Was thinking of skipping the last race but glad I didn't. Tonight was very difficult. I'm definitely not as good on the controller as I was 8 years ago.

Great to race with you guys tonight. Sorry again for getting in the way.

Are you getting the message as soon as you start trying to share or is it after some time?
 
Was a fun night of racing for me, I hope everyone else had a good time. Finally built my stand and for the first time I was able to race off a stable platform.
@Oshawa-Joe glad you stuck around as well, for me when using the controller using the sticks was the most efficient way for me to manage throttle control and steering. My biggest issue was managing small tweaks when steering, it took me a while to find the right controller sensitivity that worked for me.
@Miami_F1 glad you were able to join us, hope you had a good time. Last night's combos were pretty slippery, and not everyone likes the same things.

We still need someone who would do data for this week, scores are entered. I look forward to seeing you all this week practicing or in next Sunday's race night.

My vote was for combo 1.

I'm using the sticks for both but it's going to take me a while to get back to my prior level from 8 years back. Been using a wheel for 8 years. I think I need to build a new rig this summer or pick up the grandstand. That thing would work perfectly for me.

Probably save myself 200 bucks this time and get the G29 instead of the T300 and t3pa Pro.
 
Yea I missed the Chevy Nova races... Was absolutely exhausted. But it was fun racing with you guys, Prouddad we were battling in the back of the pack a couple times.
 
Typically the night runs from 930 to 1130ish. 2 races at each combo, I spent several Sundays myself racing at the back. Will probably spend many more, but when everything is just right and you're fighting every lap near the front or in the middle of the pack for even just one position makes Sunday nights the best.

Yeah it was a fun night had some battle with a few guys. You didn't miss much with the novas. Those were brutal cars for that track.

Yea that nova was very though to drive without TCS.... TCS isn't allowed right?
 
In the lowest division, TCS and driving line are allowed. Currently division 4 is the lowest division. In saying that though using it and ending up so fast you move divisions could be disastrous, since it won't be allowed in any other divisions.
 
I hate the driving line never use it but my TCS is usually set on 2 until I am more comfortable running in traffic.

Ah ok, I started at 3, then 2, now I'm at 1. I'm getting a much better feel for the limits of each car, but I'm having to train my foot to be more gentle out of the turns

I don't use driving line, but if I am on a track where I am out of practice or unfamiliar with the layout I do use cones.

I also use cones as well on unfamiliar tracks but for some reason I never see them or I see them scattered across the track.

If I could be in front of you that would be better. Just because I use cones doesn't mean I can see them lol
 
I use the blue markers. I like them better than the cones which get knocked over
 
I've been trying to put in some hours (400 miles circuit experience) on the controller early this week and I'am feeling a bit more in control. The main area I'm still lacking is throttle application from apex to corner exit. Just can't seem to be smooth enough yet and tend to hesitate for a bit. Losing time but safer. Planning on running again Sunday night but do a better job to stay out of the way and race clean.
 
Staying clean is important, but when I found myself trying to stay out of the way I just caused more problems for myself. I would suggest race your line and leave it up to us to make clean passes, as it should be.
 
Yeah I agree. I'm talking more about staying getting off the racing line when needed and not being as aggressive following into corners. The opposite of what I learned in D2.

And to be clear those are not bad traits when there is skill and control, both of which I'm lacking at the moment.

I got smoother when i turned the controller sensitivity down from 7 to 5. Also trying to late apex for a straighter exit helps keep the rear end in check when possible.
 
Oh crap, just changed from 5 to 7. Been working on the later apex as it does help me with the controller.

A big learning curve has been learning to use the right stick for throttle and brake. I did well in GT5 with the controller using the buttons for throttle and brake but the DS3 was analog. Ds4 is digital now instead of pressure sensitive; either all on or off now.
