I don't know what this glitch is but I'll certainly not do it. I still have gold only in Monza, and that's thanks to my beloved G27. I plan on getting all golds but only when it's the last thing for me to get platinum.

What's wrong with people getting to content in the game that they spent their hard earned money on? Or do you need a reason to show off the fact you got gold?

I feel great for having won the Tank Car in GT4. I was ecstatic over winning every single F1 car in GT3. I wasn't bothered in the slightest that anyone else had it or could get it if they played long enough or copied someone else's save. Hell, three times out of four it was my save they were copying just so they could drive the cars.

GT5 isn't WoW, where you wear your acquisitions like a badge. For me it's more like a real life track day, where a bunch of like minded individuals can get together and just... you know... race? :D

So, am I the only idiot who haven't got gold at the Vettel challenge?

I did not exploit the glitches, and I won't do it. And I use DS3. I only got gold on Monza. I got silver on Nur, but I can't beat 2:09:000 barrier. I never did a 2:03:999 lap, which is a must to gold it. It's impossible for me... and I won't revert the updates to exploit the glitch!

How about PD reducing the gold times for about 1 second? It would still be hard as hell, but I could get my motivation back. Since everyone has gold already, how bad would it be?

I bronzed the challenge and never wanted to try again :lol. But I'm not with you on adding another second to the fastest lap; GT5 needs at least one hard challenge, because we all know that all the other races on the game aren't hard at all.

Adding even 0.5 second would pretty much ruin the challenge.
For example:
IIRC - when I just started the challenge (Nurburgring) I was running 1:05.5xx/1:05.0xx laps so that's 2:10.5xx total time.
1 day later I was doing 1:04.3xx/1:04.2xx so that's 2:08.5xx total time.
It took me 3 more days to shave that last 0.5 second.
 
I have gold in all three, but im not going to pretend i didnt cut chicanes at monza , because i did, as far as i knew theres no way of cheating to get gold in the other two though, GP/F wasnt too bad with practice but Suzuka was nearly impossible, i managed it by 8 thousandths of a second. But as for doing it with a pad?!?!?!?!? , geez, before i had a wheel when i was trying it with a pad i could only get bronze in all 3, but that was before they made the bronze time easier , they shaved a few seconds off of bronze for all them ages ago. Still with a nights practice with a wheel its possible, but still the hardest off line part of GT5. To be honest i never use the X2010 prototype or the normal one anyway

P.S. turn your Force feedback down with a wheel if u try it, the X2010 is a real wheel destoyer!!!!!
 
I have not even completed one lap on the first track.

But I already got my X2010 for reaching Bob-35.

They should at least make the 2 easiest ones to get slightly different.
 
Hi, Yes it's a tough one,"The Vellel Chalenge". That's why Seb.Vellel is going to be a two time "World Champion F1 driver" in Singapore (25th Sept). He's only 24 years old and helped to design this game..The X1 is awesome...Maybe buy a wheel..??.. Have fun.

well I don"t feel so bad now. I sweated through half an hour of spinning off to finally get a bronze at Monza.
I finally managed to get a couple of clean laps, but just barely. suzuka was close but I always blew it at the last chicane. and I am not familiar enough with Nurburg to get anything close to a gold yet.
 
The way I feel about this challenge is that it's not really part of GT because the car is not real.

I feel the need to complete everything else except this. I'm not bothered about getting a trophy so I'll just keep on playing the real races in the game.

I have gold on both of them but bronze on monza.
I just borrow glitched the X2010 prototype...
 
I don't think anyone is an idiot for NOT golding all of these races in the challenge. I myself, spent only 45 minutes and managed to get silver on all of the races, with their original times too :sly:

I don't really see why this car is so popular, I guess it's all hype. To me, it's just a car that can be used for grinding and nothing more.

Back on topic, I might try to gold the rest tomorrow. I just drive it like I stole it 👍
 
For me the X2010 was for B-spec grinding and thats it, but now the seasonals pay so much it makes B-spec completely pointless, if like me you only race offline to get money to rebuild engines etc. to play online.

Theres really not much point in using the X2010 online , you can race them, but you need a field of super mutants with cat like reflexes, i can hot lap in it no problem and you can get away with a lap or 2 of an average sized course racing in them withn friends, but not much more before you take each other out in spectacular stryle!!!!!

I wish I could gold it. I only have gold on Suzuka (not earned legitimately) but I don't have the money right now for a wheel nor a space for one. That and the IC test at Indianapolis with the 370Z/Z34 are just a few of the things preventing me from getting platinum.

Hahaha, do you think that the gold is that hard?? Everyone who has achieved it, is considered glitcher? Look mate, anyone who is experienced with sims, should get it in no time. Monza at least is kinda cake tbh. But for suzuka i had to spend 3 hours of practise before starting to score ~1:04 laps so it was possibly the hardest event for me in whole game.

I agree with the fact that glitchers are kinda sad but in the end its PD that failed in programming.

And i dont hate cute noobs who try their ass off to get that sad bronze. They can have it, i dont care. IMO its just that the prizes are wrong. At the moment Redbull is loosing its glory and value since its so usual car in every man's garage. It shouldnt be in car dealership or b-spec prize list. It should be exclusive to those who gold the challenges.

you are not an idiot because that challenge is mad , i heard that if you got g27 steering wheel it will be easier and i got g27 and i'm not bothering because its a stupid car and every time i see it or even hear its sound i get cross .
 
I can just barely miss getting silver on all three tracks and that was with the ds3 months ago. Have not yet tried it with the dfgt but someday I will.

Everyone is good at something but we aren't all good at everything... I will have to learn the tracks a lot more before attempting this challenge again!

I agree with you. I believe there are a FEW people who can get gold on Vettel, without using the glitch.

What makes me furious is how a LOT of people claim to have gold on it, WITHOUT using the glitch and it ONLY TOOK them 30min to 4 hours to do so. And many using the DS3 too. Come on....
 
Took me a few hours per track to bronze them but I did. Used my dfgt and got the Vettel and never went back to try for silver or gold. I never drive the car anyway so why bother trying for another version of it? For the challenge? Yeah right it's hard enough trying to find clean racing online lol.
