With the final race of Season 1 coming up on Tuesday, I wanted to update everyone on the points totals we have so far.

The most points you can achieve in a season is 96 points.

@keepitsteady (speedcenter) is currently leading with 92 points, with a potential max of 93.
@Neutty is in second with 78 points.
@SAMHAIN85 is in third with 77 points, with a potential max of 93.

This means that if SAMHAIN85 can win the final race of this season, he will win by 1 point, but if he finishes 2nd and speedcenter doesn't finish 1st it will go to a tiebreaker.

@TEX36 and myself are 2 points apart with TEX having 66 and myself 64, however @spidermonkey is not far behind with 56.

The interesting race is between @FREEREVN @DublDee and @thracerviewr FREEREVN has 45 points, DUBLDEE has 39 and Reviewer has 38, whomever comes out in front between these 3 is also the person who will be choosing the combo for week 1 season 2.

@Mully465 and @stelephant are 2 points apart as well. (Mully 29 and Stelephant 27)

I had a feeling it would come down to the wire. I asked about this awhile back, what are we using for the tie-breaker?

Something to think about as we've hit the half way point of the season: how will tie-breakers be decided for final standings?

How about this:

1) Best individual race finish
a) If two drivers have the same best finish, the driver with more finishes in this position wins
b) If two drivers have the same number of finishes in this position, start over with these races omitted
2) Best head-to-head result
a) Look at the first race where all tied drivers participated, and the driver with the best finishing position wins
b) If all tied drivers never raced together at the same time, use the results from the first race (drivers that didn't race in this race would lose the tiebreaker). Note that this almost certainly will never happen, but example #5 below outlines how it technically could...

Some examples to make things clearer:

Example #1
[Driver]: [R1 finish], [R2 finish], ... [R8 finish]
Bob: 1, 1, X, X, 4, 6, 2, 1
Amy: 3, 2, 5, 2, 3, 2, 3, X

Bob wins because he has a better individual race finish (he finished 1st multiple times and Amy never did)

Example #2
Bob: 1, 1, X, X, 4, 6, 2, 1
Amy: 3, 4, 5, 2, 1, 2, 3, X

Bob wins because he has more first place finishes (see 1.a above)

Example #3
Bob: 1, 1, X, X, 4, 6, 2, 1
Amy: 4, 5, 3, 5, 1, 1, 1, X

Bob wins because they have the same number of first place finishes, but he has a second place finish (see 1.b above)
Example #4
Bob: 1, 1, X, X, 1, 2, 2, 2
Amy: 2, 2, X, X, 2, 1, 1, 1

Bob wins because he had a better finish in the first race in which they both participated (see 2.a above)

Example #5
Bob: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, X, X
Amy: X, X, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Joe: 2, 3, X, X, 4, 5, 6, 1
Pam: 3, 4, 5, 6, X, X, 1, 2

These four drivers never raced all together in the same race, but Bob wins because he had the best finish in the first race (Joe finishes second, Pam finishes third, and poor Amy finishes fourth - see 2.b above)
If nobody sees any issues with this, I can include it in the OP (in a spoiler tag to save space).

I'm fine with either option and will ultimately let @BradESPN choose.
Option 2 is my preferred though as I think head to head victories should count for something.

It’s not either-or, it’s both. #2 was added just in case #1 didn’t result in a broken tie.

Sorry, should have made that more clear in the other post.

If there is room available I would like to race tomorrow.
Yep, you’re good to go. You were actually still listed as an Official driver, but I’ve moved you to Interested (since you missed more than 2 races this season).

@BradESPN where do I sign up for waiting list or for an open spot (if available) in tonights endurance race?

I finally have time tonight to enjoy a 90 min race

You’re in, and just in time - you grabbed the last open spot.

More spots will be coming next week, as we’ll be splitting into two divisions. More on this later tonight (Fijian time).

@Sean Renon, the driver’s list has been updated in the OP for tonight’s race.

We've had major incidents on lap 1 in the last 2 races. Both in high speed sections on each track where it impacted many people like dominos. The heavy damage is not very forgiving. Accidents happen but let's be careful on the first lap of a 90 min race. Good luck to everyone - its been a fun season :cheers:

It was a great season. I agree with @TEX36

Congrats to @SAMHAIN85!

@Drew71 if you're interested in racing with us next week, this is the thread to read.

We start season 2 next week, we race every Tuesday at 9pm EST, if you can commit to 6 of 8 races in a season you can signup full time and be guaranteed a spot every week.
If you can't commit, you can still sign up on a weekly basis but your spot is not guaranteed.

Season 1 results
@SAMHAIN85 wins with 93 points
@keepitsteady 2nd with 92 points
@Neutty 3rd with 78 points
@spidermonkey 4th with 71 points
@TEX36 5th with 68 points
@Sean Renon 6th with 67 points
@Hanable 7th with 55 points
@MSgtGunny 8th with 47 points
@thracerviewr 9th with 47 points
@FREEREVN 10th with 45 points
@Mully465 11th with 41 points
@DublDee 12th with 39 points
@stelephant 13th with 32 points
@MikeGrove 14th with 27 points
@BradESPN 15th with 27 points
@vsfit 16th with 20 points
@GTPvw_slc 17th with 14 points

@TomMang_68 19th with 13 points
@Grandpa Money 20th with 11 points
@THRASH 21st with 11 points

@src_ej6 23rd with 9 points
@ChauncyMarsh 24th with 7 points
@DesertPenguin 25th with 6 points
@TVV0_ 26th with 5 points

Noticeables go to SAMHAIN85 who had to win to win the series.
TEX36 who beat MalevolentFather by 1 position in the final race, ultimately earning him the win over Malevolent by 1 point (Malevolent had the tiebreaker).
Mully who had his best results of the season at 5th (previous best result was 8th) and jumped DublDee in the points

Great racing last night, I will PM the driver who is choosing the first combo of next season.
