much as you can and you will eventually get it. Thats how I got it anyway. I also turn the Stability and traction controls really low or off, but thats how I do things....

You don't have to use sim tires, it's just what I like. If you're spinning out all the time, be gentler with the throttle pedal. :)
 
I can drift with f1's

the reason i can drift anything that moves, is that back in gt 1 i didn't have the common sense to think "gee, 933 horspower on a 4wd car makes it turn poorly" soo, i learned how to drift thinking that it was the ONLY way to make corner aside from wallriding

in gt2 there was the elise, the elise taught me grip racing.


drift, grip, both are the same thing IMHO, just a way to go fast.

too bad you don't know that even in drifting you could actually turn the asm on to 1 and tcs onto 1... helps with loosing TOO much traction.... lesesns the traction loss effect.. :p
 
actually, i DID know that. in gt1 though you didnt have those options.

oh yeah, you can drift with either setting up as high as you want, but you have to learn how to manage body roll and single tire traction.

by ajustable, yes i do mean the variable center differintial controller

DRIFT and GRIP are both RACING, remember that.

but it is a drift car at its heart
 
Super softs? Why so much grip? And why so much power in your skyline? Super slicks would be a more suitable option for a racing tyre and stage 4 turbo in a skyline? ...Right...To each their own.
