So, how was your day?

To be honest, lazy day. Woke up late, first around 9:00am breakfast and AM diabetest medication, cartoons for about 40 minutes, off to sleep again. Woke up around 3:20pm, lazy in bed watching tv, I know I'm going to sleep late night this night.

Tuesday I had a stomach ache, I think I ate something that made me sick. Monday, I had sea-fix mixture but that wasn't it (since other family members had it too and no one got sick). I think it was a bowl of beans I had. I think they where left overs from Saturday, I think they went bad. I didn't notice the taste, I added cotija cheese and lots of Jalapeños. Diarrhea and headaches the next day.

I had a great day yesterday. It was my Year 11 Prom and I had a fantastic time, it was really nice to catch up and spend some time with everyone, half of whom I'm never going to see again. Oh, and I did turn up in this...

My Granddad was diagnosed with stomach cancer today.

I don't really know how to react, I mean obviously I'm depressed about it, but it doesn't come as much surprise to me. He's 88, and although he's been pretty healthy throughout his life his health has deteriorated in the past few years. After numerous falls and the increased difficulty of walking he gave up on it and went to a wheelchair two or three years ago, which has essentially left him to depend on my grandma and uncle (who lives with them) for care. I think he recognizes that while he's had a long, fulfilling life, growing up in the Great Depression, serving in World War II in heavy artillery, going to law school, pursuing a career in insurance and raising four children, and then having three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, it's about time to go. He was given the option of having the surgery, but apparently it's one of the riskiest to perform, and if he didn't die during the surgery, he could have a stroke, or the surgery would be successful, but the quality of life would never be the same. I think everyone unanimously agreed that a surgery just wouldn't be worth it. That of course raises the question of how much longer does he have? Six months, a year, six weeks? Then of course there's my grandma. The two have been together for at least sixty years I think. I can only imagine what it would feel like to suddenly not have your spouse next to you in bed anymore. Must be awful. Makes me sadder just thinking about that.

@Tom

That is epic!

@Doog

Don't worry man have faith in his doctors. That is what they are there for. Luckily stomach cancer is treatable. I hope they caught it early. My mother has had 5+ cancers, one of which she still has that has brought upon 2 auto-immune diseases. One of which there is only 4 documented cases and the last one was in 1942. No one ever survived it :/

Yet she still gets up, cleans the house, goes out and goes to work every day.

I've done some stupid stuff with fire but that is one thing I have not done. Never even knew about that haha. Looks really dangerous though. Might be better with a controlled device rather than running up to a fire that will explode.

I never knew flour was flammable.

Its actually not that dangerous. And flour is not flammable (chemically), it is so fine that it lights up so easily and burns out so quickly. Good fun!👍

I still don't want to risk burning myself.

Listen to me say that after all the other stupid crap I've done.

That flour thing is actually pretty cool. Next time I'll be near a bonfire, I'll try it .

Anyway, my day has actually been okay.

It's because the starch molecules burn quickly. The molecules have a rapid expansion in the presence of heat which causes an explosion.

Going pretty ******. Theme of the year I guess. I can't believe life sometimes, really can't.

It's either you've tried it before or... Mythbusters? :sly:
I actually tried it myself. ;)

Here's a picture:

That's me on the right. ;) This was a science experiment I did back in high school. :D

Edit: Reuploaded since I no longer need Photobucket.

So, my mom decided to, on a whim, to paint the living room. This really pisses me off. The reason for this is that my family prioritizes dumb things, like painting a room that really doesn't need it, and completely blows off important things such as getting my broken laptop fixed and my getting my learner's permit.

Interesting... Had lots of earthquakes today, one of them made stuff start falling off my cabinets. I haven't felt all of them, but still. There's been quite a lot the last few days. Here's a list of the ones in the last 5 hours or so. So an interesting day for me.

Interesting, they are low magnitude quakes but not too deep. Here in Chile the quakes are deeper so usually its not common to feel too much 3,x quakes. But they are happening every day, all day

Did you ask Christchurch if you could have the earthquakes back? :grumpy:

Hope you're all right :scared:

Lazy morning as I do every Saturday, woke up at 5:30am just to watch the new Pokemon episode (as I done for the last 15 years now), went back to sleep, woke up around 3:00 pm. My grandma invited me & any family members that wanted to go as well -my mom & little sister went too - to a party (not a children's party, but mostly where adults just sit down and talk, let my little sister borrow the 3DS - had a feeling I was going to need it, except for my little sister who went for the food). Along with my grandma, I helped set the table, helped set the tables, chairs, silverware. Sat down had pozole, after a small slice of cake, and after that helped out clean the table.

Boring. Really didn't do much of anything. Though, I put some new mods into my GTA4 today. :)

Last night we went to this quarter mile oval track by us. I don't really like watching oval racing on TV, but in person it's really exciting. Even though the cara don't get all that fast on a 1/4. There was only one good crash but it was a pretty good one. So it was a fun night.

This was last night, but since my Birthday is like a day away, this is what I do for it every year. 👍

Had a few friends drive out with me, was fun.

I remember seeing some throw lighters at a bonfire, which is extremely dangerous... -It ended off with one getting burned on one of his hands.

My day has been quite unusual, as I tried (unintentionally) having a strange feeling, which I can't describe, in a way that was new for me... Other than that, my day was fine.

Oh, yes. Made a start to my computing coursework (we have to do most of it over the summer holidays :() and got a pain in the bum piece of code to work.

If you are interested it is being able to select yourself from a list (of which your details are held on a separate table) and then it fills your details from that other table into a form, and then into another table once you have added additional info.

I once tossed a full one of these in a bonfire:

Never again. Luckily for me I had a 5 foot embankment and creek to jump into about 3 feet away from the firepit. Stupidest thing I've ever done. I HIGHLY recommend that no one here EVER try this.
