Almost got fired. Debating on quitting and going to truck driving school.
Are you tied down? Are you willing to move? I live in Ohio, and the oil boom here is just starting. A few miles to the south of me is a huge fracking operation just in its infancy and trust me on this, they are literally begging for truck drivers. The work isn't solid, one week you might not have much work and other weeks you'll go non-stop. My cousin just got a job driving truck down there and one week he made, and I kid you not, $2,000, but on average he makes about $1,100 a week after taxes. If you're interested, look into it. Also Wyoming, Colorado, and the Dakotas are ramping up oil production too.

I don't have a car, so I'm a little stuck at the moment. Although I don't need one for the truck driving thing. I know about the oil field stuff, I'm from western Colorado where that stuff is all over the place. It is good money, but the jobs are not very secure. They hire a lot of people when business is booming, but that can switch overnight. I was still living in Colorado when one of the companies there layed off half their workforce overnight. They didn't know until they tried to get to work the next morning and were told they were not allowed on the premises.

I know what that feels like. I'm still in a car-less situation.. I have a car but it's out of commission.

I had a alright day. I went out, visited my brother, had lunch with my mom, I got some headphones, and I'm getting ready to go on my vacations. 👍

Hell, it's only 1:14PM. Time to relax/sleep or play games.

To add to this Alberta to any Canada dudes is also heavy in oil. You can easily make 100k a year doing the most basic jobs. Only thing that sucks which I assume is the same in Ohio is the towns that are doing the oil start charging 10x the price for everything. They know all the people there will have lots of money and try to take as much as they can.

I don't know what's happening today. I just feel uneasy. Anxious. Paranoid.

Also, I pressed the close button in an elevator when some people went out at the wrong floor and was just about to turn around to get back in. Before I knew it, the door closed and they were left there. I knew that level was closed but I just didn't think of it until then. I feel really bad right now. What makes it worse is that there was also a college staff who was present there with me in the elevator. Awkward.

And it's still only midday, I have another class starting at 2pm.

I just want to go home.

I got bored after work and made a really random short video. I didn't realize the pops and crackles of the car's overrun sounded that delicious from the outside...

Yes that is very true. Especially in remote locations like the Dakotas. They can't get away with that so much here because Akron-Canton, two cities of nearly one million people is an hours drive away, so most workers find it cheaper to just commute and pay the price of fuel instead of paying Carrolton's price gouging b.s.

On wednesday we had our "last bell" in the school, so that meant getting drunk after that. The same evening was very fun, after all this was one of the very last times we spent all together. Yesterday I was as hungover as a dog and now I still feel like beaten up and have a headache. On monday I have a literature exam so I hope I won't die until then

Been having exams for over a month now. Practicals, then orals and now written exams. It all ends on 5th. That's soon but the fact is i.am.saturated. Hanging around here all day so far.
Had one exam yesterday, been hungover from the drinking too all day.

Pretty fine.

Started final exams today, with Cold War history, which went pretty well. Writing 9 pages in two hours is a PB for me, and crammed a bunch of detail in, so I think the A overall is secure, as I only needed ~70%. Rounded the day off with maths revision, and some Lego LOTR, because that never gets old.

Damn long.

Got up at 5:15 this morning, loaded up the truck, woke my son up at 5:45 and we were out the door by 5:55 for a 230 mile drive to his CF appointment. Eleven hours and just shy of 500 miles later I'm back home contemplating what to make for supper.

Kind of an annoying night - around 8:30pm my monitor stopped working, could not get another one until the next day, nothing to watch on TV - good thing my younger brother had an old working monitor he didn't need, and gave it to me.

Same had an exam although mine was on civil rights in America.

9 pages? pfft. I counted mine and wrote 20. Yes 20. And I still think I forgot to add certain things.

Unsure of how it went. I have a feeling it is either going to be a great grade or an awful one. Before you ask yes I did argue in it not just give a narative.

Why is that

I was rude to my band director semi-accidentally and I feel really bad.

Finals are coming you, and I realized I don't know anything anymore.

I realized that I am the worst musician ever. Plus, I realized that the drum line instructor doesn't even teach me anything. It's so frustrating. I want to be good but I have no way to learn how.

20 pages? That's ridiculous, though it might depend on writing size, mine is pretty small. And I know I left out stuff, just the question was phrased oddly :grumpy: I finished with 5 seconds left though, so no editing time

Ah yeah, writing a story gets zero marks, I've been told that all year. I crammed my essays full of specific dates and even cross referenced sources, so I'm pretty sure I didn't write a narrative. Though I think practically every exam goes well, and it doesn't always turn out great, just waiting till mid August now ... :nervous:

Zero marks for a story?

I was always told a very detailed story will get you an E. Still a rubbish grade.

Wait that was AS. I think you would fail A2 actually.

Pretty much, you can't even get above a C if you don't mention dates, though that would be pretty thick. A2 is a bit harsher marking, no waffling allowed.

Though you get marks for spelling Khrushchev correctly I guarantee :sly:

Not quite sure how one word or sentence is rambling.
So rambling wasn't a wise choice of words. Regardless, you went fishing with "Bad" bait and no further explanation. Seems pretty Facebook-esque to me.

Nope I was simply stating how my day was. That is what the thread is asking for right? Don't make assumptions. Just because teenage girls do it, that doesn't mean everyone does.

Well my day was good today.

The weather was awesome so I went for a little drive this morning along one of my favourite roads, although the air con in my is crap so I was sweating a lot. After that I grabbed some lunch and headed off to the gym, it was a really good work out too, plus a really hot girl was giving me the eyes :D

I spent the afternoon with the girlfriend baking cakes and what not. Then when she left I went down the snooker club for a few frames, I'm pretty damn crap at the moment with a highest break of 15

So yeah a good day.

Also after reading the above conversation I wish I was a mod, he would have got an infraction straight away :D It's one of my pet hates on forums.

I would have?

Well day has gotten even better. Weather is great so I've been outside with a friend.
