So, how was your day?

Having an interesting day so far. In the morning had an appointment with my therapist (she is helping me with college, shyness, and diabetes) at 10:30 in the morning, got home (around noon) took a nap. At 3:30 pm had an appointment with my doctor. Doing various exams I have blood pressure a bit high. Had tetanus shot, blood drawn twice (one was for a1c) - my left arm is a bit sore now. I didn't make it in time to pick up my medication (for blood pressure and diabetes) - made it to the pharmacy, 18 minutes late. I will have to pick them up in the morning. In about two hours going to work.

Woke up at noon. Started playing NHL06 at noon. Had a shower in between?

Fastest. Shower. Ever.

I always find those showers last as long as you can shout "aaaaaarrrrgggghhghh!!!" and utilising just the one massive handful of shower gel. :D

We gave our notice at this place on Monday, meaning we have until September 1st to find a new apartment. Thought the one we were in the application process for had a pretty good chance, but we got the bad news in the afternoon; we didn't get it.

On the plus side, Shut Up And Play The Hits, the movie about LCD Soundsystem's last show (that I mentioned in the Recent Purchases thread) was excellent. Really felt like I was there, and made me realize it's probably one of my biggest regrets: never seeing them live. If you get the chance, I absolutely recommend catching it tomorrow.

Finished my first article for Motorcycle Trader UK. Hopefully that line will put some funds in the account in future.

Also having more issues with computers, stuff not loading, installers for programs not working. God, I hate computers.

Kick your computer full in the face. That'll teach it. Either that or don't feed it.

Recommendation noted. 👍 I only saw them once at Glastonbury in 2005 and promised myself I'd see them again one day. Putting it off turned out to be a bad decision.

Having one of those days where you don't want to do anything but lay in bed and think about why your life sucks.

Unfortunately I'm at work. :indiff:

It started off nice since I made some awesome breakfast and pretty much just played some World at War for a while. But now in pissed since I was trying yet again to fix my sleep schedule and was up for about 25 hours and I fell asleep. :grumpy: THAT'S THE THIRD TIME I'VE FAILED!

Today's been like the other days this week, doing pointless stuff, for pointless reasons. Maybe I'll go see a friend or something tomorrow.

Boring/fun/I'm gonna die.
It was boring because for the first couple hours of the day I was just inside on the computer.
It was fun because I went dirtbiking for an hour and a half.
It was "I'm gonna die" because without warning the front brake lever went straight to the bar as I tried to slow down for a hairpin corner. I was at a high RPM in 3rd gear so that's about 30-35mph. The problem was that on the right were a row of large trees, and directly infront of me was a line of cedar trees and brush.
I still had the rear brake so I was able to lay the bike down on its side to use it as a protective barrier between me and the trees.
I got her slowed down a bit but was still going fast enough to tear a hole through the brush and have the bike stuck in some trees, using the bike as a protective barrier really helped as I walked off without a scratch. Now to fix the bike and figure out what went wrong....

Good thinking to pull the rear brakes to make the bike a barrier.

But the likely thing that happened is that the line for the front brakes snapped, so you need to see if that was because it was caught on something sharp, or because it was old and wore out.

Or something else I didn't think about..

Thanks, but the front brake is hydraulic and after about 15 minutes there are some brakes now. :boggled:
I had actually felt a very small bit of fade in the brakes, (You ride hard for an hour and then brakes get reefed on.) I stopped to check how hot the front rotor was, (because normally it isin't really that hot.) but this time it began to burn me through my glove.
I didn't take it as anything because brakes do fade when pushed, but the very next corner was when it failed.
I'm thinking that it either had a sudden loss of hydraulic pressure, or because the pads are pretty much done.
But with the pressure, why would it suddenly work again (albeit slightly) later on?
It's not like it can magically close a hole.
Same thing if the pads are done, and it would've been much more gradual.
Ah well, I'll have to tear it apart tomorrow.

Edit: I think it's the master cylinder. Grr..

Something certainly went wrong yesterday. Work was fine, but during my work out at the gym, my muscles just completey crapped out on me. Dunno what happened exactly, but damn, it was pretty painful.

I guess that it's partially due to my very low calory diet, so I might be eating a wee bit more during the next few days.

Must be a pump problem, but, if I am right wouldn't brakes work better when hot as metal expands with heat?

I mean in the sense that they would be faster to respond not in the reliability way.

Anyway, not a bad day. Watched the first 8 episodes of the first series of Suits today.. Which was about 5 hours work.. Just 4 more :dopey:

I think that whenever the brakes get too hot, the pads start to lubricate the disc slightly and that causes the fade, and for the disc to become hot enough to expand that much would mean that the pads would probably be melted.

There may have been a bypass problem that caused it to fail, 'cause it was fine and then boom, nothing.

Thanks for the ideas. :)

But since most brakes pads as made of asbestos and as far as I know that doesn't melt..

I meant that for the brake disc to expand to a level where it would provide better braking, the pads would be so hot that they would be useless.

Ah right, I as you may have guessed know very little of this all..

Think I've watched too much Suits...

You're covered in makeup? ;)

I have a similar feeling. Not that I've been to school since the 80s, it's more to do with the fact that rush hour is lighter for a couple of months.

 Well there was that one time...

Only just? Aww man. I have had a month so far.
Yeah, you're at college though so it's different.

For me as well today! *internet high five* 👍 :)

I hate you guys  All I've got a two weeks of summer vacation. You surely don't appreciate school until you've graduated and started to work...

Not sure how the situation is there re: showtimes, but yeah, it was only Wednesday and Thursday here, at one theatre in town. Hope you manage to - I get the feeling the inevitable home release just won't feel the same.

Today's shift was long. Most likely due to the combination of getting home at 3:30 last night after the Dark Knight Rises, and then the building deciding to test all the fire alarms starting at 8.

Turns out we might get that place we looked at on Monday after all; the current occupants really want us to, and are appealing the company's decision. I'm not entirely sure why all of this is happening, but if we get it, I'm not entirely sure I'll care, either :p.

Great and terrible..

Watched the last episode of season 1 of suits and have no access to season 2...

I need to know what Trevor told Jessica because I like Mike and Harvey but don't want to see Donna, Rachael or Jenny get hurt.. But most importantly I don't want to see Louis win..

Anyway I've rambled enough about something nobody here's probably ever heard of.

^Dave. They had season 1 a couple of months ago, do they'll probably have season 2 at some point too...
