So in 1995 cars in NFS (DOS version) had interiors, why don't the standard cars in GT6 have an interor. Even with this quality of interior I would be happy.

For starters they weren't 3d interiors, and you haven't mentioned the fact there's only like 6 driveable cars in that game.

Not knocking the game as I loved if back in the day, just not really comparing apples with apples.

This is awesome, even if it is a photography the interior looks good.
19 years ago, What a lesson KAZ … no ?

Yes there were only 6 cars. But damn it was running on DOS and it's from 1995, what would you expect? I think it looks quite good and I am really wondering why there aren't such interiors in GT6 for the standard cars. It's way better than the black hole.

Even if it is 2D at least there is interior, that is the point IMO.
Exactly, that's my whole point. ;)

But the point is it had six cars, even if it is from '95 you can't compare a game with 6 cars to one with 1000+.

GT6 doesn't have interiors for all cars because of how much time it would take, not because they don't have the technology to do so.

I think put 2D interior on standard cars shouldn't take too much time nowadays.

If it was that simple they would've done it. What makes you think that any of us know better than people who've been in the Industry for almost 20 years?

Hahahahahahaha standard cars with standard-plus interiors.... Hahahahaha

Test drive had proper windscreen damage......

Seriously though, aren't there enough threads on this subkect already???

The problem is I suspect Kaz to prefer have standard cars with no interior instead of 2D dashboard because of he call himself a perfectionist. I'm not agree with him, he isn't a perfectionist but that is my opinion and another debate.

DIY is heaps more satisfying than a complaint thread.

1. Print image
2. Cut out the windscreen
3. Stick it on your TV.

I think there is a misunderstanding. Don't get me wrong, I really love GT6 (as you can see in previous posts). There is only one thing that really bothers me: poor quality standard cars. I hate it when a car doesn't have an interior and therefore I only have 2 standard cars and 192 premium cars. Normally I don't start complaining threads but when I was playing NFS 1995 DOS using Dosbox (I like to do that sometimes) I saw that the cars had a cockpit view. That while ten years later it seemed that cockpitview wasn't invited yet. I just thought: Why the hell are there still games without cockpitview in 2014 if it was already invented 20 years earlier.

Is not that easy. An interior like that would require a high quality 1080p texture (or higher) of a cockipt and would imply an important reallocation of the resources to fit in the actual game. That mean downgrades in other parts (track textures, effects, etc).

OMG, this brings back memories when I played it with Thrustmaster T2 wheel :D Still got the game, one opened, another in a box still with plastic wrap, the SE version, collectible item.

So you're saying that a 1080p image overlayed on the black silhouette in place now would take up more resources than a Premium car interior?

A 1080p image put on top of the game is totally something my PHONE cannot do
/sarcasm

Sure PD could put a few dashboards in and fix a few car stats. But PD loves to overcomplicate

Kaz, 'when you look up, what do you see?'
Employee, ' the.. sky?'
Kaz, ' yes and when you look up at night whilst driving by candle light?... The stars and planets'
Employee, 'I'll get the textures set up'
Kaz, 'No I want you to model the solar system, in perfect detail. And the moon. '
Employee, 'but that will take forever'
Kaz, 'indeed and I will want the lunar rover with accurate gravity simulation'
Employee, '...'

I'm not even going to dwell on the Senna content and why they couldn't leave film making to Holly wood and game content from PD. .

I don't know but is probably that the default texture memory reserved to map the interior of a premium car is much lesser than the required for a 24bits 1080p texture.

It isn't a viable method for applying an interior nowadays.

For one thing, if there's a 2-D image like it was done in NFS, then it won't have dynamic lighting - as in, it will always be the same image, no matter where the sun falls on it - and it would be ridiculous to see a sun-lit interior at midnight on the 'Ring. Then there's the fact that the image is only optimized for ONE position - which is a static, single in-car view. If you were to look at it from outside of the car, you'd see this weird looking bright 2-D plane sitting inside the car.

It would be much better if PD went about just giving a simple texture to a basic poly model - a model you can see in most of the standard blacked-out interiors (I.e. Wheel, seats, some of the dash). Then it'd look appropriate for most lighting at least, the polys would be kinda meh, but it'd be something.

Quite frankly I'd rather PD do full conversions of a few cars at a time than every car in very small increments. It would look like more extreme change - imagine seeing the Audi Auto Union and a couple of other poor-quality standards all of a sudden becoming premium.
