better save up money, ill take this over the older bigger ps2 anyday, it comes with a built in ethernet port!

The only bad thing about this new ps2 is that it doesn't support the HDD. But if you dont use it, that doesn't matter to you.

Yeah it's real. I'm buying one to replace the one I just sold as soon as we get them at work. Unfortunately I had to sell my PS2 and all my games to pay for a huge speeding ticket, but this is coming out just at the right time. Plus when it does come in, I get everything at cost.

Had you looked down this forum about another ten posts, you would have seen another thread on it. And ten posts before that... and ten posts before that.... In other words, OLD NEWS... look around before asking questions.

step in line repeat posts happen everyday, but of course u knew that, u've been here since...
a month!

where the hell can you buy it? best buy, circuit city, etc dont carry it yet. Is it available in stores or just online vendors?!

It's supposed to be out early November. I work at Circuit and haven't heard any new to when we'll be getting it. I doubt anyone else I work with knows about it.

Try GameStop. We've had them for about a week. They only shipped us eight of them, and they sold in less than 48 hours. This thing is on fire!

No, it will be the same price. It is not "less PS2" for your money. If you open up your PS2, you would notice that there is a lot of empty space. Sony has only streamlined the PS2 and used smaller, more efficient components than the 5 year old original PS2. Also, there is no space for an IDE hard drive, that also cuts down on the size of the PStwo.

If you want an original PS2, get them now, the PStwo will replace the original PS2.

Has anyone tried to play "back up" import games on this yet? I want to know if the swap disk would work. I really dont think it would because if you lift the top it will register as an "eject"
To answer the question demon of speed asked.... I think the price of these is
$149 slim new version
$129 regular version

I was actually thinking it would be easier to use a swap disc. If its a flip top like the original playstion, then theirs probably just a little lever that hits a button to tell wheather the lid is opened or closed. But I'm sure sony fixed that problems by hiding it in the console or just using a whole different method.

My friend wants to get a slim PS2 but only if he can play "backed up games" or imported games. For now I just told him to get the old style just to be safe. :scared:

Has anyone tried playing backed up or imported PS2 games on the new Slim PS2 yet? Someone had to try by now.
