Better late than never, here’s my entry for this new series. The Rothmans JAAAAG is ready for action.

Couldn’t resist the urge to insert a classic top gear reference once I found the Jaaaag decal.

Certainly not looking past our 2025 Cayman SuperCup finale tomorrow night but scrolling through this chat has got me pretty excited for the 2026 V8 series.

The variety of different cars is cool and will make for awesome pictures. By my count, we've got:
Viper = 2
BMW Z4 = 4
'20 AMG = 2
Corvette = 2
BMW M6 = 3
Mustang = 1
Lexus = 1
Jaguar = 1
Aston Martin = 2

@Worst_Driver - Yes, it is better late than never. And the #69 is all yours.

@Crunchy Taco - Nice to see you make your way from the Snail Spec League chat to a Nova Series Chat.

@yattman / @GusNaSa / @WFWR26 - you folks are welcome to go check out the Snail Spec League section. You've got a couple weeks to get to know some of the drivers before this series kicks off.

Series Update
As many of you know, the Porsche Series has come to a close with some very tight contention all the way to end for our 2nd series in a row. Final scoring, standings, and Post Race report will be out this weekend. Great job to all racers who saw the series to the end.
With that behind us, all sites are now turned toward the V8+ Supercars. The event dates have now been scheduled with our opener set for Friday, March 6th. This is to give us a full month to learn and get familiar with Yas Marina for our opener. From there, we will have a 3 week turn around to Event #2, and then proceed on monthly event intervals for the remainder of events.
All drivers that have not submitted an initial TT or their follow up TT should do so as soon as possible. If these are not recieved by race night, those driver's specs will default to the base 740.00pp for Event #1 with Event #1 data used for future events driver regulations.
Lastly, get to work on rendering and submitting your liveries. If a livery is needed, please let me know. I'm happy to put something together if needed.

I will have the driver regulations that I have so far posted this weekend, along with Event #1 details and conditions. Looking forward for our next series and first with the Gr3 cars.

Season Opener
Event #1 Race Details

March 6th, 2026, 9pm est
Yas Marina

Conditions:
Twighlight, SO2,
Dry and Pleasant
with a Few Clouds
17 laps

Welcome Drivers for our next series of SNAIL Friday Night Racing. This will be our first jump into the Gr3 Category for our V8+ Supercars. For our purpose, these are Front engine, rear wheel driver, modified Gr3 cars making V8 Supercsr power of between 600-700hp. Most driver's time trials have been received with enough data to establish classing and parity. Those who have completed all the required time trialing, your driver regulations have been set and are posted below in this post. This chart can also be found in Post #2 of the thread. Those who have yet to submit their time trial or who still need to re-submit their TT with the new specs are asked to do so as soon as possible. Once final regulations and classing are set, all drivers are also asked to verify, update, and submit a final screenshot of their updated livery if on a handicap or concession.

Below are the details for Event #1 at Yas Marina on Friday, March 6th, 2026.
Drivers are encouraged and reminded to confirm their attendance status as soon as possible to secure their spot on the grid for race night. Please see the Confimation and grid priority rules in the Spoiler tab below.

Driver Confirmation and Grid Priority Rules
*Grid priority is on a first come, first serve based upon each driver's confirmation to attend each event.
*First 16 Drivers to confirm for an event guarantee their entry and grid spot for that event
*Any Drivers that confirm outside the first 16 will be on a Reserve wait list based on when they confirmed as well.

I will be hosting practice sessions in the afternoons periodically over the next few weeks between 4pm-5pm est, and am sure there will be other rooms open during the evening prime-time. Get those laps in and be ready.

Date: March 6th, 2026 at 9pm est
Track: Yas Marina
Conditions: Twighlight, SO2, Dry and Pleasant with a Few Clouds
Laps: 17 laps /race
Target Lap Times: 1:53's-1:54's
(See Section 1, Tab 1.3 for Lobby Settings)

Track Map and Boundaries

Keep 2 wheels on or within the white line where curbing is not present, or on the curbs where they are present at all times, except where it is specifically noted otherwise. The white line and curbing is considered legal track surface. Failure to comply to track boundaries could result in penalties if infractions are witnessed and reported.

Exceptions and Specified areas:
None

Below is the link for the 2nd Post in the thread with the most updated driver regulations. Those with a star next to their spec still needs to run a follow up TT. Those without any drivers regulation have yet to submit. All data and follow up data must be submitted before race night on March 6th. Failure to do so will default your regulation to the base 740.00pp for event #1 and any lap data will be used to set the regulations for future events.
Drivers Regulations and Driver Roster

Please be sure to confirm your entry if wanting to compete.

Tentative as that is the weekend we will have our granddaughter...I was hoping for the 2/20/26 date.

Also, wouldn't racing at night be exciting?

For those that are new to the series, or may have not seen these before, there is now a dedicated SNAIL Friday Night Racing Archive folder. Alot of great racing, great Liveries, and great replays of our past series and seasons.

Also, as I was perusing through my past series replays, I came across some music-over race videos I put together when time was much more on my side. The time it took to sync up the song and get the racing action to match it almost makes me wish I had this kind of free time again. Anyway, have a peek and enjoy. See you all for more racing action soon.

This was from our first season on the Porsche Cup Challenege using tuned versions of the 991 GT3RS at Lago Maggiore GP.

And this one is from one of our early Michelin Pilot Challenge series at Mount Panorama. My favorite parts on this video is when @Kgffy and @Fudman420 are drag racing down the backstretch with the music slowed, and then @fruitloop31 's fishtail immediately after as the music picks up. Was hard and fun at the same time to sync it all up.

Practice lobbies are starting to pop up. Unscheduled but usually there is a post in Nova’s “V8+ Supercar” psn chat group. Sometimes the host wants to turn laps, sometimes there are short 5-7lap practice races. Frequently the races include ‘cautions’ to allow a regroup for spin recovery or incidental contact events. Early lobbies this far out from race night there is contact to be expected as people figure out close quarters racing particularly for this track which we’ve not yet raced in Nova’s format. So don’t be afraid to hop in. Save replays - I always learn a lot watching others.

Practice racing with @socalnatv @Yugofan and @bublyman.
