Seems that I’m the problem for tonight’s connection issues.
I won’t be rejoining tonight. Have fun.

I was so looking forward to racing again tonight but I’m going to need to get in touch with my ISP.

Any suggestions as to how much faster/better connection will allow me to race in SNAIL without ruining everyone’s night?

Your speed and NAT type are fine. But the SSID value implies you are using wireless network. Have you looked into going with a wired connection?

When i changed my Primary and Secondary DNS numbers in the PS4 system when setting up internet connection, i got a boost from it and i use wireless connection. I changed my primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 and Secondary DNS to 8.8.4.4 and my Download connection speed is 48.4 MBPS and Upload connection speed is 1.7 MBPS. I noticed when i was using the original DNS numbers that came with the system that the upload and download numbers were much lower. I got this tip looking up on youtube and it worked for me just changing around the DNS numbers when setting up internet connection on the PS4 system. Just did another internet connection test and it jumped to 60.3 Download and 1.8 Upload.

Great tip. Never knew about this. I’m going to test mine later today and possibly make the switch

I did back in the day when I was wireless as well. It also works better if you reset the system a couple times a week. Great tip @racingchamp30

That’s using the 100’ CAT5e I just installed.

I’d like to test it with last night’s D3 racers. Especially anyone who I interfered with and whom ever couldn’t see me on track.

When I joined last night I saw 13 in the lobby. On track I saw someone leave the room and never saw them come back in. I restarted, got on track and had 13 racers. When RC30 started the race my count down was wonky, nonexistent really. My screen showed me and the racers in P11 and P12 stuck on the starting grid. I could rev my engine, change gears and look around but my car wouldn’t move. I quit the race so I wouldn’t be an obstacle and I presumed the other 2 guys did as well but while I watched texasmost hated’s stream I saw it was just me. I watched RC’s R1R1 replay and confirmed it was only me stuck on the grid.
What did everyone else experience?

I also read about some other glitching in the chat between races and that was after I left the lobby.

I should be on a little after 9pm EST. I’ll join you if you’re on

As long as you have a consistent up at that speed you should be clear from glitching. Awesome down speed though! Nice job running your line.
Thanks. Ran it high and tight. More back work in the crawl spaces than walls so it was faster than expected. MOAR racing time!

I had exact same issue in another lobby a few weeks ago. I was stuck on track behind someone else. Could rev, shift and look but no movement. It appeared that the people that came up behind me on laps would get slowed but eventually clip through me. This happened in 3 lobby races in a row for me so I moved on. :banghead: Never had the issue again though.

AWESOME speeds! I'm cheap so my max down is 30. Works fine for me in Sport and Lobby races...I think.

If/when you are stuck on the grid it is caused by you and at least one other driver on track not seeing each other. The results you experienced are for grid start races. In the case the start is a Rolling start, you will have no control over the car when the race begins and you will race as a passenger in auto drive.

Who couldn’t see me?

The first race I never saw you, after the room reformed I didn't see you until I left and rejoined. Shortly after that you disconnected.

Sorry I havent been in for a while.
I have been busy with summer. And this weekend is the Pirelli World Challenge here in Portland so I will be at the race all weekend.
I will try and get back soon.

Early notification that I will NOT be racing next Sunday, 7/22. Therefore, we will need a data specialist and backup replay uploader. SNAIL on!

Just clarification for this upcoming Sunday, as other divisions are having a similar issue with some connections. This takes the lengthy discussion out of what to do, so that you all don't have to spend 20 minutes trying to come to a solution.

However, I hope that all the issues are resolved and everyone can race!
If you read just a little further from where you found that, it is spelled out as to when and which driver should leave if the problems can't be fixed in the event of "invisible drivers"

Special Instructions for invisible drivers or glitch race starts.

1. In the event that all drivers are not able to see all other drivers on track the host should ask that all affected drivers leave the room and reenter. If this does not fix the issue any driver that can not be seen by everyone else in the room should be asked to leave the room for the night. Example: Driver A can not see Driver B. The rest of the room can see Driver B but not Driver A. Both drivers should leave the room and reenter. Upon reentering, the problem is the same. Driver A should leave for the night as the rest of the room can't see them. Driver B can stay because the only person that couldn't see them was Driver A. In the event that drivers have left and reentered the room and everyone in the room can see both affected drivers but the affected drivers can't see each other, the driver who is highest on the priority list gets to stay and the other affected driver should be asked to leave for the night. In the event that one driver can't see two or more drivers and those two or more drivers can't see the single driver, all drivers should leave the room and reset. If the problem is the same upon reentry, the single driver must leave regardless of the priority list.

Note: Originally I posted this in April's D3 feed, as it was posted in recently and I am lazy and just clicked the highest listed D3 thread... :dunce:
