Confirming for final at Spa, love this track, too bad we don’t have any random weather races in championship, not sure if this has been discussed before, there’s a lot too the game like weather or 24 hour time transition that would keep things a little fresh or and just my opinion throw in a old school track like Trial Mountain or HSR. Anyways looking forward too next season, I should have no more disruptions too race.

Reminder, sign ups for next session:

SNAIL Michelin Pilot Challenge

We're sitting at only 12 drivers rosted so far. As everyone knows, I will not Greenwich a start date until we have a roster of 20 driver. Please get the word out, an dif you haven't sign up and would like to race, please see the link to get started. Targeted starting date is closing in. Hate to push it back, but I will not start until numbers are reached.

Also, anyone that submitted a time trial will need to run again under the new physics model. Please run again and re-submit asap.

Lastly, 1 more event to go on the V8+ Supercars series. Get them laps in and it should be a greta run to the finish.

So, what kind of lap times are ya all seeing in practice lobbies?

So, what kind of lap times are ya all seeing in practice lobbies?
Didn’t see much others people in practice lobby. I ran a few run for now, I managed to reach the 2:16.000 for now and I think 2:15.000 is possible.

You must be using nitrous !!!
15’s ??? Wow.

I’ve had a best lap at 2:18.3 but it was a fluke. Mostly mid/low 19’s with an occasional high 18. New physics are not friendly to me.

I hit a few 16’s but mid to high 17’s will likely be my race pace.

I hit a few 16’s but mid to high 17’s will likely be my race pace.
I’ve hit a 2:16.300 yesterday evening. That’s why I think the 2:15.xxx is gonna be possible with a less down power car than me.

I am averaging low 2:16.XXXs with an occasional dip into 2:15.6XX. Since its the last race of the season I want to personally thank Nova for putting on this series. This was my first ever league racing series. It has been buckets of fun. It has also improved my racing pace tenfold. I have learned a lot about tuning and driving in traffic (this is a work in progress) as well. When you drive a one car for an extended period (8,000 miles in one season) you discover a lot of the nuances that lead to a faster pace, especially in the area of braking and brake pressure to get the the car to rotate. Thank you Nova for your hard work, allowing my constantly changing liveries and I am looking forward to the Pilot Challenge.

Just a week to go until the season finale! Still waiting for the post race and recaps from Barcelona…..🤔
Been a heck of a season and should be a good points battle in the final. Watch for practice lobbies this weekend and coming week. Hoping we can get a full lobby for the last race of this season, so please try to be there everyone!

Event #8 / Race #1 Recap

Insert Spotters Guide Here
( @llNovall )

Preamble:
@DublDee - Ask and you shall receive....

Forgive my tardiness in recapping this one. This was our first Event since GT7's 1.71 update which required all of us to get comfortable with the physics. I've had zero complaints with my car up until this point but the 1.71 update completely broke the Z4. I know my fellow Z4 drivers feel the same.

This my 4th season in Snail's Friday Night Series, and only the 2nd time @llNovall has taken his show to Barcelona-Catalunya. Past winners at Barcelona include:
The particular Event also marked the low point in my 4 season in terms of attendance as only 9 drivers showed up. The changes from Event 7 to Event 8 include:
Qualifying Table:
Quali Table 1.webp

Quali Table 2.webp

@Crunchy Taco does really well to grab his first Pole Bonus of the season with a blazing fast 1:40.638, which was about 0.5 seconds ahead of @bublyman 1:41.201.

I highlight the two Z4's at the back of the field to further illustrate my thoughts on what the effects the 1.71 update had on the Z4.

Event #8 / Race #1:

LAP #1:
@Crunchy Taco's Aston Martin will lead the small grid of 9 cars down the straight to Turn 1.
SHARE_20260913_0341100.webp

LAP #1:
The grid gets away cleanly, perhaps the only error was a slip by @CdnSweetTee between Turns 1 and 2 that would cost her the decent 4th spot she earned in Qualifying. She would drop towards teh back in 9th place. 9th with

LAP #3:
Towards the end of Lap 3, @Crunchy Taco still building a nice lead for himself and has already logged the Fastest Lap of the race with a 1:40.203. A few seconds behind, running in 2nd and 3rd, @bublyman is already in @DublDee's back seat and applying intense pressure.
SHARE_20260913_0341550.webp

LAP #6:
@Yugofan, @DRD_Niagara & @CdnSweetTee are towards the back running 7, 8 and 9th. Barcelona was frustrating for the Z4's.

LAP #10:
@JDMKING13 and @Mac1032763 spent most of this race paired up together in 5th and 6th place.
SHARE_20260913_0342460.webp

LAP #13:
@Crunchy Taco is still going strong at the front and still logging the odd lap in the high 1:40's which is pretty impressive. In the distance, positions 2 and 3 also haven't changed but @bublyman still has @DublDee playing defense.
SHARE_20260913_0343080.webp

LAP #15:
There's only 9 cars on the track and for the most part, they're all able to enjoy some space with the exception of @DublDee, who's had @bublyman in his kitchen for a long time. @bublyman had a little slip between Turns 12 and 13 which hopefully allowed @DublDee a moment to have a sip of the beer he keeps near his rig.
SHARE_20260913_0343280.webp

LAP #19:
What does @bublyman do after his slip on Lap #15? He proceeds to log his 3 fastest laps of the his race to get himself right back on @DublDee bumper.
SHARE_20260913_0344000.webp

LAP #19:
@Crunchy Taco sees it through. He gave away some decent races this season (Event #4 - Mount Panorama) but goes wire-to-wire to hang onto this win. Standing next to him on the podium will be @DublDee and @bublyman.
SHARE_20260913_0344390.webp

@Crunchy Taco also complimented his Pole Bonus with the Fastest Laps Bonus with a 1:40.209.

Final Thoughts:
  • Once again, a well deserved win by @Crunchy Taco in this one. And a really good race by @DublDee who had to sweat this one out for an extended period of time keeping @bublyman behind him.
  • @socalnatv seemed to be all by his lonesome self in this one in 4th. Apologies for not capturing him in any pictures in this recap.
  • Not sure when I'll get the Race #2 recap out but it's on my mind. Should @llNovall provide me with a Spotter Guide, this post will be edited to properly show it at the top.
That's how I interpreted Event #8 / Race #2

Hi all,
Sorry for absence and late post race report and evet details post. The driver regs in post #2 are current, and event details can be viewed in 1st post. I am at the end of our fiscal year at work, and the last 3 weeks has been a heavy push for end of year driver reviews, quarterly bonus evals, and having to interview and hire 8 drivers before Oct 15th. Needless to say, even when time is afforded, the mood hasn't been there to get in the seat or to dive back behind d the computer on prep work. I am hoping to get some laps in this week for our finale, but so far, from what has been reported, my 2:20's have me 4-5 seconds off the fl pace. Going to be grinder. Ashame this update came when it did, but it definitely hit some cars differently that has skewed our parity regulations. Unfortunate, but we close to finishing this one out and on to preparing for our next Michelin Pilot Challenge. I'm hoping to have the post race report and event details out by Monday evening. Thanks for everyone's patience.

Well, if you’re lapping in the 20’s or 19’s, you’ll have me to race with. I’ve gone thru my full list of tunes for this season and just can’t get anywhere near a 17, let alone 16’s. I know I’ve said this more than once but these new physics are not working out for me in this car. I was really happy with how good I felt in that corvette before the update, but it’s all gone now. Every time I think I’ve nailed a good lap at Spa, crossing the finish line proves me wrong. I’m struggling to get enthused about the game. I haven’t tested any cars for the next season yet, but I have a feeling that I might not be in a corvette again.

I definitely feel your pain, Sir! I’m in the RV hauling business now, and we’re experiencing the exact same challenge—finding drivers, or more importantly, finding quality drivers
I could easily use another 7–10 drivers right now. The big RV show in Indiana was just last week, and several dealers have already told us they’re planning to place some considerable orders. They’ve basically told us to be prepared for what’s coming.
The turnover in this industry is mind-blowing, to say the least. Unfortunately, our current fleet of drivers is getting closer and closer to retirement age, and finding suitable replacements is becoming more challenging every year.
We’ve lost several drivers over the past couple of years—some to retirement, some due to injuries, and others who either moved on to the competition or left the industry altogether. At the same time, the newer generation entering the trucking industry seems to be a very different breed of driver. The work ethic and commitment simply aren’t what they used to be, and on top of that, you lose an incredible amount of experience when a driver with 20+ years behind the wheel retires or leaves the industry.
That kind of experience simply cannot be replaced overnight—or bought with any amount of money. It takes years to develop, and when you lose those seasoned drivers, you lose a tremendous amount of knowledge, reliability, and mentorship along with them.
Anyway, I hope the process goes/went smooth and you have better luck than I have had lately, with hiring! The struggle is real!

I am going to have to bow out of the season finale. I am getting ready for a dune trip and what I thought was a simple battery replacement turned out to be mice in my wiring harness. SO this week I will be in my garage get my UTV ready for our dune trip.

Post Race Report and Scoring
Event #8 at Barcelona

(in order of Season Standings after Event #8)
(both drop scores are counted toward Events 5-9)
Award Recognition
Checkered Flag = Single Race Wins
Track Map Outline = Overall Event Wins

Very low attendance for race night in our Gr3 V8+ Supercars with 9 drivers on the grid in Race 1 and down to 7 to start Race 2 with 6 finishing. It is unfortunate, but it does appear the update 1.71 had a profound impact on the parity that had been established over the season. Either way, great racing to everyone and congrats to our podium runners for Event #8. Life has been very busy for me over the last few weeks along with frustration over the update keeping me out of the seat...just haven't been motivated much lately. Hence the late Post Race report, Event Details, and Pre-Race Briefing foir Event #9. Hoping the next update knocks some of the edges off along with time trialing under the new physics should hopefully get us back to a formula to promote the close and consistent parity we have come to enjoy for these series. I will eventually catch up on the Spotters Guides for archiving, but it will be a minute before I can get to them. I will update the driver profile page with current standings in the correct order before Event #9.
Race broadcasts will be made available for viewing, but you can also view the actual in-game replays through the search tag: snailv8sc. Feel free to elaborate on any battle/exchanges you may have shared.

Minimal lag/jittering was present across the field, but was overall manageable.

Now for Scoring:
Congratulations to NDUB-L-DEE / @DublDee (#33) on the Overall Win. Great work!!
Also, Congratulations to our Top 3 Overall:
1st: DUB-L-DEE / @DublDee (#33)
2nd: Ou8beaver2 / @Crunchy Taco (#77)
3rd: Sand__68 / @socalnatv (#68)

Awards:
DUB-L-DEE / @DublDee (#33), please apply apply a "white" track map decal of the Barcelona track map to your driver side quarter window or in the c-pillar just behind it in recognition of your overall Event #8 win.

DUB-L-DEE / @DublDee (#33) , please apply one checkered flag decal linked below in recognition of your Race 1 win. >>>> Awards Link for Details and Decals

Ou8beaver2 / @Crunchy Taco (#77) , please apply one checkered flag decal linked below in recognition of your Race 2 win. >>>> Awards Link for Details and Decals

Series main Spotters Guide and Driver Profile page has been updated in order of driver standings with award tags and overall podium placement acknowledgements.>>>Driver Profile Page and Spotters Guide Link

*For Transparency, due to an off track/cut at the exit of the final chicane on the pole winning lap, a 5 second penalty was assessed against Nova's Race 1 total race time along with the 1 point pole lap bonus which was given to Sand_68. The race total time results reflect the actual race time differences. Nova was able to cover off the 5 second penalty to retain first place in Race 1, but did forfeit the qualifying bonus point.

For any drivers that care to participate in displaying their Driver Standing for next event, please see the spoiler tab below for details. Please verify your current driver standing on the scoresheet provided, or by the driver profile page linked in this post. Please be sure to update your livery prior to each event. If in doubt, simply remove the numbers before the event. See the Spoiler tab below:
Driver Standings Recognition
Drivers will be encouraged, not required, to display their current driver standing going into each event after Event #1, though there will be a few rules and requirements.
Drivers who are interested in diplaying their current standing, should collect the following green digital numbers 0-9.
19298d4c15a5-screenshotUrl.jpg

After scoring is finalized and Post Race report issued, drivers will be cleared to edit their driver standing on their number board along with any award tags. Drivers should apply their Standing on both side's boards and be sure their number is in line with their actual standing in the Championship.
Should look like this:
19298d4a4df4-screenshotUrl.jpg

Rules and requirements:
To maintain accuracy and integrity to this recognition, drivers who choose to add their standing to their car will be required to submit an updated profile picture before each event with their scrutineering tuning sheet. Submissions will be reviewed post event just as I do for the driver regulations.
If a driver forgets to submit the car picture with a standing displayed or has the wrong standing placement displayed , it will result in a 5 point penalty against the overall event score. This has to be in place to ensure that those who want to display their standing, maintains the attention and accuracy for it to be credible.
If choosing to display, be sure your edited livery is correct, accurate, and saved prior to each event. If unsure or not interested in displaying your standing, simply leave it blank or just apply double zeros.
The profile pictures will not be used for the Driver profile page, only for scrutineering to maintain the integrity of this recognition.
Again, this is optional, but if done correctly, it will be a great way to know who is where in the standings as the season unfolds.

Race Lobby PP Max Regulation for Event #8 remains set to 755.00 PP
(PP adjustments are based off of raw preliminary results, before the issuance of any penalties)
(Please be sure to set Max PP correctly, as noted above, for practice lobbies to allow those drivers with concessions to enter)

Event #9 Drivers Meeting

Grid Business
Good morning to everyone who will be attending tomorrow night's event #9 season finale of our inaugural Gr3 series for SNAIL Friday Night Racing. We now take the series to the second of two European venues, Spa. We currently have 12 drivers confirmed to race tomorrow night, with no reserves. If you would like to race, a spot is still available to claim.

Our Champion has already been established as he sits far enough away in points that even a perfect race night will not catch him. Congratualtions to Sand__68 / @socalnatv (#68) on another strong and great performing season!!

There is still a battle for 2nd-4th that with drivers sitting within 10 points. Still some placement postions to fight for.

ALL drivers on the main race room grid should submit their spec sheets to my PSN: NOVA-0479 between the time that the room opens at 9pm est and the start of qualifying at 9:15pm est. (Drivers that were in the Pre-Qualifying session should submit these spec sheets again to the group psn or my psn before qualifying begins at 9:15pm est)
I'd ask all drivers to make sure they are running a wired connection in any way possible and to clear their network cache before entering the race room to avoid any issues. It seems the online lobbies run based on the slowest running system and/or internet speed in the room....basically throttles everyone down which appears to cause the instability we have experienced in the past. Let's try to head off any of these issues and optimize everything on our own ends that we can to help. For those with faster internet service speeds (over 200mbps+), it seems there are less issues with stability. For those on slower internet speeds or forced to run wirelessly, their network appears to be affected more when other in the household are online and pulling from the service speed. See this link to optimize your network priority for the gaming, and try to reduce internet usage (if possible) elsewhere in the house when racing.

Get them final practice laps in, and be ready for tonight.

Reminder to all drivers:
The first 16 confirmed drivers are holding 1 of 16 guaranteed grid spots. Any additonal confrimed drivers are Reserve Drivers to bump in with priority based on order of confirmation. Please notify me as soon as reasonably possible if you are unable to make the event. The latest acceptable notice without any recourse is 9:10pm est.

Drivers Briefing
A few reminders for Barcelona:
1.) Be mindful in the opening laps. Be patient, and avoid contact/incident at all cost. Incidents that result in an issued caution, in the opening 2 laps, will come under automatic review for any possible infractions and penalized as necessary. Please be patient, brake earlier, and respect your opponent driver's space/line...they are not brakes or guard rails.
2.) Tight Sections and Chicanes: There is no written rule for these sections, but I'd ask all drivers to exercise caution and good judgement through these sections. Know when you have lost the position when approaching these sections, and be considerate enough to back out to avoid the risk of incidents. This series will continue to induce some very close quarters racing, and one slow up, or mistake could result in yourself, both, or many drivers losing position....don't be that guy. If both drivers are dead on, side by side, proceed with caution, and hold your lines. Just be warned that attempting to go side by side in these sections cleanly will slow both of you down and almost guarantee a loss of position(s) from other attacking drivers. BE CAREFUL and AVOID CONTACT.
3.) See this Event Details Link and review for driver specs, race details, and allowable track boundaries for Spa.

Final Reminders:
-Please be sure that everyone is on a wired connection to their PS5 (in any way possible)
-Clear cache before entering the race room
Lets try to do the best we can to reduce the jitters within the lobby.
Any drivers that are noted or noticed to create continuous issues will be asked to retire for the event.

Please Note: I am tentative for tonight. I am working on securing a backup host, someone to collect screenshots of the qualifying and race results, and someone to save and share the replays. If you would like to volunteer, please post.

Started off this season second guessing my car choice. But once event #1 was finished I knew I could get a handle on it. Great racing with several drivers throughout the season. I managed to limit the amount of mistakes I made and incidents I got into to. Some of my podiums were a result of just keeping it on track even though I didn’t have the same pace as many others. Thank goodness I was able to grab as many points as I did before the update. Would’ve been a completely different outcome if that happened early in the season.

Fingers crossed we get full grids for the next season !!!

Big thanks to everyone for racing so close and so clean !!!!

Good evening, all,
To all drivers racing tonight, good luck on the final event.

I will not be attending the final race event tonight. Very little practice, way off the pace, and the opportunity for a dinner date with my 11 year old daughter has pushed my interest away from the seat tonight.

We will need a few volunteers:
-Host?
-Qualifying and Score captures/screenshots?
-Replay Saves/Shares?

Please reply as soon as possible so I can announce here on thread.

Everyone have a great race night, and I'll be catching you all for the GR4 series hopefully to start next month pending the needed 20 drivers on the roster.
