So, how was your day?

Had a decent day. Did some morning HW hunting with nothing but disappointment. But then before work found stuff that recently came out and was great. :D Work was usual...talked with my friend/co-worker about ideas for my project car. And then...the commute home...

Driving home and at the second set of lights on the commute, stopped behind a Chrysler 300C with the usual ridiculously 20+ inch wheels. I wasn't being a dick and sitting in the lane next to it which eventually merges. Patiently sat behind the 300C even when the light turned green. Then it was...what felt like 5 seconds had passed and the 300C still didn't move... (texting...?) Gave a small honk to notify the driver that the light was green... 300C moved, but then...for some reason moved to the right lane that would eventually end and merge with the left lane (which we were in). At first I wasn't sure why and he/she was driving rather slowly on the merging lane, but I was nice and let them go anyways ahead of me. Then... My third set of lights on my commute, was still behind the 300C. Another merging lane on the right side, but I didn't take it. Then...fourth set of lights. The 300C was in the right turning lane next to mine. (Four lights and lanes, two left turns, two right turns no turn on red) We both took our right turn, me being in the far right and the 300C in the inner right. Driver crossed three lanes to get behind me at my fifth set for a left turn into my town. And then it happened... Sitting there, then the second the light turns green. The 300C driver SLAMS the horn. Then I knew why he tried to get on the merging lane to let me pass... He wanted to get revenge for me honking at him. Ugh...that really 🤬 pissed me off. Him taking the effort to get behind me JUST to get revenge at honking at me!? Seriously, what the hell.

I should probably get used to this 🤬. Had my license for almost two years and with my new job I do have to commute. The United States does have awful drivers...especially ones in "pimped" out 300Cs...

That's my rant for "How's your day?" Mainly because I don't know where else to go on about it.

But to end with a good note, got my stuff from commodoreben :D

Today was my first time volunteering (orientation is a bit different), and the need I chose was in the Kitchen. The first thing I did was crack open canned goods, then taking out the trash, then setting up cleaned silverware. The hardest one was the canned goods, as all of them were jumbo-sized and are only opened through Armor-piercing rounds. As for the other people who worked at the same shift, we didn't interact as a whole since we had different assignments. When the shift was over, everyone left and the sign-out desk was closed, so I instead got a time sheet and got it signed by the kitchen's janitor. Wasn't hugely enjoyable, but at least my work was sent to a greater cause.

I committed to a couple other needs too.

Great day today, just got home after the performance night. Stayed in after school practising, and considering both the songs I was performing only really had 1 or 2 band practices each (one of which I didn't know I was playing until last Friday). The funny thing is because my sister was there. She missed my first song (which was the best one), and she asked my parents how the song she missed yet (it was Wish you Were Here by Pink Floyd in case you're wondering), and when they told her, really good. She thought they were having her on. She was saying she was going to laugh at me for being terrible... When my second song came up (Fool in my Heart - Flying Colours), she was dead silent... All she said apparently was, "he's actually quite good." I got some good feedback from people around the place... But just hearing some of it myself, I fail to see why... There are so many bits that were wrong. :banghead: Maybe I'm just nitpicking. But still, it all went well it appears.

I somehow managed to get bared from the pub I've been drinking in all my adult life without lifting a finger. I got there at 1pm, drank all day, met a pal and then got refused a drink about 7pm for reasons that would give a comedian years of material.

Anyhow, I'm not best pleased and I really miss home (man and wife things) and will probably go to my local and get a few more beers in.

Stupid country.

Went to buy some new shoes. Could not find any I liked so wasted 2 hours. :grumpy:

It would help if the shop actually separated the shoes into men's, women's, and kids rather than by brand.

Internet shopping FTW.

So what took the time then? Trying all the women's and kid's shoes on first before you realised? ;)

Some pubs may have a limit on serving a customer who has been there for a long time, in case the drinker turns violent after a set amount of booze.

I've not heard of that before though, so it would be a bit odd.

^

That would do it. Over here, you can be refused drinks by the establishment any time. Even on private property - the host can refuse drinks. Bars have been sued when people left their bar tipsy and had an accident.

Holiday over - and I'm back to work. Rushing in an out of two different offices, then back home for some lunch and GTP - Lunch is Rice, sauteed cabbage, grilled peppers, and Salmon.
No breakfast today - i might have to call this breakfast and catch up later ;)

Turns out the pub I was barred from has a policy that, if one was to work there as I did, three months barring after the contract ends to save on hostilities.

Seems nobody told the pot man who happens to be the biggest bloke in the place and the only chap I don't want to go toe to toe with. :(

I don't understand, me no comprehende.

To cut a long story short: I got barred from my favourite boozer that I've drank in for years because the old twit at the bar has a corrupted memory.

Not a problem, there are plenty more bars in town.

Should change your signature to GMT+8-8+1=BST

Alright. I don't behave properly in social situations.

I went to our town's annual celebration today called Milford Memories. I went with a friend early in the day, but he had to go so I got another friend. We then found a friend walking around with his dad so he left his dad and joined us. Then it rained harder than we've ever seen and we sprinted a mile (on and off) to find good shelter.

But I forgot to ask one of my friends to join, and I promised him I would. I feel like an ass because I don't like to be left out so why would he. Plus I think he joined up with another friend of mine and I believe I missed out on a good time. I feel like I may have angered my friend.

I also saw so many people I used to like but now can't stand. Amazing how much people change in a year when you don't see them ever.

Am I using this thread wrong? I feel like I am. Sorry.

My best friend and I found some LittleBigPlanet levels we made many moons ago and posted online. Hilarity ensued.

I felt highly honoured to have one of mine described as 'the worst level ever'

^ Ahhh, I had forgotten about LittleBigPlanet, hadn't played that in ages but think I still have it.

But today I did nothing. I was gonna go to work, woke up but didn't wanna hold my dad up getting ready so decided I was gonna come in later. Then I fell asleep for a few hours. So in the end, didn't go in. That's about it really.

My day was pretty okay. I woke up with a rocky start, my dad shaking me awake to dress for a doctor's appointment. I was dead tired (at 11:00 AM ) and decided to get dressed anyways. I went downstairs and threw myself on the throw pillows on the couch to catch a few seconds of zzz's only to be bothered AGAIN to eat breakfast. My mom tried to lift the mood but to no avail. she eventually got mad and started to yell obscenities (because she didn't get sleep either, she works all day, bless her soul). Crappy morning.

So after a visit to the orthodontist and the doc, my dad took us to the Syrian part of town to visit my heritage. this part was fun, actually. we picked up what we needed for lunch and he picked up a generic-looking ice cream container with some Arabic letterings on it. Later in the day we get a call from mom, saying that how she felt bad about swearing at us ( I love you too, ma!). The afternoon was pretty rad.

Later when we got home mom made a stew of lamb, tomato, and egg for us. That lifted my spirits a bit higher. After dinner my dad opens up the container, revealing ice cream. However, it was Syrian ice cream: very thick, almost with a goo-like consistency, pistachios, and a strong slap-in-the-face aroma of rose water. It tasted so damn good (syrian ice cream- look it up.) and basically it made my day. just one small spoonful of ice cream. can you believe it?

My day has been ok so far, got back from the hospital around 30 minutes ago after having to stay in for the night but i'm fine now. :)

That would be quite a revelation lol

I went to a little meet-up for my high school I'm going to this year. All I did there was do a couple of "team-building" activities like organizing my group according to birth month without talking and balancing simultaneously. But strangely, the entire event felt "awkward" to me. Couldn't obtain my schedule, as well. I did meet a nice fellow there and conversed with him, though since I came there alone. I was also expecting a person I knew from my middle school to be there, but she wasn't in sight. Eh.

Went to my friends work and found out that his boss bought a crashed NIssan gtr from Canada and got it fixed.

Yesterday I didn't do very much, went for a run, went into town with my dad, then came home and watched the Olympics all evening. And now I've got to wake up at 7 on a Sunday to go fit a bike ride. Joy.

Broke up with my girlfriend of three years yesterday, but it happened in the best way it possibly could. Things had been bad for months but not in an antagonistic kind of way, we just fell out of love almost simultaneously. I know the whole being friends thing rarely works but I think it might in this case because it was completely mutual and we were best friends for three years beforehand.

My sights are already set on someone else (and, in truth, they have been for years now, not that I would have ever done anything while I was with my now ex-girlfriend because I'm not that type) which is really helping, even though she's way, way out of my league... Less likely things have happened, we have a lot in common and get on really well but she's absolutely stunning in a geeky kind of way. Needless to say I'm just geeky. Also we've been friends for a long time and she's not the type to consider friends, but I'm feeling pretty confident for some reason.
