Event #4 Drivers Meeting

Grid Business
Good morning to everyone who raced in Friday's event #4 of our inaugural Gr3 series for SNAIL Friday Night Racing. We moved on to Mount Panorama with another light grid of 12 drivers. Apologies to all drivers for not getting this out prior to race night. It has been a very busy few weeks on the home front with a basement remodel, real world car activity, and family/friends time. Thanks to everyone who kept the race night going with hosting, score captures, and replay sharing. Quite bummed I mmissed this event, as this was the one I was looking forward to the most this season.

Here is the confirmation list and Driver Regulations for Event #4:

Welcome, and glad to have you join us.

To get started, please see the first post of this thread. Build you car to the specs as noted in tab 3.1. Run the Time Trial and send the results as instructed noted towards the beginning of the first post. I'll review the lap data and then confirm no change is needed to your driver regulation or I will return and update your driver PP regulation for you to run a follow up TT to confirm the change hit the intended pace range target. Once completed, I will confirm your final pp regulation and driver class. You can then build and/or finalize your livery with the correct class color and decals, adhering to the livery requirements in tab 3.2, and then send a driver side profile picture to me via PSN (PSN ID - NOVA-0479).

Lastly, always be sure to confirm your attendance as soon as possible. The 16 grid spots are awarded on a "first to confirm attending" basis after an event night is completed. We have four open spots remaining for Event #5 on June 26th. If available, be sure to confirm.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. See you on track soon.

Post Race Report and Scoring
Event #4 at Mount Panorama

(in order of Season Standings after Event #4)
(both drop scores will be counted going into Events 5-9)
Award Recognition
Checkered Flag = Single Race Wins
Track Map Outline = Overall Event Wins

For me, it was the first event in a long time I was not able to attend, and do I wish I could have. Mount Panorama is one of my favorites and for this series, was one I was most looking forward to. It looks like I was not the only one with a busy Friday night, as we only had 12 drivers post up for the Race 1 start. I am hoping we get back to some stronger grids going into our Norht American and European legs of the series. Have a look at the replays for how it all shook out...always worth the watch.
Race broadcasts will be made available for viewing, but you can also view the actual in-game replays through the search tag: snailv8sc. Feel free to elaborate on any battle/exchanges you may have shared.
Overall, it looked to be a great night of racing.

Minimal lag/jittering was present across the field, but was overall manageable.

Now for Scoring:
Congratulations to Yugofan / @Yugofan (#46) on the Overall Win. Great work!!

Also, Congratulations to our Top 3 Overall:
1st: Yugofan / @Yugofan (#46)
2nd: Sand__68 / @socalnatv (#68)
3rd: DucatiRobb / @Bologna_Duc (#88)

Awards:
Yugofan / @Yugofan (#46), please apply apply a "white" track map decal of the Mount Panorama track map to your driver side quarter window or in the c-pillar just behind it in recognition of your overall Event #4 win.

Sand__68 / @socalnatv (#68) , please apply one checkered flag decal linked below in recognition of your Race 1 win. >>>> Awards Link for Details and Decals

DucatiRobb / @Bologna_Duc (#88) , please apply one checkered flag decal linked below in recognition of your Race 2 win. >>>> Awards Link for Details and Decals

Series main Spotters Guide and Driver Profile page has been updated in order of driver standings with award tags and overall podium placement acknowledgements.>>>Driver Profile Page and Spotters Guide Link

For any drivers that care to participate in displaying their Driver Standing for next event, please see the spoiler tab below for details. Please verify your current driver standing on the scoresheet provided, or by the driver profile page linked in this post. Please be sure to update your livery prior to each event. If in doubt, simply remove the numbers before the event. See the Spoiler tab below:
Driver Standings Recognition
Drivers will be encouraged, not required, to display their current driver standing going into each event after Event #1, though there will be a few rules and requirements.
Drivers who are interested in diplaying their current standing, should collect the following green digital numbers 0-9.
19298d4c15a5-screenshotUrl.jpg

After scoring is finalized and Post Race report issued, drivers will be cleared to edit their driver standing on their number board along with any award tags. Drivers should apply their Standing on both side's boards and be sure their number is in line with their actual standing in the Championship.
Should look like this:
19298d4a4df4-screenshotUrl.jpg

Rules and requirements:
To maintain accuracy and integrity to this recognition, drivers who choose to add their standing to their car will be required to submit an updated profile picture before each event with their scrutineering tuning sheet. Submissions will be reviewed post event just as I do for the driver regulations.
If a driver forgets to submit the car picture with a standing displayed or has the wrong standing placement displayed , it will result in a 5 point penalty against the overall event score. This has to be in place to ensure that those who want to display their standing, maintains the attention and accuracy for it to be credible.
If choosing to display, be sure your edited livery is correct, accurate, and saved prior to each event. If unsure or not interested in displaying your standing, simply leave it blank or just apply double zeros.
The profile pictures will not be used for the Driver profile page, only for scrutineering to maintain the integrity of this recognition.
Again, this is optional, but if done correctly, it will be a great way to know who is where in the standings as the season unfolds.

Below is the PP Regulation changes after Event #4. Drivers with changes noted, please adjust and tune accordingly.
Race Lobby PP Max Regulation for Event #4 remains set to 755.00 PP
(PP adjustments are based off of raw preliminary results, before the issuance of any penalties)
(Please be sure to set Max PP correctly, as noted above, for practice lobbies to allow those drivers with concessions to enter)

Next Event (#5) Driver Regulations are noted in the far right column.

Track Map and Boundaries
1780951178558.webp

Keep 2 wheels on or within the white line where curbing is not present, or on the curbs where they are present at all times, except where it is specifically noted otherwise. The white line and curbing is considered legal track surface. Failure to comply to track boundaries could result in penalties if infractions are witnessed and reported.

Road Atlanta Exceptions:
Turns 2 and 3 Chicane and Turns 10a and 10b:
Any solid painted curbing beyond the checkered curbing will be considered legal track surface. 2 wheels must remian in contact with the painted surface/curbing at all times.

Turn 5 (T5)
1729348488725.png

For this corner, Turn 5 at the end of the S's the large checker curbing will be considered track surface...2 wheels must remain in contact at all times. In this instance, it is obvious that you would want to keep all tires on the curbing to avoid contact with the gravel.
Beyond the curbing, where the tarmac runoff is past the white line, will be considered legal track surface up to where the grass begins. 2 wheels must be on or inside the white line where the grass starts at the exit of the corner.

Event #4 - Mount Panorama Circuit

Event #4 / Race #1 Recap

Event 4 - SpotterGuide.webp

Preamble:
Mount Panorama tends to always be included in Snail's Friday Night Series. In 2023 the event was won by @DublDee, in 2024 it was won by @Kgffy. The Event was dropped for the 2025 season but it's back on the schedule for this 2026 season.

Approximately 30 minutes before race-time we got word that Series organizer @llNovall had to drop out to due a family function but he's got a great core group of drivers that were able to pull off the Event in his absence.

The changes to the grid from Event #3 are as follows:
Series newcomer @VoidChevalier made the trip Down Under and participated for the Qualifying Session but his car would not make it to the grid at race-time.

Qualifying Table:
Event 4 Quali Table 1.webp

Event 4 Quali Table 2.webp

The Pole bonus goes to @socalnatv and it wasn't close. Those of us that spent time in practice lobbies were probably ready to award him this bonus before the Qualifying session began. @DRD_Niagara managed to bump @DublDee off the front row on his last lap by a mere 0.003 seconds. This probably robbed us of a Corvette vs Corvette drag race between turns 1 and 2 but @DublDee will start on the 2nd row besides @Yugofan. Row #3 will have @bublyman and @Bologna_Duc.

As stated, @VoidChevalier wouldn't make it to the grid but @Kgffy, fresh from the dentist chair for wisdom tooth extraction procedures, who missed qualifying will start from the pits.

Event #4 / Race #1:

LAP #1:
For the first time since the 2024 season, it's Lights Out from Down-Under. @DRD_Niagara got off the line a little quicker but by the exit of Turn 1, @socalnatv managed to get himself ahead. @DublDee looked to see if he can get his powerful Corvette through but the line wasn't there just yet.
SHARE_20260607_0506480.webp

LAP #1:
@Crunchy Taco got sliding on cold tires climbing the mountain and took a few bumps while ghosting in and out including this hard impact involving @CdnSweetTee when un-ghosted.
SHARE_20260607_0507230.webp

LAP #1:
The Corvettes were speeding. @socalnatv got away from the pack cleanly and on the first opportunity down the long back straight, @DublDee blew by @DRD_Niagara to move into 2nd place.
SHARE_20260607_0507440.webp

LAP #1 - Lead Change:
Moments later, A misjudged braking point by @socalnatv after the long straight at Turn 21 had him go a little too deep. Not a big error but the loss of speed allows @DublDee to take the lead. @DublDee gains two positions in this sector.
SHARE_20260607_0508080.webp

LAP #3 - Lead Change:
Another deep run but by @DublDee this time at Turn 2 of Lap 3. Again, not a big error but the kiss of the wall and loss of speed allows @socalnatv to reclaim his lead on the uphill. The three Z4's of @Yugofan, @Bologna_Duc and @DRD_Niagara round off the Top 5.
SHARE_20260607_0508330.webp

LAP #4:
@socalnatv is pulling away. Pictured below are cars running 2 through 6 on the technical downhill section lead by @DublDee.
SHARE_20260607_0509060.webp

LAP #5:
Race marshals look on as @CdnSweetTee, in 8th spot would unsettle her car on the uphill on Lap #5. @Crunchy Taco takes the position and moved into 10th.
SHARE_20260607_0509300.webp

LAP #7:
Decent stuff between @cesarr64 and @Kgffy. They've exchanged positions a few times and @Kgffy would get a cleaner exit of Turn 18, just prior to the straight. The two would continue to do battle in this race.
SHARE_20260607_0509540.webp

LAP #8:
@socalnatv still leading by a decent margin but @DublDee, still in 2nd, hasn't been able to drop the three Z4's that have been pestering him since Lap 3.
SHARE_20260607_0510170.webp

LAP #8:
Moments later, @Bologna_Duc's car would get unsettled between turns 21 and 22 and end up deep into the grass. He'd drop from 4th place to 7th.
SHARE_20260607_0510390.webp

LAP #9:
@JDMKING13 is just about to finish Lap #9, currently in 6th place chasing for @bublyman's 5th position.
SHARE_20260607_0510590.webp

LAP #10:
@Bologna_Duc dropping off a few laps earlier left @DublDee with two Z4's to deal with. They didn't battle each other too hard but instead set their sights on reeling in that Corvette.
SHARE_20260607_0511190.webp

LAP #11:
Turn 2 was @DublDee's kryptonite in this Race. Not a crucial error but he's got sliding a little bit and the loss of speed allowed @Yugofan and @DRD_Niagara to move ahead.
SHARE_20260607_0511440.webp

LAP #13:
Having put a little distance between them and @DublDee's Corvette, The two Z4's still had issues to sort out as to who will potentially be standing where on the podium.
SHARE_20260607_0512080.webp

LAP #15:
For a while it looked like @JDMKING13 might be closing the gap to @bublyman but he got sideways between the walls on the decent and had to perform the Austin Powers maneuver to straighten himself out.
SHARE_20260607_0512270.webp

LAP #16:
@socalnatv was way too strong in this one. He converts his Pole position to a dominant win by 11 seconds. It's his 1st win of the season and he'll be on the top step of the podium flanked by @Yugofan and @DRD_Niagara.
SHARE_20260607_0512480.webp

@socalnatv also goes on to bad the Fastest Lap bonus with an absurd 2:00.941. @Crunchy Taco would post the 2nd Fastest Lap at 2:01.286 and @JDMKING13 with the 3rd at 2:01.389.

Final Thoughts:
  • A huge thanks to @bublyman who stepped up and did an admiral job with hosting duties and pre-race procedures. The Event went off as planned and the lobby seemed very stable.
  • Full & Part-Time Drivers wanted for Snail's Sunday Night Spec League. I'm continually trying to pull in new recruits but it leaves a better early impression on them with full grids. We all got our starts there, pop in from time to time. If you're out doing Daily Races or other series, talk us up and send them over.
  • A few messages prior to this recap, I see one of my recent Spec League recruits - @Smithy 1989 - has shown interest in our Friday Series. Glad you made your way over.

Event #4 - Mount Panorama Circuit
Friday June 5, 2026

Event #4 / Race #2 Recap

Event 4 - SpotterGuide.webp

Preamble:
Finally getting caught up with this. We'll recall we only had 11 cars on the grid that registered points in Race #1. We lost @Kgffy and @CdnSweetTee at intermission meaning we've down to to 9 cars taking the grid for Race #2.

The grid is set in reverse order for Race #2 meaning Row #1 will have @Crunchy Taco line up next to @cesarr64. @Bologna_Duc and @JDMKING13 behind them and @bublyman @DublDee will start from Row #3.

Event #4 / Race #2:

LAP #1:
We might only be 9 but it'll still be the Thunder from down Under. It's lights out from Mount Panorama and @Crunchy Taco does well to get off the line quickly.
SHARE_20260618_0941380.webp

LAP #1:
Exiting Turn 1, it's @Crunchy Taco and @Bologna_Duc who get out cleanly. Behind them though, it looks like @JDMKING13's car got a little squirrely and q few cars ended up making contact. Caution was called to get the grid back to together and racing resumed towards the top of the mountain later on Lap #1.
SHARE_20260618_0942100.webp

LAP #1 - Lead Change:
On the last turn of Lap #1, @Crunchy Taco went a hair too deep and his right rear tire kicked up a little dirt. That was all @Bologna_Duc needed to get ahead and into the lead.
SHARE_20260618_0942280.webp

LAP #2:
The mountain is difficult at the onset of a race. @Crunchy Taco, still in 2nd, would ride the wall a bit on the decent. Disaster avoided but he does give up positions to @DublDee and to @Yugofan.
SHARE_20260618_0942480.webp

LAP #3:
Real good stuff climbing the mountain in Lap #3 between @Crunchy Taco, @bublyman, @DRD_Niagara and @JDMKING13 in positions #5 through #8.
SHARE_20260618_0944080.webp

On LAP #5 we would lose @cesarr64 who had to retire the car due to mechanical issues.

LAP #7:
@Bologna_Duc still leads and @DublDee was running 2nd until he crashed hard into the walls coming down the mountain on LAP #7. @Yugofan does well avoiding him, their wings just inches apart. @socalnatv, just behind in 4th also manages to avoid contact.
SHARE_20260618_0944260.webp

LAP #8:
They might be further back in the 7th and 8th spot, carry high PP deficits but @JDMKING13 and @bublyman still apear to be having a good time at the summit of the mountain.
SHARE_20260618_0944420.webp

LAP #9:
@Bologna_Duc having a real nice drive for himself at the front and enjoying a healthy lead over @Yugofan and @socalnatv. A little further back and just entering the picture is @Crunchy Taco and @DRD_Niagara.
SHARE_20260618_0945000.webp

LAP #10:
Bad news for @socalnatv who was running in 3rd and applying good pressure on @Yugofan at times but he suffered from wheel spin on the uphill on LAP #10. Th error would drop him from 3rd to 8th.
SHARE_20260618_0945170.webp

LAP #14:
With @cesarr64 retiring his car, we we're down to 8 cars and we've had quite a few mistakes so our grid is somewhat spread out. @Crunchy Taco and @DRD_Niagara are still paired up together and a little further back is @DublDee, @JDMKING13 and @bublyman, running 5th through 7th.
SHARE_20260618_0945370.webp

LAP #15:
This one likely stung for awhile. I was enjoying chasing @Crunchy Taco who was running in 3rd and might be having his finest hour as a Snail, certainly in his young career in @llNovall's Friday Night Series but he exited Turn #4 with a little slide and put it into the wall costing him a potential podium.
SHARE_20260618_0945510.webp

LAP #16:
A really strong run by @Bologna_Duc who took the lead towards the end of LAP #1 and sees it through for his 2nd race of the season (Fuji, Event #3 / Race #1). He'll be joined on the podium by @Yugofan and @DRD_Niagara.
SHARE_20260618_0946080.webp

@socalnatv captures the Fastest Lap Bonus with an insane 2:00.939. Slightly faster than his 2:00.941 he put down in Race #1. His qualifying time was 2:01.014. @socalnatv was the fastest man in Australia and it wasn't close.

Final Thoughts:
  • Despite the deadly speed of the Corvettes in this series (Cheat Code on the Straights...) the BMW Z4's managed a 1-2-3- finish in this race.
  • Another oddball Event where some folks had to drop off for this one including Series organizer @llNovall but we now know we've got a good backup host with great connection in @bublyman. We've had 18 drivers participate to some extend and we're down to 5 that managed all 8 races. On that note...
  • The Ironman Award - @bublyman / @Bologna_Duc / @DRD_Niagara / @JDMKING13 / @cesarr64.
  • @Crunchy Taco - This my 4th season in the series and by now I've seen just about every driver suffer gut wrenching spins and crashes mere minutes away from great races. There's way more positives than negatives for you to take away in this one. Great race.
  • Double Podium Club - @socalnatv (Yas Marina) / @bublyman (Suzuka) / @llNovall (Fuji) / @Yugofan & @DRD_Niagara (Mount Panorama)
  • Drivers Wanted - Snail Sunday SPEC League - Get out there. Full Time and Part-Time drivers wanted. In case you folks didn't know, we've moved our Sunday start times from 9:30 EST to 8:30 EST. You west coast boys got no excuses now. (Looking at you @socalnatv)
That's how I interpreted Event #4 / Race #2.

* REMINDER *

We are under a week out from Event #5 at Road Atlanta on Friday, 6/26/26 at 9pm est.

Reminder to any drivers that have not yet confirmed, we are currently sitting at 12 drivers confirmed for the event. Please be sure to confirm you plan on joining us on the grid. Summer has presented challenges to securing a strong grid over the last two events. Let's get back to packing this grid. See many of you throughout this week for some practice, and the rest on race night.

Sign me up for this and the Porsche cup, please, even though I most likely will only be able to make practice lobbies on the weekends for now. Busy season should be over mid July so I may be able to attend for a few months after that.

Event #5 Drivers Meeting

Grid Business
Good afternoon to everyone who will be attending tomorrow night's event #5 of our inaugural Gr3 series for SNAIL Friday Night Racing. We now take the series to the first of our 3 events in North America. We currently have 15 drivers confirmed to race tomorrow night with no reserves. If you would like to race, a spot is still available to claim.

ALL drivers on the main race room grid should submit their spec sheets to my PSN: NOVA-0479 between the time that the room opens at 9pm est and the start of qualifying at 9:15pm est. (Drivers that were in the Pre-Qualifying session should submit these spec sheets again to the group psn or my psn before qualifying begins at 9:15pm est)
I'd ask all drivers to make sure they are running a wired connection in any way possible and to clear their network cache before entering the race room to avoid any issues. It seems the online lobbies run based on the slowest running system and/or internet speed in the room....basically throttles everyone down which appears to cause the instability we have experienced in the past. Let's try to head off any of these issues and optimize everything on our own ends that we can to help. For those with faster internet service speeds (over 200mbps+), it seems there are less issues with stability. For those on slower internet speeds or forced to run wirelessly, their network appears to be affected more when other in the household are online and pulling from the service speed. See this link to optimize your network priority for the gaming, and try to reduce internet usage (if possible) elsewhere in the house when racing.

Get them final practice laps in, and be ready for tomorrow night.

Reminder to all drivers:
The first 16 confirmed drivers are holding 1 of 16 guaranteed grid spots. Any additonal confrimed drivers are Reserve Drivers to bump in with priority based on order of confirmation. Please notify me as soon as reasonably possible if you are unable to make the event. The latest acceptable notice without any recourse is 9:10pm est.

Drivers Briefing
A few reminders for Fuji Int'l:
1.) Be mindful in the opening laps. Be patient, and avoid contact/incident at all cost. Incidents that result in an issued caution, in the opening 2 laps, will come under automatic review for any possible infractions and penalized as necessary. Please be patient, brake earlier, and respect your opponent driver's space/line...they are not brakes or guard rails.
2.) Tight Sections and Chicanes: There is no written rule for these sections, but I'd ask all drivers to exercise caution and good judgement through these sections. Know when you have lost the position when approaching these sections, and be considerate enough to back out to avoid the risk of incidents. This series will continue to induce some very close quarters racing, and one slow up, or mistake could result in yourself, both, or many drivers losing position....don't be that guy. If both drivers are dead on, side by side, proceed with caution, and hold your lines. Just be warned that attempting to go side by side in these sections cleanly will slow both of you down and almost guarantee a loss of position(s) from other attacking drivers. BE CAREFUL and AVOID CONTACT.
3.) See this Event Details Link and review for driver specs, race details, and allowable track boundaries for Road Atlanta.

Final Reminders:
-Please be sure that everyone is on a wired connection to their PS5 (in any way possible)
-Clear cache before entering the race room
Lets try to do the best we can to reduce the jitters within the lobby.
Any drivers that are noted or noticed to create continuous issues will be asked to retire for the event.
