Out of curiousity since i am a noob... When you buy a new Skyline from Nissan dealership, and they ask you for some specifications, could they sell you parts like, for example the C-1 West Wing in the Motorex's Blackbird?

If you bought a Skyline from Nissan, the only aftermarket parts they would probably sell you would be Nismo. It would really depend on the dealership though. Some dealerships also sell parts packages for their cars. For example, my local Subaru dealership sells a WRX (standard WRX, not STI) package that has an STI wing, upgraded BOV, upgraded cat-back exhaust, and OZ wheels.

You mean Nismo parts right? So each dealership may or may not sell the extra parts.. and is your Subaru dealership the actual dealership from that company? Cuz in Hong Kong, you can buy cars from different dealerships, like someone might sell a wide range of cars from mercedes to lamborghinis... so I was just wondering.

Nissan dealers can get Nismo parts if you want. Not aftermarket stuff. The Nismo parts are expensive and need to be imported from Japan.

Most tuned cars you buy from a dealership are used cars that got traded in or tuned by their own company (nismo for nissan, TRD for toyota etc.) before arriving at the dealer. Nissan would use nismo parts becasue why would they want to advertise and use someone elses parts when they have thier own, after all if a company doest use its own parts how could they expect their customers to do it?

Hiya! :D :O

ooOoo thank goddess Nismo will have skyline parts! :O The reason for my excitement is because lately I begin to grow in luv with the Skyline GT-R VspecII R34! :O I dream and plan about getting one from Motorex later in the future, but imagine the many years that will pass by. Its like...will motorex still be in business by the time I want to buy one? Will replacement parts for the skyline will be available at any company by that time? I understand about how they store extra peices and stuff in a hardware place but wherever I look at places online such as K&N or many other sites, there are no Skyline parts listed. The only Japanese supercars they have or for RX-7 and Supra, but no skylines? :odd: Makes sense to me when it's very VERY rare for a skyline to be in the U.S. So they only make parts for cars that can make huge profit from the HUGE numbers of sales in the U.S. :O But I feel glad to know that NISMO will be having them! I almost forgot about NISMO and Nissan being a team. sad me...:odd: :O

K&N and other companies do make parts for skylines also, just not in the US. I can go buy plently of Skyline aftermarket stuff if I want and I do. (because Im not in the US)

I'm sure some company will still be around to import R34's and older models but in 2007 nissan is supposed to release a new GTR that will be available here in the US so as long as they don't screw it up (which I doubt they will especially since they've been doing such a good job recently with their new cars) you could get one of those. However here in the US it won't be a Nissan Skyline, infact even in japan it wont be a skyline, the skyline will be like the infiniti G35, it will be aluxury brand. the next car will be known just as GTR so here it will be an infiniti GTR not a nissan GTR. By then nissan should have some parts for them, I don't know if they will be NISMO pars especially on an infiniti, but they will be still made by nismo, just under a different name. I think they will be called R-spec parts but they will be the same thing.

The reason you can't find parts for the GTR that easily is because since GTRs were never really supposed to be here, they don't keep the parts in stock because it would be a waste of money. If you want parts for the GTR you'll either have to go to japanese sites or have them specially imported by a company. For example TOP SECRET just opend up a tuning shop here in the US, that would be a great place to buy parts. HKS carries parts for the GTR but not on their US website, to get those parts you would have to call HKS and have them special order it.

Oh and Dorifto, Yeah shes a girl, who has very good taste in cars. I'm finding more girls that like skylines, thank God, becasue who ever marries me has to put up with one and my obsessivness

Yeah it's pretty obvious only a girl would use 9 smilies in one post. Anyway I'd never thought girls would like the R34 Skyline but some do. Back in highschool i had a class with a foreign student from Hong Kong. I was seated next to her and one day i was bored so i pulled out my SCC magazine she looked over and said " That is nice car" I was like eh? long story short I found out her dad owned a tuning shop and she showed me a couple pictures of R33s and R34 skylines at the shop. Probably the coolest chick I have ever met.

Hey when you drive a Skyline (R32 onwards), you always get chicks that ask for your number (like last night for example).

Just imagine in a Lambo or Ferrari not only will you get more chicks but you get good looking chicks.

Actually last night I had 4 chicks in a corolla come up to me at the traffic lights and ask for my number, 3 out of the 4 were hot! The other was ok. So in a Lambo I would get 2 Car loads of super models :D.

oooOOoo I like you! :O *adds SkylineGTR_guy to her list* :O:O:O Yea wut a sign of relief with the information you gave me! It's good that you told me all of this so that I can keep on dreaming and not giving up on owning a R34 Vspec II:O :D . It even makes sense to me of how you put it to sense in my head of how there are people who own cars that are 40-60 years old and can still get parts to keep the car running. But of course, their are times when you just gotta give it up on it because the R34 might be too expensive by the next 10-100 years or so... :O and I might like something else by that time.
I was thinking about wut you said about the new GTR that will come in about 2007 and read some info on it back then. That time though I wasnt interested in that Skyline until the last two monthes. Then since you brought the info back to me about the new GTR slated to be in 2007, it brought me back to thinking about it again. I am not sure myself if I would like the new GTR that will come out because if the way the rumors and stuff are flying around about it. Also, I am not really into the Infiniti G35 "look" to the car and think its kinda ugly IN MY OPINION! no flaming plz! :O:O:O
Also, I have seen those pictures of the new GTR that people would say its a concept or some pictures where people would say "Its a fake picture made with photoshop" and my impression from these pictures I have seen of the new GTR: EEEWWWWW! To discribe the pic I have seen...It looks like a Nissan 350Z with some changes on the body that made me dont like it... :odd: I hope that when the new GTR comes out, it will have a good GOOD amount of resemblance to the Skyline Series and maybe if they dont keep it that way...I hope the look will be very attractive to me to get it! :O:O:O

Well they are redesigning the GTR it will look nothing like the concept, I'm sure Nissan won't dissapoint us, but the performace specs going around are quite nice indeed. Anyway if the body is ugly nothign a nice bodykit can't fix. Hey if we don't like it we can always go back to the R34 :D

Just out of curiosity, what are you planing to be to finance you GTR? I'm going with pharmacy, easy job with VERY good pay, and guess when I graduate from pharmacy school? Yup 2007, and guess what my graduation present to myself will be :sly:

I am still in Private high school at the moment and still havent decide if I want to be a doctor or teacher. Cant decide yet! :O But that be looooong way until I ever get to that time :odd: But I am sure later on in life I will get a car I want and have fun! :O Not street racing though...I dont support street racing! :O:O:O

Wow, Dorf... stooping to a new low... OF COURSE McLaren'sAngel is a girl! Whomever else daresay ask if McLaren is a lady, don't even consider asking. I mean, the Angel is free to express herself anyway she pleases. She's a hell of a woman and a wonderful addition to GTP.

And by the way, congratulations on your new buddy Skyline, McLaren'sAngel. Looks like I have another dummy to add to my ignore list. Or should I call it the "guess who got flipped off and OWNED" list...

what are you going on about?, why does your whole life revolve around who is on your friend or foe list?, Its alittle rude if you ask me.

woah wait WTF? he was talking to ME!?!?!?!? I thought he meant he was adding dorifto to his ignore list? :odd: Well if it is me I guess he won't see this message, I dunno what the hell I did. Oh well, whatever... What does he do block everyone in you friends list or something? that would be hillarious!

Anyway back on topic, yeah I don't think teacher make too much, well not here in Arizona anyway, I dunno about where you live. Maybee university teachers, they have some pretty pimp cars.. Anyway Dr.'s make alot of cash, that would make for a nice way to support your GTR :)

Private high school? Sounds expensive, secretly go to public school and save the money for the GTR ;)

Hiya! :D :O

My mind jump around too much on wut I wanna be but I am sure doctor or even an engineer would do. Anyways...

BACK ON TOPIC! Yea I even wonder even if we can get skyline parts to replace the old beat up or broken parts, by that time...wouldnt the Skyline become rather incomparable to the new cars of the next 20+ years? :odd: It's very interesting to me because who knows if the actual SKYLINE GT-R might come back and will be legal in the US :O:O:O except in a different look I can guess :O But we will have to wait and see how the future folds out on Nissan and those who wishes/plan to have a "Skyline GT-R" :O:O:O

The new model wont be a skyline GTR, from now on skyline will be just a luxury brand and the performance brand will be known only as "GTR" so it will be juast an infiniti GTR. As for the R32, R33, R34 series I'm sure by then more companies will be able to import them, I know of 2 right now who are already RI"s (registered importers) and are workign on getting their approval to be able to work on skylines, so I'm sure they'll be cheaper. I'm sure parts will still be around too, I mean look at all the muscle cars still around, there are still plenty of parts for them, I'm sure it will be the same for the skyline, you just may have to buy them from japan.

Just noticed I was added to your list :)

Hey why dont you both (McLaren'sAngel & SkylineGTR_guy) move to Australia, Plenty of great GTR's and Skylines. We can make our own Skyline club:D

I am going to US & Japan in 2 weeks for 7 weeks, I am hoping to get some great parts. Too bad the US doesnt have Skyline parts :(, I have high hopes for Japan though. What is the turbo scene like in the US (turbo shops etc?). Will I be able to find intercoolers, turbos etc (I am hoping for a cheap HKS turbo).

Stick with Japan, most US tuning shops don't know jack squat about GTR's much less turbos for them. If I'm moving anywhere razorGTR already has me pegged to move to NZ, hes been bugging me and taunting me for months

They dont need to know Skylines, just general turbo parts.... eg HKS GT30-37 Pro S

Hiya! :D :O

After readinth the threads between Viper and Skyline guy, it made me think about the Skylines that are imported to the US... :O Dont you both think that people may try to steal the Skylines? I mean ITS a SKYLINE!!! :O I can confidently say that most or all import tuners want a skyline and some will be willing to attempt to steal a Skyline or some of its part! Wait.. maybe I am wrong about most of them wanting a Skyline, but just for those who REALLY want one! :O
And can we really trust the tuner garages in the US to put/install/fix our future Skylines? Would they really know how to look and fix the skylines? I am saying this because I am not a mechanic and dont dtrust myself to do the tuning and rather have a professional do it, maybe like Nissan dealer themselves. :O:O:O

First of all, my life doesn't revolve around anything. My goals in life are to get the hell out of college and get rid of my depression and life live to be free from worry. After getting ranted on in another thread, I figured I'd come here.

Now, the Skyline is a very sophisticated machine. If the Skyline lost its restricted 276hp, the machine would catch up to most American V6 and V8 cars. It is a great sportscar, and yes, it's turbocharged. Whatever parts you can find to make this already sweet car better, go ahead and tune for performance as much as you want.

hi everyone havent replied here at the nissan area in a long even though I look at it daily.
Anyways as SkylineGTR_guy was saying about the parts been here for a long time I agree.

Viper: If your looking for good prices you still can't beat japan, most of the parts here are imported anyway so there would just be a markup on the price from what they would cost in japan. Whenever I buy anything for my car I generalyl get it online because thats where I find the lowest prices.

Mclaren's angel: Yeah alot of people want the skyline, but since it's so rare its also more easily traceable. You have to deal with vandals every so often, people like to steal the GTR badges. I know the R34 comes with a factory immobilizer to help prevent theft. If I had a GTR I would invest in a satelite tracking system, its like lojack but you can access it online ans dee where your car is 24 hours a day. You can also specify a certai distance around your house or "curfew" times and if you car is opperating outside that area or curfew you will recieve a call making sure that you are the one drivng your car not someone else.

As for tuners, I would trust the ones that have worked on skylines before, I mean they really are no different than may other cars on teh market but I'd still wan't my mechanic to know what hes doing. I prefer to do everything myself but for people who are not mechanically proficient I would suggest going to big tuners like HKS or Top Secret who have contacts in japan and have a history of working on GTR's. I'm sure when the infiniti GTR comes out there will be some factory sport options that you can have installed. Plus it's a GTR, I gaurantee you that there will be TONS of companies making parts for them in no time at all.

I do do everything myself (exept the work on a dyno). I was just asking about US tuners to get cheap parts (eg Turbo, I know the stuff I want), because everything in AUS is mostly more expensive than in the US (exept skylines :D) and I dont have lots of time in Japan to find these tuners and parts :(.
