GTP_timeattack vs. GTP_Grim_Reaper Winner: GTP_timeattack
Going into the race I was a bit worried as my pace was lacking by about 5 tenths in early practices, and I was really unsure as to what Grim was going to bring to the table. From the few brief messages I had with him, it sounded like he didn't have much time to practice and sharpen up his 6-axis skills for this round. But I sure wasn't going to sit back and take his word for it this late in the Championship.
I had the P1 starting spot so I was able to get out in clean air right away. Unfortunately during the first few laps I couldn't find any type of rhythm, but luckily didn't make any mistakes that allowed Grim to make up much, if any time at all. By lap 2 Grim was still able to catch my tow I believe and was able to stay within distance of me until lap 3 or so. By lap 3 or 4 Grim fell out of my draft and was starting to fall back at a decent rate. I saw him make a mistake (forgot where) on lap 4 which pretty much put him out of contention to win, unless I really screwed up. From there the race was pretty elementary for me, although I did have a close encounter with a straggler in a NSX going through the chicane. Luckily he was going so slow I was able to ghost through him without issue.
Anyways, great effort Jamie 👍 Too bad you didn't get more practice with this combo and more time to sharpen up your understandably rusty 6-axis skills.

I would have really enjoyed a close fight with you, but I guess I'll have plenty of that to look forward to in the semi-finals

Can't wait to see who I'm paired with in the next round. Looks like we have two Americans and two Brits in the semis
I'd like to thank all of the guys who to took the time to Steward our race, including RPM, Zissou, Obli, and Racer_LP. 👍 Sorry if I forgot anyone else
