Good evening Drivers,

I need to request a date change for Event #4 due to family coming in the weekend of our May 22nd event. Please confirm if you can make next Friday, May 15th work. If everyone cannot make next Friday, I will keep the original 5/22 date and have to resign from Event #4. In the event we must run on 5/22, I will need someone to take point on hosting.

Please confirm if you can make May 15th for Event #4.

Alright everyone,
The majority of drivers that confirmed for May 22nd were also able to confirm for the Event #4 date change to Friday, June 5th. I will update all details. Should be a great event with the extra practice afforded. Anyone that did not confirm for the June 5th date, please do so asap.

Thanks all.

Event #3 / Race #2 Recap

SpotterGuide.webp

Preamble:
Work had me away a couple times in the last few weeks for blocks of 2 or 3 days so I'm late on this one. Better late than never.

We'll recall we had a small grid for this event but there was still plenty of action on the grid including a battle for the ages between @JDMKING13 to dealt with intense pressure from @Bologna_Duc for most of this one.

The grid is set to reverse order. @cesarr64 and @ThOrangeGoats will line up on the front row. @bublyman and @JakeMk8 on the second row and @Yugofan and @JDMKING13 on row #3.

Event #3 / Race #2

LAP #1:
For the last time in Japan this season, it's lights out. @cesarr64 gets himself a decent start and will lead us towards Turn 1.

LAP #1 - Lead Change:
In sector #2, @Kgffy opts for the inside line and gets ahead of @cesarr64 to take the lead. @bublyman, @llNovall and @Yugofan currently occupy positions 3 through 5.
SHARE_20260511_1107140.webp

LAP #1:
Towards the rear, @ThOrangeGoats got his tires dirty in the braking zone of Turn 10 and spun across the track into the grass. The stewards were very harsh on him in assessing a track reset.
SHARE_20260511_1107340.webp

LAP #5:
The top 5 are pictured in sector 3. @Kgffy, @bublyman, @llNovall, @JDMKING13 and @Bologna_Duc. At Suzuka, we saw @DublDee's Land of The Rising Sun livery. I felt I needed to capture @Bologna_Duc's version in this recap. Nice job to both drivers.
SHARE_20260511_1107550.webp

LAP #8:
We're less than halfway through this race but themes are emerging. @JDMKING13 and @Bologna_Duc were paired together for most of the race. And just behind them is @Yugofan and @DRD_Niagara also paired up.
SHARE_20260511_1108150.webp

LAP #11:
@Kgffy is starting his 11th Lap and he seems dialed in as he builds a decent lead for himself. @bublyman and @llNovall are trying to keep eyes on @Kgffy.
SHARE_20260511_1108320.webp

LAP #12:
Ohh-No. A very costly slip between Turns 1 and 2 would send @Kgffy into the wall. He avoids disaster but his lead is in jeopardy.
SHARE_20260511_1108540.webp

LAP #12 - Lead Change:
A few Turns later, @bublyman would get ahead of @Kgffy and assume the lead of the race.
SHARE_20260511_1109140.webp

LAP #13:
@Kgffy didn't go away, he battled @bublyman and for a brief moment, powered himself back into the lead by the end of the long straight but went a tad too deep at Turn 1 of Lap #13 and @bublyman was again able to move into 1st place.
SHARE_20260511_1109400.webp

LAP #15:
Turn 1 is giving @Kgffy fits at this point in the race. Again, he goes slightly too deep and gets his tires on the slick green turf. No slip or spin but a loss of speed opens the door for @llNovall to move into 2nd place.
SHARE_20260511_1110010.webp

LAP #15:
There's some good stuff in mid grid. @DRD_Niagara, running 7th, is having difficulties pulling in @Yugofan who in turn is having difficulties pulling in @Bologna_Duc and @JDMKING13.
SHARE_20260511_1110011.webp

LAP #19:
The battle for 4th place between @JDMKING13 and @Bologna_Duc was fun to watch and they gave us an awesome finish. It seems like @Bologna_Duc applied pressure on @JDMKING13 for 15+ Laps and he actually came out of the last turn of the race ahead of @JDMKING13 but the Mustang was too much and managed to out-power @Bologna_Duc's Z4 to the finish line.
SHARE_20260511_1110340.webp

The battle made for doing the Broadcast for the last few laps pretty easy. I could have selected the carera from @Bologna_Duc's cockpit and kept it there for the last 5 Laps or so.

LAP #19:
Japan has been good to @bublyman. He sees it through for the win and is the first driver to bag multiple wins this season after a win at Suzuka in Event #2. He's joined on the podium by @llNovall (who manages a double podium at Fuji) and by @Kgffy.
SHARE_20260511_1110500.webp

@Kgffy scores the Fastest Lap Bonus by putting down a 1:37.570, the fastest lap of the Event by a decent margin.

Final Thoughts:
  • Life got in the way at the last second for several of our drivers for this event but we'll bounce back for Event #4 at Road Atlanta.
  • The trip to Japan proved worthwhile to the following drivers:
  • New recruits still making their way to the Sunday Night Spec League and I can see some making their way to this series in the future. Let's send some bodies the other way. Get yourselves on the active drivers list. Nobody says you've got to race all night. Maybe the odd Combo has a car you feel is cool, then pop in and stay for a couple races.
That's how I interpreted Event #3 / Race #2

Liveries can be changed, but a driver side profile picture must be provided so I can update the driver profile page and spotters guide with the optional livery.
