So I just swapped to a Palit gtx560ti with a 500w psu

Now it's crashing on me, giving me the pinkish tint before giving me a blue screen. Not enough power for the card?

It actually might be a sign of a bad power supply. A 500W PSU is enough for a GTX 560Ti. If your board has onboard graphics remove the card and see if the machine powers up. If it does then it either means your PSU is bad(PSU could be an old design that outputs most of it's power on the 5V rail) or your GPU is bad.

Check the label on the side of the PSU and either get a clear photo or write down the specs here, so we can determine if you need a new one.
