I fear my intentions are being taken out of context. Fair enough, I know where I am — I should know better than to be coy. :p

My comment was referring to us already having put together an article regarding the above Tweet. Nothing more.

    Thaks! Terra man! :)

So far all news about that possible release.. are not more than obscur rumours...

And about GTR3 interest loss... lets say that sometimes I still play GTR2... and I ve got almost all racing games avalable...to date...

Power & Glory Mod is... outstanding!

I still play GTR2 and there's a ton of mods for me to play especially the Power and Glory mod.

And correct if I'm wrong but isnt GTR2 the only game out there that has the BPR mod?

I am looking forward to GTR3 though. I've been waiting for years.

I don't know if we need an article just yet we have one screenshot with recycled information, unless there is some "new" news out there.
I'm not sure what to make of this title with the devs saying it will be a stepping stone to R3E, leads me to believe physics wise we're looking at another Forza/GT and that is not what GTR is.
I still fire 2 up occasionally and yes Power and Glory is probably one of the best mods ever created.

@:50 that Alpha still puts a smile on my face all these years later.

    The physics are just phenomenal.

I would love for your average Gran Turismo player to get behind it with a good wheel just so they can see why it's often referred to as legendary.

Unfortunately for us console sim racers, with no more AC updates & support for PC2 at an end & ACC only on PC, GTR3 is the only thing to look forward to in 2019 for us.

I said us "console users", you guys on PC's are fine.

Also PC3 won't be on this console generation if SMS are planning bigger, better things because even the 1X can just about support what they've thrown at it already with PC2.

    ACC is PC only.

    I understand.

You could do what I did and pick up a decent rig that will run all these sims just fine.
If I remember I gave $400 for a gtx1050ti/g4560 and it gave consistent 80-100fps on medium settings with AC, PC2, rF2, R3E etc.

It also gave me a secondary hobby of upgrading my PC, which is fun and rewarding to do yourself.

Pre 2010 sims like GTR2, Race 07 can run on very cheap equipment, I'm talking a used $150 potato off craigslist or your local paper.

I might just have to go down that route, but not yet, we'll see what happens.

I don't care about all the hate, I'm eagerly waiting for more pics & footage. :)
The sim looks impressive so far, keep it up SimBin!

Also did anyone else noticed that every new racing game shows off Spa first? Are they provoking GT fans?

I think both PCARS didn't. If I remember correctly, they showed the MSV circuits for PCARS1 and a new circuit for PCARS 2. I think it was Long Beach..

so, GTR3 is supposed to be a licensed WEC game...yet they use a pic of a Merc GT3 car, which does not race in WEC?

That was the case for the Porsche GT3 R shown this past August as well: https://www.gtplanet.net/gtr-3-back-from-the-dead-coming-to-gamescom-august-21/

The idea is, at least until confirmed otherwise, multiple disciplines are going to find their way into the game.

It could be similar to pc2 with indy car where they have the license to use liveries and series name but have multiple disciplines. Rather than ACC which only has Blancpain Gt3 Europe

Bit of a thread bump :)

    Anybody heard anything lately?

I've been looking but damn, they sure are quiet with regards to a Q2 release.

I tried to zoom in on the pile of games on the front desk but res is too low. Top game looks like Forza 7 from the picture on the front of the case. I assume they are all current racing games for them to compare their game to.

No doubt console release as well.
I saw that picture earlier today, my only question is where are the sim rigs with WHEELS to beta test on?
If this is being developed with console optimization/pad support priority I no longer have any interest.

Well that's definitely GT Sport on the top of the PlayStation games.

I have a bad feeling about GT3. Not that it is not going to be released but that it is not going to be a pure sim but more of a simcade sim.

I didn't say "this is a bad thing"

I said I would no longer be interested.

Have you ever played GTR? Experienced the power and glory mod on a wheel?

If Mr Simbin wants to change gear and chase the gran turismo or Forza crowd leaving behind the roots of GTR that is his decision.

Now I'll say that's a bad thing, and just my opinion.

You made it sound like controller support and console optimization were bad things.

I've put hundreds of hours (possibly even 1000+) into GTR2, P&G, Race07, rFactor & Assetto Corsa all using an XBOX ONE controller and found them all to be very well optimized and enjoyable with only minor adjustments to controller settings. Just because they play good on a controller, or run good on console (in the case of AC) doesn't make them bad games (or make them lose their "roots" either).

It's actually poor controller support and a lazy console port that makes me dislike PCARS2 so much, so if there isn't good controller support I won't be interested. However at this point a bad console port doesn't have much affect on me since I now have a decent gaming PC.

IMHO if they do decide to bring GTR3 to console (which it seems like they do) then good controller support on both consoles are a necessity if they want the game to be successful.

Not everyone has the budget or the space for a racing wheel, I'm sure most console gamers don't and just want a game that's fun to play on a controller.
