It's free, you earn credits in game to buy cars, or you can pay cash for cars.

Never have to buy tracks.

You start out with an Evo X, BMW 1M, and Lola Formula 3 car.

LOL it's not. It's free to play. I know you can earn game credits to buy cars but if you want SOME cars you need to drop big bucks. McLaren F1 cost 20 bucks or something AND the sound still sucks.

On the test drive it's $10, the sound is no worse than the iRacing F1 car and the physics are arguably better, so I don't understand what is so unusual here, the sounds aren't "that" bad, they just aren't that good either.

Outside of the Codemasters F1 games there aren't any games with good sounds for Formula 1 cars.

rFactor F1 mods sounds better and are free. Game StockCar F1 had physics made by Niels Huskevield wich is very good and they doesn't sound bad. The whole game cost 20 bucks or something. If I need another ISI engine game I rather buy Game StockCar than Simraceway.

So tomorrow's TDT is the Maserati 250F, $7.50 for the day. Annoyingly I'm about $0.20 short, otherwise I might've actually bought that (assuming it's good, which I'm sure it is), but if I have to add $10 to do so I most likely won't.

I've also just noticed you can add credits as well as dollars now, I haven't had a look on the site for about a month now so that's possibly old news. Kind of makes you wonder why they'd bother having the two currencies.

I hope I can actually drive it this time. I couldn't in the last couple of free specials, because the game didn't want to download the content. Was kinda pissed that I couldn't drive the Speed 8.

Yes, the download manager gives me a "?" behind every car and track and says "Initializing...". Same again today, so annoying.

Have you talked to the SRW on the website chat? I've seen them be helpful for people having same kind of issue downloading cars/tracks.

I had one incident, can't remember what car, but a 'reset' on that car in DL manager fixed it for me.

I gave it a try, found it a bit uninspiring, quite understeery and not so great under braking, the FFB seemed a bit lacking. Modelling in the cockpit was nice though and it sounded decent too. Good for the price but wasn't a "must buy" for me.

Anybody has a good wheel setup for T500rs with 900 degrees?
I find FFB in this sim pretty disturbing, especially if I have to compare it to GT5 or LFS

Ask in the SRW website chat. There's usually someone there that can help.

I have to disagree with the FFB compared to GT5. It took some tweaking to really get the settings dialed in, but GT5 (didn't play LFS) doesn't compare.

I dunno, being honest I think with the road cars GT5 feels a bit more realistic. SimRaceway has a very heavy feeling FFB, almost like all the cars are non power steering which though can be setup easily with Logitech wheels can be a bit over the top on the Thrustmaster T500, and I've seen a load of T500 people complain that the FFB is ridiculously too powerful, and the strength adjustment ingame doesn't do anything (not sure why it is even there).

On the other side the T500 is specifically made for GT5, so will be perfectly dialled in from the go.
