Do you know how the USB save became corrupt? I usually back up once a week in the belief that it will save me from this problem but if the USB save can be corrupted to that does get me a little worried. I'm thinking I'll have to make multiple saves on a few different hard drives.

It happened to me about a month ago. Send me a friend request (PSN:TonyLomas) and I'll send you a couple of cars. With the seasonals you can soon get back where you were. And in some ways it's more fun second time round because you already have some of the trophies so you can pick and choose what you want to do.

I was around the same as you as well.
But to answer yes I started again and now i'm Level 40 for A and B spec.
It was alot easier to get through the game the second time because I knew what I needed for each event so it saved me alot of credits because I bought only the cars I needed in the beginning.
Yep, it happened to me 4-5 months ago, while i was lvl A-31 and B-37. I also had a corrupted file both on my Ps3 hard drive and on my USB stick...
To be honest with you, I had a lot more fun when I started the game the second time around, since I had nothing to lose and nothing to prove to myself either I guess : I enjoyed each and every race i've done since then.
However, I got some great help from GTP friends to help me get back on my feet quickly... send me a FR and I'll share/send the cars you need.
