Just tried altering my brake bias in-game and the whole in-race tuning menu is blank? Anyone else getting this?

Not a glitch, means level playing field for everybody. (No advantage for users who prefer rear biased brakes for example)

Not as my PS3 but just gonna put this out there...PD went to the trouble of creating an event where 6 randoms were pitted against DC, I'm pretty sure their set up was the same/as close as possible to DC's.

It stands to reason that they would make everyone else use the same set up so that you can pit your wits against DC too...

Not sure why people are always so quick to shout 'Glitch'...it's not a glitch it's a predefined setup..

Having said all of that, if it is a glitch then fair play!

I watched the Live Stream and DC said something that intrigued me...

"Great effort by Sony to sync the times up" (after being told his time was .5 seconds faster) or something on those lines.

Makes me wonder if DC actually did a real 1:16.3X or they factored in the differences / nuances between real and virtual.

I think he said that because they changed the tires for the gamers after the practice session. I read the best lap was about 7 seconds faster than DC during practice.

Ahh yes, makes sense.

Hmmm... I'll try rebooting the system. Internet's working, and I closed out of the game. I'll be patient for now. :)

I'm seeing European, Japanese, South African, American and Australian flags on the leader boards.

Ok that's why I said don't quote me haha.

You will see this because..
Some people in Europe have accounts registered to the America's and visa versa. This will not disable them from playing the Seasonal because the version of GT5 they have is the EU version and along with the updates etc it will just single it out to your region. My friend has an American account and we're from Scotland, he can access the seasonal event.

With the ABS off a 5:5 brake bias (equal brake strength to both axles) is wrong.
They could have locked the ABS to 1 since it's not possible to drive competively without it with the stock, unmodifiable bias setting.

Here's the zinger: and I quote David Coulthard will race against gamers "worldwide", "Around the world" "All over the world". Then, nothing. This was a bait and switch. They didn't open the event worldwide, it was selective. They got everyones hopes up, then crushed them. Thanks PD, you've done it again. :'(

I still don't understand the "selective" regions or country that get special stuff. Weren't all equal CUSTOMERS who play this game? Why few ones get extra stuff that others don't. I understand for draws and stuff we can win because depending of the country, there's laws that rule the "play and gamble" thing but for a seasonal event, what's the deal?

Bro, I'm on your side, I could go on and on, these arguments never cease, but the decision makers at that company baffle me. This one just seemed like a tactic to gain viewers, by creating hype that everyone could play along. Maybe that was mistaken, but I read the articles, watched the previews, and heard the announcers statements. Was there something we all missed?

Come to think about it, the previous NASCAR seasonal event has been much hyped too.
Are they trying to divert attention from something else? (FM4, for example)

Bit like a World Series really.

The Seasonal is open to anyone in the world who has a "PAL" game disk - which of course will play on a console of any ilk - regardless of their geographical location or PSN account nation.

Of course the term "PAL" isn't really accurate when you're playing on an HD device connected to an HD screen using an HDMI cable, so they colloquially refer to that version as the "Worldwide" version (with NTSC-UC becoming "North America" and NTSC-J becoming "Japan") since most of the world's territories use (or used) that video standard...

So in a word the people outside the EU area are: screwed. :indiff: Oh well, I've been able to take part in everything up to this, and not everyone has. It isn't a big deal. I just hope there isn't some huge CR payout or special car/ticket awarded. :grumpy:

So you can't adjust brake bias?
I'm asking because my whole RA menu is blanked.

Err... no?

The PAL standard is, or was, used by most of the world and the "PAL" version of GT5 is available in all those territories (plus the SECAM ones). The NTSC-J version serves only Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea, the NTSC-UC version serves only the USA, Canada, Mexico and parts of Central and South America (notable exceptions being Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay).

So it's only people in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, the USA, Canada, Mexico and parts of Central and South America who don't have direct access. But then all they need to do is get a "PAL" copy of GT5 from eBay, stick it into their PS3 and then they have access too.

The person at the top of the leaderboards right now is Australian, and you can't get much further "outside the EU area" and remain on this planet.

Well, looking to Top Gear Power Ranking, the Mercedes SLS clocked 1:21, the 1:26.3 would be 3rd fastest 0,1s slower than McLaren MP4-12C.

I stand corrected, I'll be more pointed: North America has been screwed. But again, oh well. Thank you for the information.

eBay will unscrew you.
