Right, so im doing the tt 35, im getting cross the line way too slow, so my question is when im turning a corner? Is it best to brake and turn through it or drift round it! Ill have to try later, its only just popped in my head.

Brake, turn, throttle. Don't brake and turn together, you'll lose grip and slow down. Speaking of slowing down, don't drift.

I usually, hit the brakes, turn into the corner, hit the apex (pretty much half way through most corners), then hit the throttle.

Braking is effective in a straight line when the car is balanced, as with throttle.

I do that but, it just turns off to far or back end slides out baring in mind no throttle on corners, i dont know how it happens?

Its gotta be the tires then, with AWD you shouldn't be having that problem. Try using sports tires at the least. You could also check your tuning. Look for the torque sensing differential and set the numbers to 50/50, its under the drivetrain section. This will give the car equal wheel spin on all tires, and the back end won't come out. I'm pretty sure its your tires though, check that first. Sports Hard or Medium.

The TT limits the tires to comfort soft or less.

Drifting is not fast. Carry your momentum, and don't abuse the tires. A light squeak is all you need.

What TT are you doing? If its Laguna Seca, I have a tune on my Evo lll RS that a monkey could drive and get a good time with. I can gave you the setup if you like. I am solidly in the top 250 with it. I have found with these Evo's that a small amount of 4 wheel drift around certain corners is not a bad thing. All good and correct advice here but these cars seem to be the xception to the rule. Let me know if you want the setup.

Try to brake before you turn. Braking and turning at the same time is often frowned upon because of the sudden loss of traction often leading to severe understeering. It can also lead into oversteering depending on certain variables. Try to lift off the brakes slightly as you approach the turn in point.

If you do find yourself braking into the corner while turning into it, then that usually means you braked to soon, or a setting on your vehicle may be off.

Don't drift through the corners as it is slower than a grip run. Not only is it slower during the corner, but you'll have a bad exit speed, and that'll kill your straight line speed, thus your overall lap times.

Make sure that you set yourself up wide enough and hit those apexes. Remember to always maximize your turning radius.

Also, try to find a balance of downforce. Too much downforce can hurt you on high speed tracks. It won't hurt you much on lower, more technical courses.

Always remember that tires can reach only a maximum of 100 percent of it's peak grip. Attempting to exceed that limit will result in the loss of traction.

Good luck!

It's almost impossible to corner in GT without almost completely slowing down since the game doesn't seem to allow the gas to work while cornering. I used to have a car with a messed up computer that would cut the gas while cornering. I think polyphony based their driving model on that car.

I approve of this post. Although I have been playing a little too much Gran Turismo 4 recently, and in that game it's faster to go around a corner when you brake and turn together to a certain extent. And don't drift if possible because you lose too much speed. But if you're going to slide the car in corners then you might as well powerslide the car very slightly instead to the point where it's almost unnoticeable. I do notice that when I powerslide cars, I tend to go around corners faster when done correctly because I point the car's front bumper towards the inner apex and the outer apex at the end of the turn quicker, which means less steering is used.
