I noticed from inside the car that the RPM needle reaches half the speedo when its at 7k rpm , is this how the real SL55 is like?

I've never been in an 55 AMG, but I strongly believe that this is only in the game, and therefore a bug.

Here is the an image of the real cluster. 7000Rpm is the limit not half way.

They should fix it by GT5, in GT5prologue demo the GTR had a small bug on the dash screen that was fixed by GT5p.

The biggest bug in the game is the skyline 370GT, it only has 5 gears while the real one has 6.

I am yet to drive the 370GT but when I was racing against it once it shifted like a automatic, the 370GT is available in 5 speed auto, which maybe the version in GT5P.

The 370GT in prologue is a type SP, the type SP is only availible as a manual. And when it shifts the hand af the driver moves.

Jesus I never knew the SL's dial were so confusing, seriously to me I would forget which one is telling me speed and which is rev's... I hate it when cars put rev's in double digits as apposed to single ones.

I just got the car and I was right, It is an auto.

Just there is no paddles, so to switch gears in 'manual/sport mode' he uses the stick. It clearly shifts like an auto and the clutch (on the G25) does not function like all the auto/paddleshiftering cars in the game.

Also type SP means the car is a full luxury equiped model, doesnt mean it can't have an auto.

*EDIT* after checking Nissan JAPAN it seems the type SP V36 coupe might be only offered in 5AT (being the luxo sport version).

Maybe PD got confused between the revs and speedo too, 'cause 70mph would be about half way around the dial :D

i just bought the car and just tried my time attack in Arcade mode @ Eiger. the tachometer is indeed 'malfunctioning' :)

muahhaha... just like in real life.. my benz has over 120K miles on it,, eninge light came out and it still runs like new ;)

the worst car for electrics problems are either the older Jaguars XJ40s ( i had one MY GOD) or the new BMWs HAHA even on TOP gear when they tested out the M5. the display lighted up like a xmass tree

Did you mean Jeremy Clarkson's "Oh, I never seen computer or a cellphone, so I cannot orientate in this at all!" whinning or Tiff Needel's "What a great thing, this computer is! I can play with it all the day." raving on M5? :) It's just not in electrics, but in reviewer's mind. I find i-Drive system very good and after one afternoon it's your friend on the board. Never had electrics issue even on very old bmw other than few pixels gone on display.

And the clutch doesn't work for the skyline 370GT coupe.
It works for the cocept car. That's the one that goes to 5 gears I beleive, not the skyline 370GT.

yeh it all depends on person.. but the engine light DID turn on during the test few times...

buy anyways... I drive system is good i think but i just dont like that u choose how much power u need and etc.. alll i want is step on the gas paddle and GO!!!!!! at least they should make one button that says SPORT...

The problem is that the 370GT in GT5p is an automatic, but drivers hand moves's when he shifts.

Maybe the driver doesn't like the paddles and likes to push the shifter bar manually. :p

(like you would on a older conventional sports mode auto)
