I guess you were right...

The hosts are horrible. It reminds me of that show where those morons travel across the country in that "green" bus.

Did the girl like omg give her self the "scientist" title?

Mythbusters could finish those challenges so much better than they can.

I saw an ad and thought it looked like all the explosive parts of Mythbusters - Adam and Jamie.

Was I correct?

Yeah it wasn't very interesting. They just blow stuff up or do elaborate experiments.

Its like Mythbusters with condescending hosts, incredibly flawed experiments, total lack of a point and total lack of science. They even do the same experiments Mythbusters has already done, but the difference is they do them really poorly. Its like a Micheal Bay version of Mythbusters.

I saw another episode last night where they were going to come up with a solution for moving a car out of the way of a train vi an outside mounted airbag.

These guys = Fail

Smash Lab = Fail

DVR = Delete Smash Lab

Today, on Smash Lab, I learned that half of a 90 degree angle is 30 degrees. I also learned that aluminum is affected by magnetic fields.
I'm starting to think this show is designed purely for the people that lose in Fox game shows, because they are just making crap up now.

The Wikipedia article is similarly educational, as well:

They use an air cannon to fire debris at the mobile home - which is lightly damaged by the debris. This episode demonstrated the fine use of googling high-strength to weight ratios while failing miserably in an attempt to educate viewers.

The show could possible be pretty good if they A) got all new hosts, B) tried harder and didn't do things Mythbusters have already done and C) give it a new time slot and stop showing it right after the best show on Discovery.

Smash Lab will be awesome! How can you not like a show where they smash stuff or blow it up?!? :dopey:

Like the Mythbusters do?

A)That one is true
B)Also true
C)Doesn't it come on after Mythbusters?

If you do the math, A) your already doing better than the Smash Lab hosts. B) You will learn those guys are just Mythbuster wanabees.

They should probably just say the hell with it and make Mythbusters 2 hours long. That would be awesome.

 Although, only reason I did watch was because of the chick

BTW, has anyone seen the crap on the new "green" channel? wow...

I always thought SmashLab was Discovery's rebound show after Mythbusters finishes out the rest of its life on television. I for whatever reason thought I head a rumor that Adam and Jamie were finished with the show...

But yes, quite frankly the bar is already set really high for this kind of program and they're not on par. They've got a lot of reworking and revamping to do, if they didn't already blow their chance at making another Mythbusters quality show.

But I've got to be honest, I get all the explosions I could ever care to watch out of Mythbusters. It's actually quite nice like that, because Adam and Jamie didn't whore out explosions which made each one seem rather unique and interesting.

What!? Mythbusters is over period!? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!1!

Rebound? Funny... locally, it's National Geographic that carries it, in a similar timeslot to the local Discovery's Mythbuster airing.

It's just not in the same league. Half of the fun of Mythbusters is watching two to five very intelligent people (the jury's still out on Tory... ) figuring out a rigorous and repeatable testing regimen that will give good results.

Smash Labs is more of a drunken fratboy version of Mythbusters, with a less rigorous preparation methodology and some truly stupid ideas.

Had you asked me if it was possible to make a boring TV show that featured a decent-looking woman blowing stuff up, I'd have said NO, but somehow, these idiots manage it. I watched about 2 episodes and said "never again".

I watched that episode where they tried to stop a bus using that airport cement stuff that crumbled when the plane rode over it. And well, they kinda just laid it out on the dirt, and thought it would work. Sure they tested three different consistencies of the stuff to see which was the best. Yet for some reason... They chose the worse suited one. That being the hardest. Needless to say, the bus drove over it at 70 mph and didn't stop at all till it got to the other side.. I think it hit something too.

I believe they tried to make road barriers out of it as well. That didn't work either...

It is amusing to watch them fail though.

Good lord... somebody shut this show down pronto! Has anyone seen the commercials for the upcoming episodes!? wow... seriously.
